Chapter 343

Author: Flower Sock
Gregory truly was a lunatic!

Anathea lowered her head, covering her face with both hands. The room was quiet, as she was the only one there. The only sound was her soft sobs.

Jenny stood outside, watching Anathea's thin shoulders trembling as she cried. Her heart ached for Anathea.

Just then, a small figure walked into the room.

"Mom, why are you crying?" Xander asked with concern. He brought tissues and gently wiped Anathea's tears, mimicking the way she used to comfort him when he cried.

Anathea gradually quieted down, staring at the kid who looked so much like Gregory.

"Don't cry, Mom. I brought you candy." Xander took two pieces of candy from his pocket and held them out to her with both hands as though he were offering treasure.

"A classmate gave these to me. I don't want them, and I want you to have them. If you eat them, you won't be sad anymore."

Anathea didn't move, so Xander took the initiative to unwrap one and brought it to her mouth.

  • Why the Crocodile Tears?   Chapter 350

"Yes," Anathea replied without hesitation. She'd already made a plan with Giselle so she could leave with Adam today. Otherwise, she wouldn't have put a knife in her bag. Originally, she meant to use her own life to threaten Gregory. She wanted to gamble to see if Gregory would back down and let her go if she risked her life. But she didn't expect Gregory to go as far as trying to kill Adam. The knife she had planned to turn on herself ended up pointed at him instead. She never imagined Gregory would be so insane as to stab himself with the knife.Blood had covered her hands. For the first time, he'd made her feel what it truly meant to have blood on her hands—his blood, no less. That metallic scent—mixed with his sharp, possessiveness—had been burned into her lips by a deep, lingering kiss.At that moment, she'd truly panicked.Just now in the private chapel, the way he looked at her—the way he unconditionally sided with her and protected her—had thrown her into a storm of in

Lennox said nothing as he stared at Gregory intensely. The entire hall was dead silent. No one spoke a word. It was as if the private chapel was shrouded in shadows. Everyone lowered their heads. A few who tried to lift theirs gave up after seeing how the others reacted.Even the air around them felt frozen, suffocating.Lennox raised both hands and clapped slowly, a half-smile on his face. "I see. I knew you were someone who made people look at you differently even as a child. I didn't expect you to be even more astonishing now that you're grown up!"Gregory remained silent because he saw a flash of danger in Lennox's eyes. That was the sign of his true anger.Earlier, when Lennox said he would enforce punishment on Theo and Anathea according to the family rules, his expression had been calm and leisurely, as if he was toying with something amusing. After all, people outside the Sinclair family meant nothing to him.But Gregory was different. He was the heir Lennox had personal

"Mrs. Sinclair Senior, slow down!" exclaimed Marie Wood, a maid, worriedly."If we slow down any more, Nat's going to be in real trouble!" Brisa replied anxiously."They're trying to kill Nat all for the family's damn pride. Nat was raised spoiled and protected by her parents and elders. "She's kind by nature, and after marrying Gregory, he deliberately kept her away from the Sinclairs' rotten mess. He never let her get involved in that filthy swamp. Nat can't possibly handle those monsters out for blood!"Brisa, supported by Marie, was hurrying toward the private chapel. But just as they reached the entrance, they saw Gregory walking in with a group of bodyguards.Brisa came to a stop."What's wrong, Mrs. Sinclair Senior?" Marie asked, puzzled.Brisa stared at Gregory's back and let out a breath of relief. "Let's go back.""Huh?""I forgot Nat has someone protecting her now. He kept his word." Brisa's eyes were filled with comfort. On the eve of Gregory and Anathea's weddin

Theo froze in shock at Eleanor's words.Seeing this, Eleanor took the opportunity to press further. "If you put her down now, I can pretend you were never here. Otherwise, don't blame me for disregarding our family ties!""I won't! I'm taking her with me no matter what!" Theo retorted.Eleanor was shaking with rage at his response. "Theo, what's gotten into you? You're really doing all this for a woman like her—""She's carrying my child!" Theo cut her off.Anathea was stunned. The moment those words left his mouth, everyone's expression changed. Charlotte's jaw dropped as she blinked in disbelief, while Lennox and Holden's faces darkened instantly.Eleanor was burning with fury. "You punk! Don't you dare talk nonsense in here!"Anathea tugged on Theo's shirt and shook her head.Theo looked at Anathea, his eyes unusually resolute. "I'm telling the truth! She's carrying my child!"At that moment, Lennox's cane slammed against the floor.Theo flinched. He found Lennox terrifyi

Peter yanked Anathea back hard, causing her to stagger to the floor."I've heard that beating the abdomen with a wooden stick can cause a miscarriage. It's not as unsightly. It doesn't disgrace us, and it'll teach her a lesson. She needs to know that our family's bloodline is not a joke," Eleanor said. Then, she looked at Lennox and asked, "Why don't we do that?"Under the lightning that flashed across the sky, her smile looked like that of a venomous snake flicking its tongue."Alright," Lennox agreed."Very well." Eleanor nodded slightly.Someone came forward with two wooden sticks, each as wide as a wrist, and stood in front of Anathea. With a heavy thud, the floor shook, and so did Anathea's heart. It pounded uncontrollably. She looked around at everyone before her—the cold-faced bodyguards, Charlotte gloating, Holden looking as if he just wanted this to end, Eleanor with her malicious smile, and Lennox sitting there, looking all superior and emotionless.Every single one

Anathea glanced at Xander, a flicker of pain flashing in her eyes. But she knew very well that Xander was officially listed in the family register as a legitimate Sinclair by blood. They wouldn't do anything to him.She was the one they were really targeting tonight."You spoil the kid too much," Holden said helplessly, throwing an arm around Eleanor's shoulder."Well, he's Gregory's son, our grandson, and Lennox's great-grandson. Of course, we need to be more tolerant," said Eleanor. Then, she looked at Anathea's belly. "As for the other one, whether or not it carries Sinclair blood remains to be seen."Seeing this, Charlotte immediately stepped forward and pulled out the hospital reports, raising her voice to Lennox. "Lennox! The baby in Anathea's belly isn't Gregory's! It's some bastard child from some random man, and she's trying to pass it off as a Sinclair!"At her words, Lennox struck the ground forcefully with his cane.Charlotte fell silent at once and looked at Anathea

Hearing this, Gregory lowered his gaze. "If I really laid a hand on Adam, Annie would never forgive me for the rest of her life."All those cruel things he'd said to Anathea were just empty threats. He'd even taken the knife with him after stabbing himself, afraid Anathea might hurt herself. He'd also called Bella to tell her that Anathea hadn't eaten and asked her to make something for Anathea.Adrian froze for a second, then couldn't help but laugh. "Gregory, you're down bad."Although he didn't support Gregory taking revenge in extreme ways either, it was still surprising to see the always ruthless and decisive Gregory become hesitant and soft because of a woman. It left Adrian somewhat emotional."Looks like even the wisest of men can fall for a femme fatale.""She's not a femme fatale!" Gregory immediately snapped back. His sudden outburst tugged at the stitches on his wound, making him wince in pain."Alright, alright. She's not," Adrian said with a helpless smile."Just

"Gregory!"Anathea was shaken by his madness. She breathed deeply. Her eyes stung, brimming with tears that threatened to fall. She tried to pull her hand away, but he gripped it tightly. While she was still stunned, he clamped onto the back of her neck with his other hand and leaned in, biting and kissing her lips. The thick scent of blood mixed with the cool cedar fragrance on his body invaded her senses, entwined together in a way that allowed no resistance.Tears slipped down Anathea's cheeks. She widened her eyes, shock and disbelief filling them. She'd known Gregory would be furious once he found out she'd signed the divorce petition, but she'd never imagined he would lose control to this extent. She never could have imagined he would truly go this far—that he wouldn't let her go even if he thought the baby wasn't his.She felt like a fish on the chopping block, while he was the sharp knife. Every word he said and every move he made was like a knife cutting into her. It wo
