Blake POV

Harrison’s gaze didn’t waver.

“Every single word I said about you is true. You’re messed up. You don’t have a heart.”

I smirked, my jaw tightening. “And I’m her husband. You’re not.”

I shoved him back roughly. “Get out.”

Adeline’s POV

I clenched the hospital sheets in my hands, my heart pounding as I watched Blake and Harrison argue.

Harrison doesn’t know what Blake is capable of.

Blake wasn’t just a man with a temper, he was dangerous when pushed. I knew that all too well. And right now, I could see the deadly rage simmering beneath his cold stare.

I can’t let Blake hurt people

I swallowed hard and forced my voice to be steady.

“Blake, let him go.”

Blake’s grip on Harrison’s collar didn’t loosen immediately. His fingers twitched like he was debating whether to throw a punch first.

“Blake,” I said more firmly this time, “Let. Him. Go.”

After a tense second, Blake shoved Harrison back, his jaw clenched.

I turned to Harrison. “Get out.”

His brows furrowed. “

  • When the heart breaks twice   The truth and the trap

Adeline's POV' The words hung in the air between us like a death sentence. "Let's get a divorce, Blake." I watched his face change. The surprise, the anger, and then something darker. Something that made my blood run cold. Blake stepped closer to the hospital bed, his eyes narrowing. "What makes you think you can leave me after all this? You're the one who wanted this marriage, remember?" My heart pounded, but I forced myself to meet his gaze. "But I regret it." He laughed, but there was no humor in it. Just cruelty. "I gave Rebecca a kidney because you asked me to," I continued, my voice getting stronger. "For three years after I gave her my kidney, you turned me into her personal blood bank. You treated me like..." I paused, the words catching in my throat. "Like some pet. Some toy that you owned." Blake's jaw clenched. In one swift movement, he leaned over the bed and wrapped his hand around my neck. Not tight enough to choke me, but tight enough to make his point clear.

  • When the heart breaks twice   The Lies

REBECCA POV The impact knocked them both unconscious. I had just arrived when I saw them lying there, their bodies still. My heart was pounding in my chest. And then, a thought struck me. Blake was unconscious. Adeline was unconscious. No one saw what happened. No one knew that Adeline was the one who saved him. Slowly, I walked forward and sat beside Blake. I brushed the dirt from my clothes and steadied my breathing. When he woke up, his eyes were dazed and confused. His head turned, and the first person he saw was me. "Rebecca?" His voice was weak. I forced tears into my eyes and nodded quickly. "Blake… you're awake. Thank God!" He frowned slightly, struggling to sit up. "What happened?" I hesitated, then took his hand. "You fell… and I caught you. You hit your head, but I stayed with you." Blake’s expression softened. "You… saved me? I nodded, squeezing his hand. Then, he frowned again. "I… I remember falling on someone." I felt my pulse spike, but I kept my fac

  • When the heart breaks twice   The Hate

REBECCA POV I clenched my jaw, my mind racing. "I can’t let Blake know that Adeline is really dying," I muttered under my breath. "I need to do something." If Blake found out the truth, everything I had worked for would be ruined. He would never look at me again. For years, I had made sure Adeline was out of the picture. I had whispered in Blake’s ear, planted doubts, manipulated situations, everything to keep him away from her. But now, she is back. And worse… he was acting like she was the only thing that mattered to him. I had seen it before, the way he used to look at her, the way he fought for her. And now, even after everything, he was still by her side. I gritted my teeth. No. I won’t let that happen. Blake was mine. He had always been mine. I had waited too long and played my part perfectly. I comforted him when he was hurt, and stood by him when he needed someone. But now, Adeline was ruining everything. I needed to act fast. I picked up my phone again, my finge

  • When the heart breaks twice   Chapter 11

Blake’s POV I sat beside the hospital bed, my eyes fixed on her pale, unconscious face. The beeping of the monitors filled the silent room, but nothing could drown out the storm inside me. My fingers trembled as I reached for her hand, bringing it to my lips. “I can fix it,” I whispered, pressing a soft kiss on her knuckles. “I can fix everything… just… just wake up.” She didn’t move. She didn’t even flinch. I let out a shaky breath and reached for a damp cloth, gently wiping her face. She looked so fragile like this, so different from the strong, fiery woman I knew. I brushed back the strands of hair that had fallen over her face, tucking them neatly behind her ear. “There,” I murmured. “All cleaned up.” I pulled the chair closer to the bed, but even as I sat, my body refused to stay still. My fingers drummed against my thigh, my mind restless. “What are you doing, Blake?” I muttered under my breath. She doesn’t want you here. She doesn’t want to have anything to do with you

  • When the heart breaks twice   Chapter 10: The Hospital

Blake’s POV I sat beside Adeline’s hospital bed, holding her cold, fragile hand in mine. The steady beep of the heart monitor was the only sound in the room, a painful reminder that she was still alive, but barely. My chest ached as I stared at her pale face, her long lashes resting against her cheeks. She looked so weak, so different from the strong, fiery woman I had once known. “Please, Adeline… wake up,” I whispered, my voice shaking. “Please… just open your eyes.” Guilt twisted deep inside me, a sharp knife cutting through my chest. This was my fault. Every bit of it. If I had just listened to her, if I had just treated her better, maybe she wouldn’t be lying here like this. Memories flooded my mind, each one hitting me like a brutal punch. I remembered the day she had stood in front of me, her eyes filled with pain as she said those words I had brushed off so easily… “Blake, I’m dying.” At the time, I had scoffed. I had thought she was being dramatic, seeking attention, tr
