Chapter 2

Author: Mountain River
At that thought, I instinctively covered my nose and pushed the bottle of aromatherapy spray away.

"The smell makes me nauseous. I'll skip it for now," I said.

The moment Alayna heard that, her eyes reddened like she'd been deeply wronged.

Before she could speak, Mom cut in with a sarcastic tone, "Sienna, you were the one complaining about not sleeping well. It's a blessing that Luna Alayna personally made that spray for you, yet you still have the nerve to be picky?

"You really think the pup in your belly makes you something special? Take a good look at yourself in the mirror!"

Alayna's lackeys rolled their eyes at me.

"You have such a wonderful sister, and yet you have no idea how to be grateful. If I were you, I'd spray it on right away and show it off."

"This spray contains moonflower pollen. Its energy will dissipate if it's left open for too long. A nobody like her doesn't deserve such luxury."

"She's clearly trying to embarrass Luna Alayna. She can't land an Alpha, so she's jealous and looking for attention."

I shook my head, still unmoved.

Mom raised her hand and was about to slap me, but Alayna quickly stopped her. "Please calm down! Sienna's with pup. It's normal for her preferences to change."

Then, she pulled out an aromatherapy sachet from her bag and tried to press it into my hand.

"Well, I actually brought a sachet. It has licorice in it. It helps ease nausea for expecting she-wolves."

Mom snorted at me, then turned to Alayna with a gentle expression. "You don't have to do this, Alayna. Such a good sachet should be for you. Why are you giving it to her? She won't appreciate it."

But Alayna insisted on giving it to me. "If it helps Sienna feel better, then she should have it. I don't mind going without it."

If I didn't know the truth, I would've been touched and accepted the sachet without hesitation, wearing it close to my body.

But now, staring at her utterly hypocritical face, I wanted nothing more than to tear her apart.

I initially wanted to toss that sachet away and have a final showdown with her. At least that way, I could save my pup.

But just as I raised my hand, I caught sight of the doorway.

The door to the next infirmary room was slightly open. An elderly she-wolf was slowly making her way out with one hand braced against the wall.

Her belly was unnaturally swollen, like she was with pup.

But I knew better. It wasn't a pup—it was a uterine tumor.

I remembered how serious her condition had been in my previous life. It had nearly killed her.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Alayna staring at me, her gaze intense and expectant.

I suddenly had an idea.

If the surrogate pregnancy curse could transfer a pup from one womb to another, if I had this elderly she-wolf use something Alayna made, would the tumor inside her be transferred instead?

I made my decision.

As I reached out to take the sachet, I said, "Any smell makes me want to throw up now. I can't handle the scent of the sachet either. But it would be a shame just to throw it away."

As soon as I said that, a she-wolf who had just finished her pregnancy checkup spotted Alayna and walked over excitedly. "Luna Alayna? What a coincidence!"

She was a former helper who had once cared for Alayna. I'd seen her a few times before.

The moment she entered, her eyes landed on the sachet in Alayna's hand. "Wow, did you make this sachet yourself? I remember I taught you how to make them back then. Can I smell it?"

I sized her up. She was an Omega, and was so weak that she didn't even have her own wolf.

Would Alayna really give the sachet to her?

A year later, I heard news about Misael and Alayna by chance. They had drifted to a neutral territory on the border—a gathering place for Rogues. Chaos, filth, and lawlessness ruled there.Without their pack's protection or their titles, they lived worse than stray dogs. They were said to be living in a torn tent, fighting every day over moldy scraps of bread. One day, rain poured down hard. Misael, soaked to the bone, clutched half a piece of meat scavenged from the trash as he staggered back to their tent. His once-proud Alpha physique was now nothing but skin and bones, covered with scars.Inside the tent, Alayna curled up in a corner, her hair matted and her body reeking. Gone was any trace of her former grace. She looked like a worn-out she-wolf.The moment she saw the meat in Misael's hand, her eyes glowed green as she lunged to snatch it. "Give it to me! I'm starving! I need to eat!"Misael slapped her across the face, knocking her down. "Get lost! I fought tooth and nai

Kellan glared at the crazed Alayna with disgust and ordered, "Misael Finch and Alayna Ewing have committed the grave offense of using forbidden black magic to harm their own pack. Their crimes are heinous and unforgivable."Effective immediately, Misael is stripped of his position as Alpha, and Alayna is stripped of her position as Luna. Both are hereby expelled from the Darkspire pack and shall never set foot within its territory again."The guards surged forward, roughly hauling the two away.Alayna was still struggling on the delivery bed. Blood was streaming from her lower body, yet she was dragged down like a dead animal."No! I'm the Luna! You can't touch me!"Her hair was disheveled, and her nails scratched deep, bloody marks into the floor.Misael was pinned to the ground. His clothes were torn apart, and the emblem representing his Alpha authority was ripped off.He fought desperately while shouting at Kellan, "Mr. Whitley! Give me another chance! I was deceived by that

The entire room erupted in chaos.Misael stared in shock at my belly, then at the mass of flesh beside Alayna, as if struck by lightning. "Y-You didn't miscarry?"I gently caressed my belly, feeling the strong movements within. "Of course not. I couldn't bear to use those bottles of body oil Alayna gave me. After all, they contained black magic to steal my pup."At the mention of black magic, the Elders' and pack members' expressions darkened drastically.Alayna's face turned as pale as a sheet. She trembled as she pointed at me. "Y-You knew? You knew all along?"I looked at her coldly. "In my previous life, you used a surrogate pregnancy curse to kill my pup. You want to try the same trick again? Too bad your greed has ruined you. I gave all that body oil to the elderly she-wolf next door who had a uterine tumor."The truth was finally revealed. The so-called miracle was just a uterine tumor Alayna had stolen using black magic.Misael's face flushed red with shame. How could a

The joy on Misael's face vanished in an instant. He stared at the dark red mass on the tray, which was still steaming with a foul, bloody stench. His eyes almost bulged out of their sockets."W-What is that?" His voice shook. The healer was trembling all over. With a thud, he dropped to his knees. "A-Alpha Misael, t-this is not a pup. It's a… uterine tumor."Something exploded inside Misael's head.A uterine tumor? The heir he had announced to the entire pack, the one he had prepared a grand celebration for, was nothing but a damned tumor?"That's impossible! You're lying!"Like a wounded beast, Misael grabbed the healer by the collar and roared hysterically, "I heard a heartbeat! I felt it move! It was so solid and strong!"The healer's face was deathly pale as he stammered to explain, "A giant tumor has a rich blood supply. That wasn't a heartbeat. It was the sound of blood vessels pulsing."As for the movement, it was the tumor pressing on the intestines, causing peristals

Days passed, and finally, the time came for Alayna to give birth.Late that night, a piercing, agonizing scream shattered the silence of the estate.I jolted awake and rushed into the master bedroom.Alayna was clutching the bedsheets with both hands, her body curled into a tight ball. The sheets beneath her had already been soaked through with blood.Dark red, foul-smelling blood gushed from her like a broken dam."What's going on? Are you going into labor?" Misael burst in. His face instantly drained of color at the sight."It hurts… It hurts so much! It's coming!" Alayna was drenched in cold sweat, her features twisted in pain."Get Luna Alayna to the infirmary! She's going into labor!" Misael shouted. The entire pack erupted in an instant. All the Elders gathered outside the delivery room, holding their breath while waiting for the arrival of the legendary strong heir.I was called into the delivery room to help. The heavy stench of blood made it hard to keep my eyes ope

  • When the Surrogate Spell Breaks   Chapter 8

When I saw Alayna again, I barely recognized her.In just two weeks, her belly had swelled to an astonishing size. She looked like she was seven months with pup.The pack Elders insisted it was a miracle, saying such rapid growth meant the pup was exceptionally gifted.Alayna was lying on her side on a luxurious velvet chaise. Dark circles framed her eyes, her complexion was sickly sallow, and she was so thin that her skin clung to her bones.Only her belly was terrifyingly distended. The skin was stretched so thin it appeared translucent, covered with a grotesque web of purplish veins. When she saw me enter, she struggled to sit up. Her voice was thick with pride as she said, "Sienna, you're finally here. Look, this is the pup chosen by the Moon Goddess. It's only been half a month, and it's already this big. This pup is incredibly strong. It's not just big but hard like a rock."I sneered inside.Of course it was rock hard. That was a solid uterine tumor. How could it not be h
