After my rebirth, the very first thing I did was ride from one blood donation van to another, giving blood until I nearly collapsed. Why? Because in my previous life, my fiancé's newly hired intern, Shirley Lynch, had bound herself to a blood-exchange system. Every milliliter she donated was siphoned directly from my own veins. In just a month, she transformed from an ordinary college girl into the nation's beloved Blood Angel, showered with fame and fortune, while I, suffering from severe anemia, was fired from the hospital for being unable to work. When I exposed her scheme to my fiancé, he looked at me with disgust and broke off our engagement. "You're selfish and cowardly," he sneered. "You refuse to donate your rare blood type, and now you slander Shirley? You call yourself a doctor, yet you believe in such ridiculous nonsense!" From then on, every time Shirley donated blood, I would suffer heart palpitations, dizziness, and sometimes collapse outright. I begged the doctors in my department for help, but my fiancé blocked every attempt, accusing me of jealousy and wasting medical resources. In the end, to steal my promotion ahead of schedule, Shirley donated a full 1000 milliliters of blood live on television. As her blood drained, so did mine. I went into shock and died. When I opened my eyes again, I was back on the very day Shirley first claimed she carried my rare blood type.

Where My Pulse Ended Chapter 8
So much for the so-called one-way transfer. It was just her taking my blood and me taking her bone marrow. However, her body could not handle the toll of a marrow donation, and she was freaking out."Hank was fired for cutting corners, and Shirley got dismissed for not cutting it at her job..."My best friend read off the hospital's latest gossip, begging me to stay away, afraid they would come after me.However, if I let them off the hook, what was the point of all the pain I went through? So, when Hank called, sobbing and begging for forgiveness, I took a minute and let him off the hook, at least that was what I told him. I wanted them jobless, penniless, and without a chance to bounce back. They managed to weasel my address out of someone and showed up at the hospital before I could donate my marrow. Hank poured his heart out, saying I was his one true love and promising a wedding if I would just come back. I kept the bile down and nodded like I meant it. Then, I took t

The place was a hot mess just like before, but Shirley's arm was breaking out in red spots faster than anyone could say 'contagious'.Everyone was freaking out, scared they were about to catch something nasty."Dude! Don't tell me that's some kind of contagious blood disease!""She's out here giving blood, and now, she's gonna take us all down with her? Seriously?""Hey, what's that thing on the doctor's neck?""These two were an item, right? Didn't the doctor cheat on his fiancee with the intern? Talk about a trashy duo. They had it coming!"The hospital tried to smooth things over, but the story was too big, and clips were all over the web.I pieced the whole mess together from bits of news here and there. It turned out that the hospital was packed, just like they wanted. However, everything went sideways, and the crowd was livid, demanding that the hospital make things right.Buckling under the pressure, the hospital ran full checks on Shirley and Hank, sending the samples to a thir

Sure enough, once the video hit the internet, comments started flooding in. People were tripping over themselves to be the first to call out the so-called 'Blood Donation Angel' in public. As the buzz around the topic skyrocketed, Hank's nerves were fraying. When he found out Shirley had set the showdown for a week away, he panicked and bumped it up to just three days. Next Monday was the hospital's big review day, where they decided who got promoted and who did not. He knew if he did not clear things up fast, he could kiss his own title goodbye, never mind Shirley's internship.I was not about to get tangled in his drama. I just grabbed my stuff and checked out of the hospital. On my way out, I passed by Shirley's room just in time to catch her doctor giving her the lowdown."All your tests are coming back normal. You shouldn't be fainting with numbers like these..."Shirley did not even bat an eye at the news since she had seen it coming. Hank, though, was a mix of hurt and angry as

The hospital's phones were blowing up.At first, everyone had their doubts about the so-called heroic amounts of blood Shirley had donated. However, when she was hailed as the 'Blood Donation Angel' and passed out after giving just 200 milliliters, those doubts turned into full-blown suspicion.Whispers started to spread like wildfire. Were the hospital's records just a bunch of lies?As the chaos spiraled out of control and Shirley remained knocked out cold, Hank was freaking out.He had been bragging about his one-of-a-kind apprentice, dreaming of riding her coattails to stardom. However, he ended up deleting his online presence, calling in sick to work, and basically vanishing without a trace. He figured Shirley's setback was just a hiccup, and once she bounced back, she would be his golden ticket. However, a screenshot we all recognized from our messenger group chat popped up online. It was the test report from when Shirley fainted. It was just a blip on the news, but eagle-eyed ne

Once I knew the truth, the urge to bolt just melted away.I did not bother asking around to see if Shirley had been back to donate blood. Instead, I found myself weirdly excited for the morning news broadcast.I mean, Shirley was a walking miracle with her endless supply of her 'rare blood type',

With that thought, I hopped in a cab and headed straight for the hospital. After the morning's ordeal, I made a beeline for the IV therapy to get some much-needed energy back. However, the more the solution dripped into my veins, the weaker I felt, until the room spun and I passed out cold. Whe

I faced Hank's sneers, fighting the icy dread inside.I replied, "You're reading too much into it. I'm just over pneumonia and wanted to give a little something back with a blood donation."Then, I shot back, "You, with your fear of blood, why aren't you chilling in the break room instead of stirr

"Young folks always go big, starting out by giving half a liter of blood..."Derrick Wallace's voice from the next table cut through the air, snapping me back to reality just as the room started to spin, and I nearly face-planted into my lunch. However, that made no sense. I had just polished off a
