Seeing Knight’s sudden appearance, Kristina, Rhea, and Joana were all taken aback. Kristina immediately rushed toward him, with the other two following closely behind.

“Mr. Silvercrest, you’re here,” Kristina said quickly. “I thought you’d already left.” She tried to divert his attention, but Knight’s gaze was fixed on Alia.

“Would you mind explaining what’s happening here, Ms. Anderson?” he asked formally.

Left with no choice, Kristina came clean and explained everything that had happened. “My bracelet was stolen by Alia, and she refuses to admit it. I had no choice but to have her removed before she steals something again—”

“Do you have any evidence to support your claim?” Knight cut in.

Kristina froze, sensing the cold edge in his voice. She steadied herself and replied, “She deliberately bumped into me earlier, and that was when I lost it. She’s the only one I can suspect since she holds a grudge against me.”

“That’s right, brother-in-law,” Joana added. “She’s the only one bold en

Kristina could hardly believe what she was hearing.“Why do you think this powder you’re talking about can prove your innocence?” she asked.“Phosphorescent powder leaves a stain on the hands of anyone who touches it,” Alia explained calmly. “If we turn off the lights, the residue will glow. Whoever’s hands light up is the one who took your bracelet.”At those words, Rhea felt a jolt of panic. She couldn’t believe Alia had thought of this. A knot formed in her stomach as fear crept in—she was the one who had taken the bracelet. If the lights were turned off, her hands would reveal everything. She had to stop this—no matter what.“Alia,” Caspian said, calling her name. “Since you’re suggesting this, are you certain you didn’t touch the bracelet?”Alia nodded firmly. “Of course. I wouldn’t ask for this if I were the real perpetrator,” she said, her confidence unwavering.Seeing her certainty, Caspian said nothing more and signaled one of the servants to turn off the lights.“Wait!” Rhea

Caspian couldn’t help but feel surprised, but his expression quickly shifted back to seriousness. “Mr. Silvercrest, step aside,” he said in a commanding tone.He couldn’t care less that it was his friend’s uncle defending the perpetrator. He would do whatever it took to punish anyone who tried to harm his sister.“And what if I don’t want to?” Knight replied, his expression darkening. “What are you gonna do about it?”Caspian was surprised once again. Now even he couldn’t understand why Knight was defending Alia. His brows tightened into a thin line.“Mr. Silvercrest, I advise you not to interfere. I won’t hold back even if you’re Jasper’s uncle—”“I don’t give a f*ck about you holding back,” Knight cut in, his tone deadly serious.Sensing the growing tension, Alia stepped forward and gently touched Knight’s arm. “Mr. Silvercrest, let me handle this. Thank you for helping me despite the circumstances,” she said with a small smile.Knight wanted to tell her that he would help her all

“Brother-in-law!” Joana cried out. “How can you still believe her when everyone just saw the bracelet fall from her bag? That only proves she stole it!”Joana couldn’t understand why Knight was still siding with Alia, still believing that country bumpkin was innocent.“Aunt Joana is right, Mr. Silvercrest,” Kristina added. “Are you really going to side with a thief instead of me—the victim?”Instead of answering them, Knight turned to Alia. “Are you certain you haven’t touched it?” he asked, wanting to confirm her earlier statement that she hadn’t even touched the bracelet once.Alia nodded firmly. “Of course I’m sure. This is the first time I’ve ever seen it,” she said.“Alia, stop insisting that you haven’t touched it,” Rhea said gently, as if trying to help. “We all saw Kristina’s bracelet fall from your bag. Please stop lying. If you admit your mistake and apologize to Kristina and the Anderson family, they might forgive you. I’ll help you, Alia.”What Alia didn’t know was that Rh

Kristina’s face darkened as her eyes swept over the crowd, glaring at everyone watching them. “Shut up, all of you!” she yelled. The whispers immediately stopped, leaving the onlookers speechless. No one dared to offend Kristina—doing so would mean offending the Anderson family as well. “And you, Alia Morvane,” Kristina said coldly, turning her sharp gaze toward her. “You’d better be careful next time.” She was about to walk away when Rhea suddenly spoke up. “Wait, Kristina. Don’t be so hard on Alia. She already explained herself and said she didn’t mean to hurt you. Please, forgive her.” Kristina’s expression softened slightly at her friend’s plea, though the resentment in her eyes toward Alia remained. “Fine. I’ll forgive her this time. But next time—” she turned back to Alia with a deep frown, “—I’ll make her apologize to me tenfold.” “Oh, Kristina, you really are so forgiving,” Rhea said sweetly, squeezing her friend’s hand. She then cast Alia a brief, secretive sneer. “T

Rhea watched Alia’s retreating figure disappear beyond the bathroom door, an evil grin spreading across her face.“Just you wait, you b*tch,” she muttered under her breath. “I’ll make sure you’re humiliated this time. I can’t wait for everyone to tear you apart.”Unaware of the malice brewing behind her, Alia headed toward the dessert table. She picked a few desserts and settled at an empty table, deciding to eat before she looked for Eduardo. The confrontation with Rhea earlier had left her surprisingly hungry. She still couldn’t understand the depth of the woman’s hatred. Rhea was willing to do anything—lie, scheme, even kill—just to marry into the Silvercrest family. If I were like her, I could’ve done far worse, Alia thought bitterly. But she shook the idea away almost immediately.No. If I stoop to her level, I’ll be no different from her kind of wickedness. With that, she focused on the desserts, eating with genuine gusto. The sweetness helped drown out the lingering bitterness
