“Lycans wiped out his entire family. Literally the entire family. Peter is the only one left of his genetic line. His family is thought to be the first line of vampires, so they were, and he is known to be extraordinarily powerful. Jen’s name was originally Lavinia. She’s the first and only vampire he has ever turned. All other vampires that exist are descendants of his family, but they are not related by blood. He isn’t really the only vampire, though, and is not the oldest. There is another who is like nearly four thousand years old.” Kyle answered, getting a look of surprise from Kohl. “What?”
“How do you know all about that?” Kohl was surprised, and that wasn’t easy to do. “It’s in the history books…” Kyle replied, not knowing Kohl didn’t know, “I read…A lot, I like to read.” “You know a lot about him,” Nora stated, and he flashed her a slight smile, which she couldn’t help but return. “I do. I’m very interested in history, and he is a very powerful vampire. I had to know if he would be who I needed to help stop Kingston and a person as powerful as he is; well, he’s necessary to save this world from the worst evil I’ve ever seen. I know he doesn’t like or trust me; I hope I can earn it, but if I don’t, well, that’s just how it is. If what I read is true no matter his feelings toward me, he will do whatever he can to kill Kingston and protect humans.” “He is a good man, but I don’t think he is the only one we need. We’re going to need to get Gabriel and Elizabeth.” Kohl backed. “And talking about men… What are you?” Kyle questioned, “I’ve met hundreds of creatures and other supernatural beings, and I have never run into one like you. Who are Gabriel and Elizabeth? Oh, wait, Elizabeth is the nearly hundreds of thousands years old vampire. Never mind.” “I am a Nephilim…” “What is that?” Kyle tiltled his head in curiosity just as a dog would, “I haven’t read all of the books, so I may not have gotten to that part about you.” “I am half-angel, half-human. Heavens hate me, and hell fears me, but I can’t belong anywhere specific for my species is heaven’s biggest abomination.” “Why have I never met another one of you?” “We are probably, for the most part, extinct. The Gods sent angels down to hunt us and kill us. Angels had come down and bred with human women, they had no idea they could impregnate them, and so when thousands of women were birthing us, the Gods freaked.” “Why are you not dead?” “Because I am lucky…” Kohl didn’t really know the answer. The Gods knew of his existence and yet had never sent anyone to kill him. Kyle realized then that the idea of being the only creature left of a species and knowing why he must be lonely, so he pressed no further. “Well, I am glad to have met you. I can feel your power.” Kyle stated, turning to Nora. “We should probably get started.” Nora waved for Kyle to follow her, and so he did. They passed through a doorway to a long hallway. The walls were a cream color with paintings that were obviously very old, but they were beautiful. Kyle stopped and stared at a painting that brought out some emotions for a reason he couldn’t know. The painting was that of a man on his knees, holding a naked woman in his arms on the ground. He held her against him, and it was obvious he was crying. The setting was in a forest with a dark, cloudless sky and stars. Something about it was familiar, he knew he’d never been here before, and he knew he’d never seen it. The man was white, and the woman was black, and for some reason, it seemed as if that was important. Kyle looked up to Nora, who patiently waited for him, and a pang of sadness took over, but for only a short moment. “Are you alright?” She asked patiently. “Um…Yeah.” He shook his head, relieving his brain of the thoughts and emotions it conjured. He then returned to follow her to the very end of the hall. She stood in front of a dark wooden door larger than a door you’d find in a more modern house. “So, this room is spelled. It’s a potent one; you’ll be able to feel it. So, if you feel weird, off-balance, or something, that’s why.” Nora explained, receiving only a nod of his head to acknowledge her. She pushed up the heavy door as it creaked open, and they walked in. Kyle immediately felt dizzy and nauseated. His eyesight was blurry, and he was overcome with a sense of lost control. He passed out on the floor with a heavy thud. Nora looked at him, shook her head, and sighed before sitting down on a couch, waiting for him to wake up. In the living room, Peter paced its length. “Peter, please. Calm down. Sit.” Jen hopelessly begged him. “Kohl, how could you let him be alone with Nora. He’s going to kill her or something.” Peter was filled with an anxiety neither Kohl nor Jen had seen in centuries. “Nora trusts him. I believe him. If he were a danger to her, she’d feel it. You know she senses a person, their intentions.” Kohl argued, “you trust Nora, right?” “Of course, I trust her.” He snapped insulted by the question. “And you trust her judgment?” Peter flashed him a glare and didn’t reply. “You trust her judgment?” Kohl pushed. “Yes.” He said through gritted teeth. “Then you need to calm down. You don’t have to like Kyle. You don’t even really have to trust him, but you need to trust us, and I know he is telling us the truth, and so does she. She dreamed it, the specific events he explained right down to the names and all. It’s not like he can read her mind.” Kohl stated dryly before licking his lips, closing his eyes, and sighing with exasperation. “Have Jen sit in there with them. If that would make you feel better.” “No, I will.” Peter decided, and Kohl shook his head. “No. You will be too much of a distraction for Nora. She will feed off your negative energy, and she needs to be on her game. You’ll throw her off. Jen won’t be so much of a distraction. I think Nora is already going to be a little thrown by Kyle as it is.” Peter didn’t quite understand what he meant, and it showed, so again Kohl sighed with exasperation, “they are attracted to each other…” “Is that what that was?” Peter asked sarcastically as Jen took her place beside him. She grabbed ahold of his arm and squeezed it gently, and he looked down at her, unintentionally returning her sweet smile. “I love you.” Her tone was soft and warm, and in an instant, he relaxed some, a noticeable amount. “I love you too.” His sincerity to her caused him to relax even more. “I can keep her safe.” She stated, and so Peter took up sighing with exasperation and drama. “You know I can. I do, though, agree with Kohl… And with Nora. I think he is being straight with us.” “Not you too.” He felt nearly abandoned on his feelings towards the lycan. “I do, Honey. I do. I love you, and I will be with her if it makes you feel better, but I truly don’t think he is at all a threat to her. I think he likes her already.” “Well, you guys do whatever you think is best, I guess.” He allowed Jen to kiss him before he walked away, defeated. Jen rubbed her face and combed her hair with her fingers and breathed out heavily before looking up at Kohl. “I feel bad now.” Her bright eyes seemed a little darker as her negative emotions began to take over. “Don’t. He is smart; he’ll come around. He has never had a good encounter with a lycan, and suddenly one walks into our lives, claiming to want to help us… Honestly, I think Kyle wants to help Peter the most.” “Why would you think that?” Jen didn’t comprehend any reasoning for him to believe that. “He wanted to make it perfectly clear that he wanted to help and that he wanted everyone to know that Peter would be the main target and he’d do whatever to help him. And to stop Kingston.” “How do you know it isn’t for his own gain?” “Oh no, he will gain greatly from the defeat of Kingston. The entire world will, many worlds will.” “So, we defeat him, and everything will be better.” It wasn’t a question, but Kohl felt the need to give her a response. “Not really. If history tells us anything, you defeat one bad guy, and another will arise to take his place. Sometimes just as bad, sometimes worse. This world will never be truly safe. Luka, for instance, is far worse than Kington, especially since it seems that Luka gave Kingston the power that he has. The world will certainly be safer with him destroyed.” Jen nodded in understanding before gracefully turning and disappearing down the hall toward Nora’s study.*Author's note:This book contains violence, sexual scenes and talks about rape. "Okay, well now that you've sung all the popular Go's Go's songs, how about like White Snake?" Gabriel asked trying to push out an attitude, but was too weak to do it. "I only sang 'we got the beat.'" Elizabeth replied confused and he nodded. "Yeah. Their only popular song. White Snake, please." "Uh, yeah which song?" "Here I go again." Gabriel said and Elizabeth snickered. "What?" "Nothing. It's nothing." "No. What? It's a great song." "Yeah I know it is. I didn't say it wasn't. For whatever reason I expected you to say slow n' easy." Elizabeth replied with a big smile spread across her soft pink lips. "Seriously? Are you gonna let me go with the whole sex dreams thing? I was poisoned. That was poison. And it started to not be so great near the end okay? The first like thirty rounds was great and then it got to be...not so great. So if it helps I don't want to have sex with you any time soon. Don't know which Elizabeth I'll get." "No. We're not gonna let you l
Finally after a few hours all of them had gone completely silent, but they still slept. Ivanka eventually fell asleep too, right beside her brother. "That entire situation was weird." Elizabeth said shaking her head, Kohl nodded his head. "Yes. Yes it was. I never, ever want to hear sex noises ever again." "Yeah? No sex moans and groans huh? Not even your little love, Camilla?" Elizabeth found herself to be humerous, Kohl however did not. "No. Don't talk about her and I like that." Their eyes met and his were black. "Calm down, Kohl. You're gonna hurt yourself. Face it you and her, at some point, will have sex. It's basic nature. The fact you see her as this sweet innocent girl is cute and charming and all, but she isn't a little girl, she's a woman. An adult woman. She will have those needs and she will find a way to satisfy them. So be prepared." "I am calm. And I am aware she is a woman, that will need that all taken care of at some point. I just don't want to talk ab
"Okay, so we'll combine most of the bedding and tie them on there and drag. There's too many for carrying." Elizabeth decided, Kohl didn't argue with her and just did it. They irritatingly began dragging the loud, moaning group. The walk was annoying, frustrating and to such a degree both of them were silently considering leaving all of them behind. They were walking for hours and hours without conversation. It seemed as if the conversations were always in a constant state of interruption. For two people who had horrible tempers, they were able to stay calm. To their own surprise. "Are we gonna hit a river or lake soon? That won't make this worse?" Elizabeth asked looking to Ivanka. "I believe so. We'll walk by a siren's lake. So becareful, sirens and mermaids are nasty little things. Kohl, my dear, you must stay far from that river. You and I can stay with all them and she can fetch it. These are female sirens, she will be immune." "Alright." Kohl said grinding his t
About half way through the night nearly everyone began to moan and groan. Almost like they were making sex noises. Elizabeth walked from person to person confused. Other than Kohl everyone was groaning. She wasn't sure what to do, when she tried to waking them no one would wake up, other than of course, Kohl. Even the little fairy Freya was moaning. Kohl stood up looking at Elizabeth with confusion. "What in the fuck is going on with them?" He asked more in general than to Elizabeth. "I don't know...They sound almost like...they're." She paused a moment. "Having sex." Both of them said in unison. ***** Peter "Hey." Jen's soft voice said, when Peter turned around he saw a beautiful sandy shore pressed up against trees and a beautiful lake. A blanket lay out just behind Jen and wine glasses full of what seemed to be warm blood. "Oh my God, Jen." His voice cracked as he ran to her, scooping her up into his arms and squeezing her. Tears slid down his face while pressing it
"You girl, you'll go first." A random centaur said to Elizabeth. "You have ten minutes, the healer will escort you to the gate. Say goodbye to your friends. It'll be the last time you see them." He began to walk away laughing. "Here, drink as much of this as you can right now." Christian said hurrying up to her with a canteen of water moments after the guard walked away. "Drink it, hurry because we have to go." Elizabeth took the canteen and began to chug it. "I love you all." Elizabeth said after drinking most of the water, she handed the canteen and what water was left to Christian and began to go with him down the hall to the gate. "You're going to be fine okay? We have a plan. It will succeed and we're all going to get out of here." Christian seemed to be trying to reassure himself more than her. He gave her a hug before he had to leave. "I'm going to wait for Johnathan and Borislav in the main hall, they're supposed to be helping me do this." "Any tips when fighting th
It was early morning when Elizabeth and Kohl were woke up by buckets of ice water being thrown all over them. Both of them gasped in shock from the cold. "Wake up humans. It's time to get ready for the battle. You must eat and drink now and relieve yourselves. We will be commencing the battle shortly." A centaur they hadn't seen before said tossing them bags filled with fruit. What the fruit was exactly was a mystery. The centaurs grabbed and chained the wrists of Borislav, Nora, Gabriel, Peter, Freya and Johnathan and led them out. "What are you doing with them?!" Elizabeth screamed at them, but they all ignored her. Shortly thereafter Christain arrived to lead them to the armory to get their swords and prepare themselves. "I am trying to figure it all out. I was awake all night trying to figure it out. I'll keep trying, but you need to not die." "Yeah that's an idea." Elizabeth said shaking her head as she grabbed a sword and shield, "uh, this shit is so heavy now. No
