Edward cursed, "Don't give me that bullshit! If you were that busy, you could've found someone else to deliver it. Do you honestly expect me to believe that excuse?"

Mitch was at a loss for words when he heard that.

Edward noticed his silence and no longer cared to hear another word from him. "Just you wait. Once the interrogation results are out tomorrow, I'll see what you have to say then. You and your boss can rot in prison together!" he snarled.

After hearing that, Mitch sighed inwardly, thinking, "...It's just my luck. I really am innocent!"

The problem was, there was no way for him to defend himself. Elias obviously didn't want anyone to know that he had taken Macie's hair for a DNA test. He had even kept it from Edmund, so he definitely wasn't going to let it slip to Edward.
