Chapter 7

 

 

"WHY ARE we here?" I asked Shawn as he parked his car in front of Grandma's Sweets. Our house is just walking distance from here to the cafe and pastry shop. "Why don't we go home yet?"

"You owe me an explanation." His voice was serious. "We need to talk, Raine."

"O-Okay. But just be quick. Javier might get worried why I haven't come home yet."

It's past six in the evening. I should be home by these times.

He got out of the car and opened the door for me. He smiled. "Don't worry, this won't last long."

I gave him a short nod and I went outside his car. The sky was now dark and filled with stars. I then remembered the picture that Dawn showed me earlier. Shawn also opened the shop door for me.

"What drink do you want? Coffee? Shake?" he asked as we got inside.

Very elegant look of the shop. The interior is clean, well-ventilated, and the pastries displayed on the counter are pleasing to the eye. Javier often buys sweets here because apart from being delicious
