Chapter 3

Autor: Perfect Timing
"Freya, tonight I want to introduce you to my childhood friends. You have no idea how jealous they are that I have you as my girlfriend," Harry said.

He held me close and then pretended to be worried. "By the way, do you remember Sharon?"

I stifled a cold laugh. "I remember. Is she coming too?"

Harry scratched his head awkwardly. "You know I don't really keep in touch with her. But we invited everyone we know. If we didn't invite her, people would gossip."

He hugged me and tried to coax me. "Don't be mad. I won't talk to her. Let's just treat her like she's not even there, okay?"

I felt disgusted. I pushed him away without expression and stared at him for two minutes, catching the tiniest flicker of guilt on his face. Acting against someone so skilled wasn't easy.

I pretended to be annoyed. "Fine, let her come. I can't embarrass you in front of your friends."

While he made calls to gather people, I secretly searched all the pockets and luggage. At last, I found a one-fluid-ounce bottle of drug tucked inside a shoe cover in his suitcase. One fluid ounce was enough to take down ten people.

I poured the drug into an empty cosmetic bottle, filled it with water, and returned it to its place.

Harry was in the yard speaking softly with his parents. I saw his mother cover her mouth as she laughed, telling him not to worry. She assured him that no matter what happened upstairs, they would be fast asleep and wouldn't hear a thing. Perfect. That put me at ease.

I took the tea from the luggage and brewed a pot in the old, yellowed teapot, preparing the finest tea for them.

Soon, nine people arrived. Sharon was the only female. They all acted without manners, grabbing cherries from the table without greeting. This was my first time dealing with these brats.

I raised an eyebrow and asked Harry, neatly dressed, "Are these all your old friends?"

Sharon felt insulted and lifted her chin. "We grew up playing together with Harry. You're an heiress from Syrinth, so it is normal to look down on people like us from the countryside."

A man named Ronald Mills glanced at me while holding a cigarette. "City women are all fake. Don't come crying and begging us later."

Several of them could barely hide their excitement, sizing me up as if I were standing naked before them. Their looks were raw and disgusting.

I looked at the empty plate of cherries and finally saw Harry for who he really was. A pile of rotten mud might cling to a wall for a while, but in the end, it still sank into the stinking sludge. He was rotten to the bone.

I turned cold eyes on Harry. "What do your friends mean by that? I actually wanted to treat them well. I made gold Earl Grey tea that costs 20 thousand dollars per pound. Who is looking down on whom now? Since they all look down on me, I'm leaving. Don't let me block your view."

I grabbed my bag and headed for the bedroom. Harry rushed to stop me and said, "Freya, don't listen to them. People from the countryside are harsh with words. They're not targeting you."

He turned to Sharon and said, "Hurry and pour tea for Freya to apologize. If you don't calm her down, no one's going to have a good time!"

Sharon pouted and poured tea for everyone. She reluctantly said, "Sorry, Freya. We're always blunt. I'll drink mine first."

After all nine of them drank, I handed the teapot to Harry. "I don't drink tea. You have it."

I picked up the empty teapot and pointed at the whiskey on the table. "You guys go ahead. I'm going to wash this."

Harry asked with a smile, "You're not mad anymore, right?"

I punched his chest and took their cups in my hand. "Fine, I'll wash the teapot and then get some snacks for you."

Sharon hurriedly stopped me. "Freya, you haven't had any tea. Can't you at least drink water?"

She didn't realize I could see the drug bottle at my feet. I smiled, picked it up, and drank it. Once they were relaxed, I headed downstairs.

Sharon laughed arrogantly. "Everyone, let's try something new. Harry won't mind."

I walked into the kitchen expressionless, set down the teapot, and immediately climbed out of a window.

The drug would take effect in ten minutes. The GoPro I had hidden in the corner would automatically send me footage of the chaos inside. I couldn't wait to watch them reap what they had sown.

In the visitation room, Harry sat there with a shaved head, looking a lot more haggard. He dropped the act and shot me a vicious glare. "What the hell are you doing here?"I looked hurt. "Why are you being so mean to me? I came to tell you something good. But if you're going to talk to me like that, maybe I won't."His eyes flickered with confusion, then suddenly lit up with hope. "I'm sorry, Freya. I got emotional. What good news is it? Did you ask your father for help? Am I getting out soon?"Idiocy really did run in families.I was the one who put him here. Why on earth would I let him out?I sighed, pretending to struggle. "This isn't something I can decide. You know my father's temper. He needs time to cool off."His smile faltered, but he didn't dare give up the tiny bit of hope he had left. He forced a stiff grin. "Please, Freya. Everything that happened was my fault. Just talk to your father. Ask him to get me out. I swear I'll treat you well. We can still live a good li

Harry was identified as the ringleader in the group sex incident, so he was interrogated separately. He didn't accuse me of drugging anyone because he was the one who bought the drugs.Group sex would get him a few years at most, but attempted drugging and assault meant over a decade. He knew exactly which charge was the lesser evil.Unfortunately, his idiot friends clung to one thing he said—that I brewed the tea—and wouldn't let it go.Once they showed him my statement, he realized he was completely screwed. He tried to bite back, claiming I somehow found out the truth, stole his drugs ahead of time, and set them all up.So what, though? The tea was just tea. All the incriminating evidence was already inside their stomachs. As long as no one remembered the bowl of cherries, I would never be charged.Sharon refused to admit she had spiked their drinks, but Ronald confessed. He claimed he heard her saying everyone should "get a taste".Now that the situation had blown up, the

The police arrived and took all of us to the station on charges of public indecency and group misconduct.Sharon and the others immediately pointed fingers at me. "It was Freya! We only ended up like that because we drank the tea she made! She definitely drugged us!"As such, I was taken into an interrogation room as well. The police officer, Spencer Hernandez, asked, "Sharon and the others accuse you of drugging them. Do you admit to it?"I shook my head. "No. My conscience is clear. She's accusing me without evidence. Can I sue her for defamation?"He said, "You can, but whether it holds depends on the lab results."They had already taken our blood and sent the tea kettle from the kitchen for testing.I nodded calmly. Then he asked, "You said you sensed something was wrong last night and escaped under the excuse of making snacks. Was it really just because of the bracelet and what Ronald said?"I hesitated.Videos and photos of Harry and the others were already going viral,

"Freya, you planned all of this, didn't you?" Sharon had thrown her clothes back on and jumped in front of me, eyes bloodshot as she pointed at my face."If you didn't plan it, why did you run last night? You ruined us! And now you're pinning everything on Harry! How can you be this vicious? What did he ever do to deserve this? We didn't wrong you! Why would you hurt us like this?"They said the people who framed you would always know better than anyone that you were innocent. But I wasn't innocent at all, so guilt made me slap her as hard as I could."Perfect. It matched the slap her mother gave her—one on each side," I thought.I put on a devastated expression, voice trembling with outrage. "Harry told me you were a close friend of his. I was so stupid. I actually believed a woman hanging around a pack of men could be their 'close friend.'"Do I really need to explain what you are to everyone here? How dare you accuse me? The police are almost here. You think I'm scared of whate

I didn't feel even a shred of sympathy for any of them.If Rebecca hadn't overheard everything and even posted online to look for me out of kindness, I would have been the one getting torn apart by everyone right now.But Harry would never have let me off that easily. His ambition ran deep. He would have used that video to blackmail me endlessly, draining me dry piece by piece until my family had nothing left.Thinking back, everything between us had been premeditated from the very start.I had gotten into a local university. I lived on campus because commuting was tiring, but every Friday, Dad sent Malcolm to pick me up.It all began when someone spread rumors that I was sleeping around.I was always low-key. I never talked about my family background.Until one day, someone anonymously posted pictures on the campus confession board of me getting picked up in a luxury car, calling me out by name as a freshman from the finance department.I was accused of things I hadn't done, w
