The air was filled with the slightly creepy and sterile scent, that seemed to never stop plaguing hospitals. It was one of the reasons I disliked coming to hospitals so much. They practically had to drag me for checkups. Being in a hospital always seemed to act like a constant remainder of how fickle life could be. One moment you're alive and well, the next you could be confined to a bed, fighting for the right to live.

With nothing to do, I stared blankly at the flat screen tv, placed at the topmost corner on the right of where I sat. The images passed quickly but I wasn't paying any attention to it. Since we got to the hospital, I hadn't gotten any news from anyone. And Grace, unable to stand me, had removed herself to wherever it was she felt would better save her from seeing
