Alice immediately called Macie, venting all her frustration about Sean. She cursed him as much as she could, even bringing up stories from their childhood to illustrate just how terrible he had been.

Macie listened to how Alice described her miserable childhood, living under the shadow of Sean, enduring various "torments".
