Leena

I looked at the door in panic, palms sweating. George's face was expressionless but I didn't miss the rigid posture he had.

Damn it! How could I have ended up in bed with this man?

The knock came again and he moved, I forced myself to walk to the other end of the room, hidden from the doorway. I heard the door open but I didn't hear the conversation with whoever was on the other side.

After a few seconds, I heard the door close.

"Who was that?"

"The hotel staff" He answered gruffly.

I heaved a sigh of relief, but the panic came in an instant as I wondered why the hotel staff had come to look for me.

"What did they want?" I asked

"Something was dropped off for you at the lobby" My frown deepened but I nodded, and didn't ask any more questions.

We stood there, not saying anything.

"I should get dressed," I said, finally moving.

"Yeah," He said blankly and I met his eyes.

"I don't know how this happened. We shouldn't have...." I let the rest of my words die in my mouth.

"Did you do this?" he questioned and I frowned at him

"What do you mean by that?" I raised my voice, annoyed.

"This..." he pointed to both of us.

"Of course not" I snapped. "I would never have anything to do with someone who is married. I should be asking you that..." He started to speak again but he was interrupted by the ping of a text on his phone.

I watched his expression harden and I sensed annoyance as he read the text.

"Get dressed. I'll drop you off" He ordered.

"No way. I'm not going anywhere with you"

He was insane to think I'd leave this room with him.

What if we were spotted by reporters? I could only imagine the chaos it would cause.

The tabloids.

"I'm not asking, so unless you want me to carry you out of here and cause a scene, you'll do as I have said" I stared him down but his expression didn't budge which led me to believe that he was not joking.

"Get dressed" He ordered again.

I grabbed my clothes and rushed into the bathroom. I stood before the mirror and took in my appearance.

What have you done?

I debated calling Genna to come and get me but instantly dismissed it. I put on my clothes and stepped outside. George was doing the button of his shirt and my eyes traveled to his half-opened body.

My eyes remained glued like a magnet to his delicious body.

I couldn't understand my body's reaction to him. The heat that I feel when I stare and the longing to be next to him.

Was it because I hadn't been with a man in such a long time? That was the easiest conclusion but the intensity convinced me that it was something more.

"Are you done staring?" The question snapped me out of my trance.

"You wish" I mumbled under my breath.

He finished dressing up and then grabbed his phone.

"My driver is downstairs"

"I already said I could handle myself" I made another attempt to leave without him.

"Let's head downstairs Leena" The sound of my name from his mouth, pulled at something in my head.

Something familiar

"Leena.." he called again.

"Yeah..." I walked out first when he opened the door. I kept my eyes down as we headed down to the lobby and I headed to the front desk.

"My parcel?" I asked.

"Name please?"

"Leena Kensington" The lady looked confused as she went through her system.

"I don't have a parcel for you. Are you expecting something?" She asked

"Someone came up to my room to inform me of my parcel" she shook her head.

"We don't do that here ma'am. A call would have been placed directly to your room. If we had received something for you"

"Any issues?" George's voice came suddenly, his body close to mine.

"They don't have anything for me," I said and pushed away from the counter separating bodies.

"Let's leave here" I don't argue, following him quickly. In no time, we are in the privacy of his car.

"I'll have the hotel pull up the surveillance and identify the male who stopped by your room" I nodded

"Thank you" I mumbled softly.

"To Miss Kensington’s home," He instructed the driver and relaxed.

Do they know my home? I glanced at him.

"Addresses were listed in the documents sent over," He said as if he could tell what was going on in my head.

I don't remember filling in personal details but I don't question any further. The drive continued in silence until there was an unexpected stop and I jolted forward.

A hand stopped my crash into the back of the driver's seat.

"What the hell? Are you okay Leena?" He asked, his voice thick with emotion and fear.

"I'm okay.... it was sudden?"

"Are you sure?" He checked me all over like there was something more that had happened.

"What the hell Collins?" He went off on his driver.

"A dog suddenly ran to the middle of the road, forgive me" He was about to speak again but I grabbed his arm.

"It's okay. I am fine" The raging light in his eyes died and we just stared at each other.

Something intense cackled between us and I felt my body heat up. His thumb gently brushed the back of my hand and I pulled away, breaking our connection.

"Keep driving" He ordered and I looked away, keeping my focus outside the window until I arrived at my home. He was out of the door before I could say anything and opened my door. I ignored his outstretched hands and climbed out on my own.

"Thank you for the ride" He nodded but didn't move away from my view.

"I'll see you at the office" He smirked and moved away, allowing me to walk away.

He got into the car and drove off while I stared at the disappearing car and I wondered why my body reacted in such a manner when it came to him.

LeenaThe weeks ran by so fast. I was caught up in work and investigating that I lost track of time. I couldn’t attend the Constantino event with Revna, nor could I attend Genna’s pre-wedding activities much to her annoyance. I was determined to find out who had my child. Vivian had been digging on aby information pertaining to me but there was nothing. It seemed like I only began to exist three years ago after my accident. No matter how hard she tried to find something, she always encountered a block that prevented it from happening. George on the other hand, was working to find out everything about Dr. Tim but faced the same challenges we had. The man was impossible to find but George didn’t give up, he was determined to help at all cost and that made the walls in my heart shatter. He worked like he was searching for his own son. I’d often expect him to get upset when he had the usual squabbles with Vivian but he never abandoned it. It had gotten much better between them as they w

LeenaI cleared out my schedule for Friday to be at Revna's school. The memo they sent right after she informed me stated that the meeting would be brief but one never knew what could come up and change that.I checked in with Alfred as I parked in the lot and walked towards the designated building for the meeting."Leena?" I stopped at the sound of my name and turned to see Beth walking towards me. It was surprising to find her here and even more that she called out to me."Beth" I fixed a smile on my face as I turned to her."What are you doing here?" I asked and she smiled."Scott's parents won't be able to make the meeting so I'm here on their behalf" I nodded."They are fortunate to have you. I hope they know that" I said as I continued walking and she joined me."I come to these meetings most times. I don't ever see you around?""I usually get the memo too late to do anything about it. But since I got this early, I had to clear out my schedule to be here""You're doing it all al

LeenaI frowned at the detective who stared at me with a narrowed gaze. “You seem confused Ma’am. Do you not know Alicia?”“I do”“And have you heard of her murder?”“Leena” George’s hand found its way to my waist and I ignored the feelings it sent through my body. Now wasn’t the time. “Who are you?”“Her friend. Do we need our lawyer present?” The man frowned. “Not at all. It’s only a few questions and I’ll be gone” I looked at George who nodded. “Come on in” I moved aside and he came into my home. “Would you like some coffee?” Vivian asked but Michael shook his head. “I’m fine. I need to get this over with and get back to work” he pulled out his notepad and pen. “How close were you to the victim?”“Not close at all. We only met once and we were going to meet up today” I responded. “Did you have business together?” I shrugged. “She had something of mine.” He stared at me for a while, then noted something in his book. “Do you know of anyone who could want her dead?” I looked

Leena“You’re safe” George assured and Martha nodded. I watched both of them get into the car and drive away, and now it was only George and me, with another car. “Let’s go” he said as he dropped a wad of bills. “What do we do about my car?”“My men will drive it for a while and report back to me. I need to know if they’ll target it again. Come on in, I’ll drive us back” I don’t argue and join him in his car. The drive was silent in the first few minutes and then he looked at me. “What is going on? Why is there someone after you?” I sighed. I owed him an explanation at the very least. “I went after them first” I said and he stared at me. “Did you offend them?” I shook my head. “But they are angry”“I’m going to need a clearer explanation Leena” There was impatience in his voice and I couldn’t fault him for that. “As you know, I had a pretty nasty accident three years ago. I lost my memories from it and I don’t remember giving birth to Revna. I came across something that led m

Leena“What?” I don’t hide the shock. George crowded me, concern on his face. My hands shook as I realized George had been right earlier. The events of tonight had not been coincidental. I was targeted and whoever was involved had something to do with what happened to me three years ago. Maybe I had been searching in the wrong place. Maybe I needed to find one who I was before I lost my memory. That could help touncover who was after me.“Leena” Martha’s voice was frantic over the phone.“I’m scared. Eunice is scared. We are all in danger, if they got to Alicia, they could be coming for us”“I’ll come and get you. I’ll keep you both safe” I heard sniffling on the other end of the line.

LeenaI'm beyond shocked to see George standing in this place and what's worse, he shot a man. My whole body trembled and I unconsciously tried to move away as he drew closer."Leena!" His sharp voice drew me back to the present. He held out a gloved hand for me and I hesitated."Leena" he called softly this time and I took it. He helped me to my feet and I'm pressed against his body. I get lost in the feeling for a moment, then pull away."What the hell are you doing here? You shot that man""If I didn't, he would have killed you" his voice was hard, no remorse about what he had done. But he was right if he hadn't shot my attacker, I would have been dead. But shooting wasn't for us. The policemen would have handled it."
