You will never have my heart

Despite all her attempts to stay back, Harold ended up making Kiara accompany Icarus back home. The man even talked to him about an official wedding ceremony which Icarus promised to prepare for soon after his parents return from the States.

Vurons lived in a heavily guarded castle which was located by the mountains, cut off from the rest of the town. No one was allowed there except for the closest and important figures.

Once the new Alpha was appointed, he and his family would live in the castle while the rest would move out. Vurons were very rich so they never had a problem with buying themselves a fancy house to live in at any corner of the world.

Kiara looked out of the window, facing away from him; he didn't seem to mind it as well as he continued to work on his laptop. As the car moved towards the castle, the sound of the town started to fade before the silence overpowered it completely.

Was this… her new life? Away from civilization?

By the time they reached, evening had already fallen and it was starting to get dark.

There was a set of housekeepers waiting for them to welcome them. The head of this housekeeper was Martha Gibson, she was the one who raised both Darren and Icarus as their parents were mostly out of the house for business work. Martha, although was just a housekeeper, had a huge influence in the house and it was important to be on her good side which was not a huge deal for her.

Kiara looked around the house, she had been here a lot of times but things still seemed alien to her. The house was always kept dark but there was little liveliness to it which seemed to have been lost since Icarus took charge of it.

He was a bland, dull man anyways.

Icarus removed his jacket and tossed it to one of his housekeepers and addressed Kiara coldly, "Follow me."

Since there were so many people, the girl didn't want to cause a drama and followed him obediently. Icarus took her to a room on the first floor, Kiara remembered this room as his bedroom. As soon as they were in, the girl closed the door behind her. She started to shake in anger when she picked up the fruit knife kept on the table and threw it viciously at him. Of course, it didn't even leave behind a scratch on his body as he dodged it but sure did attract his attention.

Icarus turned around and looked emotionlessly at her; Kiara yelled, "What is going on in your head? You married me by force but don't let it deceive you that I have forgiven you for what you did to me." The man was silent, he shoved his hands inside his pocket and looked at her and asked, "So?"

Kiara scoffed seeing how he had no ounce of guilt within himself, he ruined her life and made her flee to a whole different country but none of them seemed to have an effect on him.

She said, "I am not letting you touch me again! Give me a room of my own, I don't want to live in the same room and sleep on the same bed as yours."

"Not happening." He said without a second thought; the man took a step closer to her and said, "Let me remind you, Mrs Vuron, that you are a human living amongst the wolves. Living alone is next to making yourself an easy target for my enemies and I can't allow anything to weaken me."

The girl's eyes filled up with tears; all the emotions that she had repressed within herself started to emerge as she threw a slap across his face, "You think of yourself as great after forcing yourself onto a woman? No, that makes you a coward! How could you do that to me after knowing I liked your brother? How can anyone believe that you are Darren's brother? He is way… way better than you. No matter what you do, you may force me into giving you my body but you can never have my heart. You…"

Icarus, who seemingly froze after receiving the slap, erupted in anger without a warning. He grabbed her by her neck, not letting her finish her sentence and shoved her at the wall behind her. Kiara was just a mere human, way weaker compared to the man and thus she was starting to choke even though he hadn't asserted much force. Her toes started to curl as the pain surged through her whole body.

Icarus said in a loud tone, "I am better than him! I have always been much better than him! Be it in looks or popularity or treatment, I was always better."

The man let go of her, making the girl fall on the ground with a loud thud. She was catching her breath and was so scared that even her will power gave up and tears started to pour down her eyes.

Icarus looked down at her mercilessly, he didn't want to be there anymore and proceeded to stride towards the door. Before he left, the man's voice resounded in the room, "You don't have to worry about living in this room. I am neither interested in your body nor want your heart."

He slammed the door behind him as he left, sending shivers to her whole body.

Kiara broke down on the floor and cried harder, only if it was Derren, he would never have treated her like that.

The girl had no idea when she dozed off but by the time she woke up, she was on the bed with a blanket around her. It was the knocking on the door which woke her up, it was Chloe- a young housekeeper.

"Luna, dinner is served."

Kiara was hungry as she hadn't eaten a proper meal all day but the thought of seeing him after what had happened was repulsing her. She smiled and said, "No, I am not hungry."

She proceeded to close the door but Chloe spoke out, "I- Alpha specifically asked us to serve you the dinner on time before he left."

"Left?" Kiara's ears perked up when she heard that word. The housekeeper nodded, "Alpha left an hour ago, he said he won't be coming back for the night."

Kiara felt as if a huge weight was lifted off her chest, she smiled internally and said, "Okay, I am coming down right now." She washed up and went down.

Kiara had had dinner a lot of times in this house when she was young but unfortunately, what they cooked was not to her liking. She hated the food even though it was prepared by professionals. One of her major reasons for crawling back to the Vuron's castle was Darren. The latter was two years older than her so she didn't have much time to be with him in school except for the lunch hours, so she would grab every chance to be here as she wanted to be around him more.

All these memories clanked a little pain in her heart; back then she was young and innocent, naively making efforts to be around him but now… it was not even close to what it was.

Kiara had no major exceptions about the dinner but when he reached downstairs, the aroma of the food hit her nostrils making her stomach grumble.

She walked into the dinning room; on a table which was large enough to accommodate 20 people was a wide spread of delicious looking meals, all her favourite dishes. Either it be the oven roasted crab or Garlic butter mushrooms, it was all there.

She could not believe this; she looked at Chloe and asked, "This…"

"Luna, you are here. Please sit down." The girl pulled out a chair for her, "Do you like the dishes, Luna?"

Kiara nodded, "Yes, these are my favourites. How did you know?" Chloe and the other housekeepers started serving, saying, "The whole household knows this, Luna. Alpha already told us about your preferences."

"Icarus?" She was stunned, she did not think that cold monster was capable of something like this.

Chloe nodded, "Yes, Luna. He handed us a list of dishes that you like and a bunch of cooking instructions. He has even told us about what you dislike and are allergic to." Kiara didn't say anything and started to eat the food, the food was heavenly and the best she had ever eaten. Chloe then said, "Today's dinner was prepared specially by the kitchen to celebrate your wedding. Alpha wanted to have dinner with you but it was unfortunate that he had some last minute urgent work and had to leave."

Now since she had said it, a difficult emotion was sprouting inside Kiara. She could not understand what the man was trying to do. Was he trying to make up for what he has done and go back to how they used to be?

Her grip on the fork tightened, she could not make herself believe that that evil man would ever want to apologise as he doesn't seem to even acknowledge his wrongdoings. But whatever he was trying, she would never submit to it.
