ONE WEEK LATER

I stared straight through the woman standing opposite me, feigning interest as she delivered a speech about something likely unimportant and not worth my attention. I had mastered the art of appearing like I was listening over the years that I had been working in business.

I sighed as my financial advisor placed a hand on her jutted hip and inhaled a sharp breath before she went on. I ran a finger over my bottom lip as I wondered for a moment if this week would ever draw to an end because of how long it had stretched out for.
