“A dream is also a reality, a concealed power of the mind that incorporates the truth.” It's one of her convictions when she reflects on her dream from the past.
She was smart young and naive when she vividly remembers a bizarre dream. In her dream, she met a strange boy she believed was her childhood playmate.
He was a recluse and timid boy when she met him in her dreams. Her other playmates didn’t want to play with him because he was so sheepish that he would not speak to other children. Maybe just because the children bullied him and treated him like a deaf-mute as he always ignored them while he was outside playing alone.
But he wasn’t a disabled child because he could speak normally. One time, he tried asking her to play with him. The reason she becomes his playmate.
When they were alone playing, he had that cheerful and sweet boy character. And that character of his is the thing he shows only to her.
His smile was like a sweet strawberry ice cream that made her thrilled.
Every time she plays with him, he gives her candy. In return, she kisses him on his cheeks.
But the sad thing moment was, one morning when she woke up and looked for him, he was nowhere to be found.
As she realizes now, the only time she could meet and play with him was in her dream.
“Cara!” Her best friend Jean shouted her name as if they were in a cafeteria.
“I knew it! The library is your hiding place.” She immediately hushes her friend, who is now whispering. She was reading a romance fiction book when she interrupted her.
“You are the opposite of my childhood friend!” She whispered to her but annoyingly.
“Hey dear! Can’t you still remember me as your only childhood friend? You are out of your mind, to only remember the boy in your dream! He is only a dream! Dreams and reality oppose each other. So, you should get back to your senses before it’s too late for you!” Jean scolded her again as if they had a therapy session.
She cried so much after she woke up from bed from that time when she couldn’t find the boy in her dream. Her mom and dad couldn’t stop her from crying.
When she stopped crying, she began acting like a brat. She threw away all her things in her room. She began picking on her nanny and loathing her.
Before her situation became worse, her mom and dad brought her to a psychologist.
Years later, as time passed by, she still had her therapy session going on.
Her best friend Jean is a psychologist specializing in dream analysis. She became her doctor when she replaced her mother, who gave her behavioral therapy sessions throughout all her years.
Well, in her absurd thoughts, maybe she was really out of her mind to assume the boy in her dreams had truly existed in reality.
Going back to her senses, she ignored her friend and continued reading the book.
“You know what, dear! Stop, reading fiction stories. Because it can influence your dream behavior.” However, Jean continued to bother her.
She closed the book that she was reading and faced her. “You know what, dear!” while mimicking her friend’s words annoyingly.
“You should stop bothering me because I’m thinking of zipping your mouth to put it in my pocket until you can’t breathe!” She said to her in a firm voice and gathered her things on her library desk then she deeply sighed. She continued back to think. She still believes the boy who came to play with her in her dream was real. Until now, she could still remember his face.
Jean told her, it could be a boy she had met in her childhood days, however, she can’t remember where she saw or encountered a boy like him. Her friend said he kept on showing in her dreams because she remembered his face in her subconscious mind.
"Hmm." That’s the only conclusion Jean and her mother explained to her repeatedly to remind her she is not insane. However, there is a plot hole she still can’t understand in the story of her past that she heard from them.
She went home while bringing the book she was reading earlier to the school library.
Yeah, she’s still a student. She’s currently in her senior year also studying “Psychology.”
Her best friend Jean is five years older than her, which is why she was ahead of her in becoming a doctor. Jean is also a professor in her school, which is also why they can always hang out inside the campus.
Though her friend always acts like a student, the reason she is called “Miss Professor Classmate” as Jean is always cool in dealing with her students. But her students still respect her, especially because she is true, a genius professor.
“Mom, I’m here!” She went straight to her room and notified her mom that she arrived home safely. She threw away her backpack on her study desk and lay on her bed without changing her clothes.
She closed her eyes to reflect on herself in all the years that she kept thinking about the boy in her dream as she wanted to forget him, but she kept remembering his face again and again.
...............................
Where is she? This place is familiar to her, but she is not sure where it is.
She thought she had gone home already. But where is she? She asked herself repeatedly.
Wait, if she isn’t mistaken. Oh no! This is a dream!
She looked everywhere to see the environment.
There are no people here, except for a man, standing behind his back.
She remembers it now!
This is the place where she met the boy in her dream. This place was their playground.
The strange thing is, this place is still the same. Nothing has ever changed, even the seesaw and the slides. And the fact that she knows, this is just a dream.
She went near the man who was standing behind his back that he was now facing her but she can’t figure out who is the owner of the face. As she can’t see his face.
She moved closer and closer to him. Despite that, his face was blurry. She can’t able to recognize him.
She woke up suddenly. She was about to see the face of the man, but she suddenly went back to the real world inside her room.
Who was that man?! Is it possible he was the boy in her dream? No, he wasn't. It can’t be.
“Hello, Dear. I need your expertise now. My unforgettable dream is back.”
Like it? Add to library!
“You mean, this time is not a boy, but a grown man? Did you see his face?” Jean reacted curiously. “I didn’t. I was about to see his face but suddenly woke up. I tried going back to sleep to see his face but I couldn’t go back to my dream.” She replied to her friend with a gloomy face. “I think your childhood playmate just grew up already as a man. Maybe, it was him! Could you imagine? Your dream is unbelievable! But what I just thought is absurd. It can’t happen in reality unless he is real. So, don't mind me.” She’s kidding but right, it can’t happen in reality that the character in her dream will grow up like a human being. Maybe, her mind just assumed the boy had grown up also that’s why she dreamed of a grown man. “But hey, what do you mean by, unless he is real?” She frowned as she couldn't grasp her friend. “Oh, my conclusion is, still the same my dear. I’m sure of it, Cara, that boy had existed in your childhood memory. You had met him in the past but there is one circums
She is back in reality at school. “That was only a dream. A dream is not real.” She calmed herself while chanting it to forget the dream that she had. She has to move on with her life, so she must not remember it. “Hey dear, what’s up?” Jean joined her at her table at the cafeteria while she was taking her lunch break. “It’s still the same. But I don’t think this is good news, I met the face of the man in my dream yesterday. I have never seen his face in reality before, but he looks familiar. He told me in my dream that he was the little boy I met in the past. He grew up in my dream unbelievably.” She recited her dream so that Jean could help her in dealing with it. “I guess, you’re crazy!” But Jean just reacted impulsively. “No, I’m not. Just come to think of it. I thought you were a genius. How can you be slow-witted?” She thought Jean could have read her mind the moment she told her, but she couldn’t get her rationally. “I got you now. Are you thinking, you’re going to find the
She woke up feeling mesmerized. The feeling was genuine. It was more than just a thing. It was a memory that she couldn’t forget. Because the thing he just gave her before she left was a strange passionate kiss. She caught his face, questioning her. Then he walked closer to her. She felt his hand reached her face. She closed her eyes when she saw his face nearing closer to her. Then she felt his lips touching the tip of her nose, and a little later, his lips went down her lips like a lion devouring his meat. He paused and whispered in her ear. “This is the thing I wanted to give you before you leave. Remember me and I will live in your heart forever.” She still remembers every second that happened to her earlier in her dream. She thought she couldn’t bring the thing into the real world but when she came to think of it, it was like it happened in reality that it can’t erase in her memory even though she had to wake up from the strangest dream she had. She went back to the couch that
“This is for you. I want to give you chocolate because you are the only one who enjoys playing with me.” A boy said and gave her a piece of chocolate candy. He has a sweet smile and a boyish look. She kissed him on his cheek and returned him the sweetest smile. She again remembered this moment in her childhood dream. When she thinks about it. It was just a nice dream. But why did she think of it as if it happened and why did her parents make a big deal out of it just because she had tantrums and bullied her nanny? She doesn’t understand the whole thing that happened in her childhood days. She had this feeling that there was something in her past that her parents and her doctor did not tell her. “You said the dream I had is peculiar from the other cases you were studying. What do you mean by that?” “Yes, it is. The boy in your childhood dream had a clear picture, as well as the man in your present dream. It’s somewhat unusual because your mind remembers clear pictures of your drea
“Where are we going, Mister?” She asked him when she noticed their way to nowhere. “So you decided to call me Mister, huh?” He ignored her question and just reacted like he remembered the last time she said to him about giving him a nickname. “Nope! Answer my question first, “Where are we going?” She again repeated her question while ignoring his statement. “I’m calling you Mister because you are so mysterious to even have a nickname. So, why bother?” But she still explained her undefined reason for the sake of his hypnotizing charm even though she feel unsatisfied with him. “We’re here.” He just smiled sweetly and ignored her annoyed expression. They stopped walking suddenly. She looked around the place and was amazed by nature's beauty. This place is just a paradise. She didn’t notice it at first because her eyes were staring at the man who had been holding her hand. “Where are we?” she asked again, but to herself only with a curious reaction. She explored herself in the place
“Hey, what are you staring at? Do I have something funny on my face?” She asked him when she noticed him staring at her face while smiling. “Did I tell you that, you’re so pretty? Um, I was just adoring your pretty face earlier. I was into you the first time I met you and until now, honestly.” He said straightforwardly, like a genuine man that knows how to flatter a woman. “I want to believe it, but you are just a dream. But thanks, anyway.” She felt kind of sad that she knows that this is not the reality. She is just only dreaming. “This is not a typical dream of yours, Cara. I’m really in your heart.” He said as he read her thoughts. She stared at him blankly and thinks again. She wants to be with him longer than she thinks about it and doesn’t want to wake up anymore. “Wake up and find me.” She suddenly stopped thinking and looked at him curiously as he replied in her thoughts again. Still not talking to him nor reacting to his words, she continued thinking. She stared away fro
She arrived at school and headed to her locker. She brought the flower that the little girl gave her. “That pretty flower might wilt if you put it inside your locker.” The guy who was wearing a cap and ripped jeans the other day, and now leaning beside her locker with his cap covering his face again had suddenly talked to her again with his nosy tongue. But when she’s about to react, he walked away fast before she gets to see his face. “Was he really the guy from last time?” She asked herself thinking twice as she thinks she remembers, he is the guy who offered her his cap when she was half asleep in the classroom. He’s still weird, she thought, he will see him again in her class today. She will surely see his face clearly later. She suddenly thought, what’s wrong with her? Those guys she had met around are all weird. The guy in her dream, Mr. Smith, and this guy earlier are all weird. Well, she’s still not meeting Mr. Smith, but he’s also a guy who’s messing her with his lette
He is the man in her thoughts? Is it possible or not? Crazily thinking, why would she dream of him? He just remembered the very first time she saw her at the park when one strange little girl convinced him to buy a flower for her. “Hey buddy, aren’t you asleep, or are you making wet dreams?” His roommate George woke him up from his senses. He grabbed his pillow and threw it directly into his roommate’s half-moon face to shut his mouth. “No, I’m just calculating my allowance for this month. You know, sort of need to budget my so great expenses.” He lied. Never in his mind to make a lot of expenses, he is a thrifty guy. He just made an excuse to fill his little green mind. Back to his wet dreams, he means girl dreams, he’s still thinking of the girl from the park. He just learned and had met her first in her class. He offered his cap to that girl when the last time he was seated in one Chemistry Class. He was bored and sleepy that day when he fell asleep in that classroom. And whe
