"Aaron.." I finally called lightly, not wanting to frighten him and ruin his drawing. But, still, he flinched.
"Oh Ann!" he responded turning around and smiling at me. "I didn't know you were an artist!" I said excitedly, occupying the chair beside him. "We just met last day," he giggled. "Yeah..right," I nodded looking at the girl on the screen. "This one is really good. And you really are a very good artist. I was observing you for some time. You didn't even know I was here." "Uh..thanks..." he laughed adorably while his ears turned a little pink. "So you have learned digital art?" I was so sure that he had taken classes. He confirmed it with a nod. "What else can you do on a computer, other than drawing? "Uhmm..I know a little bit of graphics and animation." "Great.." I smiled. "So, who is this girl?" I asked looking admiringly at the picture. The girl was really beautiful. "She's my older sister, Riley. Her birthday is next week. But she can't come home. So I thought to send this to her as a birthday present." Aaron replied. "Oh..where is she?", I asked. "She is currently in London doing her degree in medical science," he replied proudly. "Oh.. Great!" I responded. "You only have a sister?" he nodded averting his attention back to the picture and continuing his drawing. "But why don't you draw this at home peacefully instead of here in the lab bunking class?" I asked. "I was a bit late to the History class and Mr. Dexter didn’t let me in. So I decided to come here and work on this drawing since I had nothing else to do. Lost one more attendance in his class,” Aaron sighed. “Why couldn’t you just go on time, if he is such a strict teacher?” I asked. “I was only late by two minutes..” he groaned. "Hmm..." I sighed and shook my head. "Okay now, let me ask you one thing." "What?" He asked without taking his eyes from his drawing. "Do you wanna participate in the video game competition with me?" I didn't even think twice before asking. "Video game competition??" he asked surprised, turning around on his chair and facing me. "You mean video game developing competition? The one that is on the IT fest?" "Yeah.." I nodded. He chuckled and turned back to his drawing. "I only play video games. I don't make them. And do you even know the processes of developing a video game? You think it's simple?" "I know," I said and grabbed his arm, forcing him to turn around and face me. "Yeah..I have learned coding and programming for a few years. I'm confident I can develop a decent video game. And I decided you are my partner," I smiled cheerfully. "What? Seriously Ann?" He stared at me in confusion and surprise. I just nodded in reply. "But I know nothing about it," he then shrieked shaking his head. "Trust me, I know a good deal about programming and hardware. And you said you know graphics and animation. And you are clearly good at designing. So we are naturally the best partners. I'll do the programming and you'll do the graphics. Please don't say no," I said. "Are you really serious?" Aaron asked with a half-open mouth. "Yeah,” I said sternly and then the bell rang. "You are okay to be my partner, right ?" I asked. ".Uhmm..I don't know. Shall I really participate? Seriously I don't know anything. Can't you find someone else?" he asked. "It's okay. I have already started designing a video game. I'm sure you are the best partner for me. Let's do it, Aaron," I said. "Oh..uhm..okay," he nodded unsurely and then quickly saved the masterpiece he was drawing in his pen drive. Students had already started arriving. Soon a girl came and occupied the computer on Aaron's right. Then she started talking flirtatiously to him while twirling her long dark hair with her fingers. But Aaron opened a racing game and started playing it while simply nodding to her. I shook my head and sighed before switching on my computer. Why every girl wants him? I can't understand. Yeah..maybe because he is handsome, good at sports, good at arts. Maybe there are still many more things he is good at. But he isn’t one of those typical rich, hot and arrogant bad boys whose attention everyone wanted in my previous schools. He is rather a cute and friendly person, at least that is what I think after knowing him for three days. But I would absolutely give that former title to Asher Carter. Computer science teacher Miss Skylar came soon after. She was a woman in her late twenties but looked intimidating. All those who were playing games instantly closed the windows as soon as she arrived. But the hour was actually entertaining. We watched an episode of the cartoon called 'TianTian' and after that Miss Skylar asked us to make a trailer for the episode. It was fun and let me proudly say my trailer was the best. I'm not bragging but Miss Skyler itself choose my trailer as the best. Aaron's too was great. After the hour I and Aaron walked to the library. Aaron wasn't happy although today was his last day of detention. He said Asher would soon send him to detention again. I then told him about what happened to me at the library during lunch break. "Ann, it's pretty sure he would somehow get me detention tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. So this time let me get detention after actually doing something to him," Aaron said furiously after hearing I had to spend an hour in the library arranging shelves. "What do you mean ?" I asked. "Let's key his car?" He raised an eyebrow suggestively. "Oh..! I don't think it's a good idea. Aren't there cameras in the parking?" I asked. "No.. it’s been broken for a week. But he would surely figure out it's me. In fact, even if someone else does it, it would only fall on my shoulder. I don't care. I really wanna do something. I'm gonna key his car," he replied sternly. "Okay then count me in. Let's do it after detention," I said. "No..I will do it alone. You don't need to.." Aaron started but I cut him in the middle. "No, I wanna accompany you in this. I think we won't get into trouble since there's no proof, the principal won't be able to punish us." "Maybe.." Aaron nodded. "Okay deal," I grinned stretching my palm forward. Aaron smirked and sealed it. Today there was no one in the library except the both of us for detention. And we both anxiously waited for it to end, sitting far away from each other. As soon as the bell rang, we jumped up from our seats and walked out of the library. We met at the doors and hastily walked to the parking. We needed to execute our plan before the basketball practice ended. Luckily there was no one near the parking. I followed Aaron as he walked towards Asher's car which was a Titan grey Hyundai i20 Magna. Just in a few seconds, Aaron scratched a long thin line on the side, near end to end, with his house key while I stood there to give him signal, just in case someone arrives. Once he was done Aaron hopped into his car and drove away while I rushed to the basketball court so that Asher don't get any suspicion it's me who did it. The Basketball practice ended soon after I reached the court. I smiled and waved at Ty and he walked to me taking his bag after saying bye to Asher. Asher looked at me smirking, the same stupid smirk he had when he put me in trouble in the library today. But I guess that smirk will vanish when he sees what happened to his car. I glared back at him. I don't really feel any guilty. And if I had felt a little bit of guilt before, it flew away after seeing his smirk and that overconfident look on his face. He thinks he is something great and there's nobody better than him. He actually deserved that for what he did to me and all the other things he did to Aaron. He deserves more and I'll keep on giving him nice doses one after another until he learns his lesson. Until that stupid smirk permanently disappears from his face. "Hello, no plan to end the staring game? Let's go?" Ty asked me chuckling. "Yeah.." I nodded averting my gaze from Asher to Ty who was now standing in front of me. "Carrie, I really hope to see you both getting along," he said. "Me and Asher?" I laughed. He nodded. "Yeah.." I threw a hand around his shoulder and looked at him, tilting my face. "Sorry, that'll never happen Ty."You know that feeling when you get up in the morning knowing the day is going to suck? That's what I felt when I woke up to Ty's Mom's high-pitched voice. That jerk had called Ty, yesterday night. I was then sitting in front of my laptop, thinking about what to do with the video game. Suddenly Ty barged into the room, yelling 'Caroline!' He had his phone held near his ear and I could easily guess who was on the line. Apparently, that bastard told Ty that I keyed his car and so I should bring him $400 tomorrow if I don't want suspension. I pretended shocked and acted like I was about to cry. So, Ty soon told him, I won't do such cheap things and it might be Aaron who keyed his car. I called Aaron to tell him the things. And he said the jerk had already called him while he was driving back home. As soon as he picked the call, Asher screamed into his ear something like, 'Aaron, what the hell did you do!?' He said he really got terrified that he almost drove the car into a telephone
"Correcting your answers?", Asher chuckled, raising an eyebrow. "N..no.." I shook my head, my knees were almost trembling. "But I saw," he grinned. I gulped and swallowed the lump in my throat. Then I took a breath before walking toward the door. I need to somehow get out of here first. "Look Asher, I wasn't. And Mr. Keating isn't teaching me. Move!" I said as I reached near him. He was standing there blocking the door. "Really? Okay, I'm sorry, maybe it's some problem with my eyes. Anyway let me tell the principal and ask him to check the camera footage," he said, pointing at the camera on one corner of the classroom. I bit my lip, not knowing what to say or do. Then I heard the sound of heavy footsteps coming up the steps. Probably Mr. Keating. I pushed Asher out. He stumbled and almost fell back, yelping from the sudden shock. But then I grabbed his wrist and placed my other hand over his mouth. His pupils dilated as he looked into my eyes. "Look Asher, please let's talk
I sat staring at my laptop screen, trying to make a decision about whether to hack our school CCTV camera or not. For that, I need to first hack into the school website and find the IP address of the operating system linked to CCTV. It's a bit difficult task and if I get caught, I will get suspended from school, or worse I will get arrested for cyber offense. Do I need to take such a risky move just to erase the silly footage of me correcting Ty's answer sheet code? It's just a code and I won't get anything more than detention if they find out. And if Asher doesn't tell anyone, nobody is gonna know. Nevertheless, I already agreed to his deal. My heart skipped a beat as suddenly my room door clicked open. But then I realized I was just staring at my desktop and I didn't have any of my coding files open. Leaving an inaudible sigh, I turned around to see Ty frowning at me, walking inside. "What were you doing?" he then asked going to my bed and slumping down. "Nothing. Just thin
"So how was the birthday party? When did you return?" I asked Ty as I drove the both of us to school the next morning. "It was great. Corey didn't really expect it. But we returned soon after cutting the cake since we have practice today," he replied. "Oh..why couldn't that jer..I mean Asher just cancel today's practice? He is the captain, right?" I asked. If he canceled practice, I also didn't have to go to school now. "We have an important match coming next week. We need to practice hard," Ty replied. "Oh.." I hummed. The ride was silent for the next few minutes. Ty had his eyes closed and his head leaned against the window. Seems like he didn't get enough sleep yesterday. But suddenly he sat up straight and asked me something. "Carrie, Aaron is really changing school?" I was almost taken aback. So he actually cares about Aaron, although he wouldn't admit it. "Why? You said it's good," I said. "Er..but.It's.." Ty stammered looking out of the window while I chuckled
"Asher...why are you forcing her to run? Let her rest. She isn't used to jogging for long. She barely does any exercise," Ty said and Asher finally left my hands free while a smirk formed on his face. I know he's planning something inside that stupid head of his. Before I even started guessing what he is about to do, he turned to face Ty. "You know Ty, yesterday evening I was walking through the upper block corridor. Then, when I reached Mr. Keating's Biology classroom, Caroline was... "Hey! Let's go run," I shrieked cutting Asher off. "When you reached Mr. Keating's classroom, Caroline was...? what happened?" Ty asked confused, his frown now directed towards me. "N..nothing happened. Let's run!" I panted out and grabbed Ty's hands. Then I started dragging him along with me, running away as far as possible from Asher while I was feeling totally nauseous. "What happened? Did you do something wrong?" Ty asked me. "N..no..nothing. I- I was just..er..I just thought to...uhm..po
I reached the locker room to find Aaron sipping on his rose milk whilst leaning against his locker door. He had his earphones plugged in and was probably listening to one of his favorite songs that he realized my presence only after I went really closer to him."Hey!" he responded smiling, taking the buds from his ears on seeing me."Hey, you have good news," I smiled back."What?""Tyler Martin agreed to talk to you.""Really?" he asked, a surprised expression replacing his smile. "Yeah.." I nodded. "You know how?""No, how? What did you do?" He asked anxiously. Then I told him the whole thing that led to Ty agreeing to talk to him."You kind of emotionally blackmailed him," Aaron chuckled. My plan seemed to appeal to him a lot. "So he actually cares for me a little," he mumbled smiling, but I still heard it."So, when am I talking to him? I need to pretend like I'm going to change school, right?" he asked enthusiastically."Yeah..exactly! I'll ask him and tell you when you can meet.
Last hour I had Geography. I and Aaron sat together in the back row. Aaron was really anxious and restless the whole hour because he was finally going to talk to Ty after class. Ty had asked me to tell him to meet him at the basketball court in the evening. They didn't have practice today. As soon as the bell rang, Aaron got up from his seat and rushed out of the class after I wished him good luck. I didn't yet confirm him whether I was going to his house or not. Cause I didn't tell Ty about it yet and to admit honestly, I'm a bit afraid to tell him and I'm even more scared to go without his approval.I'm sure he won't let me go. He wasn't even ready to meet with Aaron at the canteen like I suggested. He said the basketball court was enough and he wasn't going to listen to Aaron for more than five minutes. But I really hope this meeting will go well and this would finally wipe away all the misunderstanding.I sighed whilst grabbing my books and stuff and throwing them into my bag. The
It was almost 9 PM when Aaron dropped me back at home. After he drove away, I walked to our front door, slowly pushing it open.Ty's Dad and Mom were in the living room, watching a movie with all the lights off. I greeted them lowly and then quickly made my way upstairs in the dim light from the TV. Thankfully they didn’t ask me anything as they were engrossed in the movie. And I had already called aunt before we started from Aaron's house.I had had dinner from Aaron's home along with his parents. Both of them were really nice to me. Aaron actually told them that I'm his partner in Chemistry lab assignment and I came to work on it.He told me, his parents don't like the idea of him playing video games and if they happen to know he is making a video game along with me, not only do they not allow him to do it, but also an earthquake would happen inside his house. In three hours, I and Aaron discussed the theme, plot and setting of our video game and I showed him the model I was already
