I looked at the door in panic, palms sweating. George's face was expressionless but I didn't miss the rigid posture he had. Damn it! How could I have ended up in bed with this man? The knock came again and he moved, I forced myself to walk to the other end of the room, hidden from the doorway. I heard the door open but I didn't hear the conversation with whoever was on the other side. After a few seconds, I heard the door close. "Who was that?" "The hotel staff" He answered gruffly. I heaved a sigh of relief, but the panic came in an instant as I wondered why the hotel staff had come to look for me. "What did they want?" I asked "Something was dropped off for you at the lobby" My frown deepened but I nodded, and didn't ask any more questions. We stood there, not saying anything. "I should get dressed," I said, finally moving. "Yeah," He said blankly and I met his eyes. "I don't know how this happened. We shouldn't have...." I let the rest of my words die in my mouth. "Did you do this?" he questioned and I frowned at him "What do you mean by that?" I raised my voice, annoyed. "This..." he pointed to both of us. "Of course not" I snapped. "I would never have anything to do with someone who is married. I should be asking you that..." He started to speak again but he was interrupted by the ping of a text on his phone. I watched his expression harden and I sensed annoyance as he read the text. "Get dressed. I'll drop you off" He ordered. "No way. I'm not going anywhere with you" He was insane to think I'd leave this room with him. What if we were spotted by reporters? I could only imagine the chaos it would cause. The tabloids. "I'm not asking, so unless you want me to carry you out of here and cause a scene, you'll do as I have said" I stared him down but his expression didn't budge which led me to believe that he was not joking. "Get dressed" He ordered again. I grabbed my clothes and rushed into the bathroom. I stood before the mirror and took in my appearance. What have you done? I debated calling Genna to come and get me but instantly dismissed it. I put on my clothes and stepped outside. George was doing the button of his shirt and my eyes traveled to his half-opened body. My eyes remained glued like a magnet to his delicious body. I couldn't understand my body's reaction to him. The heat that I feel when I stare and the longing to be next to him. Was it because I hadn't been with a man in such a long time? That was the easiest conclusion but the intensity convinced me that it was something more. "Are you done staring?" The question snapped me out of my trance. "You wish" I mumbled under my breath. He finished dressing up and then grabbed his phone. "My driver is downstairs" "I already said I could handle myself" I made another attempt to leave without him. "Let's head downstairs Leena" The sound of my name from his mouth, pulled at something in my head. Something familiar "Leena.." he called again. "Yeah..." I walked out first when he opened the door. I kept my eyes down as we headed down to the lobby and I headed to the front desk. "My parcel?" I asked. "Name please?" "Leena Kensington" The lady looked confused as she went through her system. "I don't have a parcel for you. Are you expecting something?" She asked "Someone came up to my room to inform me of my parcel" she shook her head. "We don't do that here ma'am. A call would have been placed directly to your room. If we had received something for you" "Any issues?" George's voice came suddenly, his body close to mine. "They don't have anything for me," I said and pushed away from the counter separating bodies. "Let's leave here" I don't argue, following him quickly. In no time, we are in the privacy of his car. "I'll have the hotel pull up the surveillance and identify the male who stopped by your room" I nodded "Thank you" I mumbled softly. "To Miss Kensington’s home," He instructed the driver and relaxed. Do they know my home? I glanced at him. "Addresses were listed in the documents sent over," He said as if he could tell what was going on in my head. I don't remember filling in personal details but I don't question any further. The drive continued in silence until there was an unexpected stop and I jolted forward. A hand stopped my crash into the back of the driver's seat. "What the hell? Are you okay Leena?" He asked, his voice thick with emotion and fear. "I'm okay.... it was sudden?" "Are you sure?" He checked me all over like there was something more that had happened. "What the hell Collins?" He went off on his driver. "A dog suddenly ran to the middle of the road, forgive me" He was about to speak again but I grabbed his arm. "It's okay. I am fine" The raging light in his eyes died and we just stared at each other. Something intense cackled between us and I felt my body heat up. His thumb gently brushed the back of my hand and I pulled away, breaking our connection. "Keep driving" He ordered and I looked away, keeping my focus outside the window until I arrived at my home. He was out of the door before I could say anything and opened my door. I ignored his outstretched hands and climbed out on my own. "Thank you for the ride" He nodded but didn't move away from my view. "I'll see you at the office" He smirked and moved away, allowing me to walk away. He got into the car and drove off while I stared at the disappearing car and I wondered why my body reacted in such a manner when it came to him.GeorgeI heard the car drive off and I turned back to the miserable man in the chair. He had a wide smile on his face as I watched him. "She's smart you know" I called one of the men over, ignoring him. "She's going to find out what you all have been hiding from her" I stiffened. "How do you think she'll feel when she learns that she is the wife you ruthlessly divorced just to be with another woman" I ignored him still. "She'll leave you..." The words cut through something in me and I marched over slamming my fist into his face. He kept smiling as I pummeled him until my fist was covered in his blood. "She'll know..." he continued annoyed. "Tell me where the hell my son is" I growled at him. "Right in front of you but you've never been smart enough to see it" "What?""You never fucked Flora but somehow the DNA result came out positive" I took a step backwards, my vision swaying as his words replayed in my head. It had been a drunken mistake. I thought Leena was in my bed but i
LeenaGeorge couldn't believe his eyes and neither could I. Have we been getting played all this time? "This doesn't make any sense" Vivian's voice cut in and I nodded in agreement. Why would Genna's husband be selling her out? "I'm calling the agency. My men will pick him up and he'll be questioned" George said immediately as he turned on his phone. "Can we be there?" I asked anxiously and he nodded. "Of course. It shouldn't take more than an hour. You can get some rest" I knew he meant well but there was no way I could find rest at a time like this. Still, I didn't argue. I opted for a quick shower instead. I changed out of the clothes that I'd been wearing for most of the day. Once I'd changed, I returned downstairs. George and Vivian had cups of coffee in front of them. The air was tense. "Any news?""I'm expecting a text and..." The ping on his phone came at that moment."Let's go" he said, and we all walked to the car. He started the engine immediately and he drove us out o
Leena"How is that possible?" Both of them asked at the same time. "I don't know. He sent an address. We should go there now" I said frantically, grabbing my things to leave."He could be messing with you. Besides, there is no guarantee that he really knows" Vivian argued. "Right. And a son? How does he know that? Did the scan carry the gender?" I shook my head."I doubt he's telling the truth""If it weren't for him, I'd have never known I had two children. I have to go" Vivian and George exchanged looks. "I'll go with you""I'm coming too" "The children...""Vera is with them and the security too. I'll text a few of my men to join them" George offered and I nodded. Three of us filed out of the house after I informed Vera. We climbed into the car. George took the wheel and he drove to the address. We arrived at a sketchy part of town, looking odd in the expensive car. We got looks from people who piled out in the street. "Wait here" George ordered and climbed out. I watched wit
Leena"Leena?" George's voice interrupted the conversation. I quickly hung up and looked at him. He was already staring at the news on the television. He chuckled dryly. "You've seen it" "Vivian called" I said simply and he nodded. "This would change public opinion about the reason for the divorce" I nodded. I looked up at him, his face was neutral. He didn't seem sad but I couldn't write it off. She was his wife for years surely he must be upset at the news. "Are you okay?" He shrugged. "I made sure the news was published" he said firmly."How long have you known?" "Two years" I gasped. "You have been married for...""Three years" he sighed deeply. "I've said it countless times, Flora and I are only married in name. We don't love each other. She came for the wealth and I married her for Scott. I realize I made a terrible mistake by doing that" he sighed again. "I could have taken care of my son without a marriage. My family pressured me into accepting. I thought I was doing
LeenaGeorge showed me to a large room. It looked big enough to be the master bedroom."Is this your bedroom?" His silence gives me an answer."I cannot stay here while you...""Please, Leena. You're here because of me. I need to fix the situation and I want you to be comfortable while that happens" I wanted to argue but he was already walking out the door.My phone rang again and I glanced at Genna's name across the screen. I end the call. My fingers hovered over the news app but I didn't give in to temptation. I turned off my phone and put it into the drawer.I tried to sleep but it just wasn't coming so I went back downstairs and I saw George making calls. I admired him for a moment until I was reminded that our admiration for each other is what brought us here in the first place."You should be resting" he said, glancing up to meet my
LeenaMy palms dripped as I stared at the news. My eyes shifted frantically to meet Anna's."There are reporters downstairs. The lobby is blocked" her voice was cautious."Oh goodness. What is this?" I cried out in frustration."I think we should find a way to get you out of the building and out of the media's sight. Things are blowing up and they're saying really bad things"As expected. I didn't want to be caught in the middle of this. I liked to be far away from scandal. My phone rang, Genna's name flashing across the screen. I silenced it.With the news of their divorce, I'd be the easiest to blame. I grabbed my things."I have to go now. Take care of everything and keep me updated. I rushed out and to the elevator. Against my better judg
