Chapter 558

ผู้เขียน: Flower Sock
Anathea frowned, snapping, "What, is peeping a kink of yours?"

Gregory's lips curled when he saw emotions flickering across her usually placid face. She normally looked at him like she wished he'd stay ten feet away from her.

"I came in here and openly watched. I certainly wasn't peeping."

It was his lounge, to begin with. He had every right to enter as he pleased.

Anathea made no reply, only threw a dark look at the frosted glass wall of the bathroom. "When did you come in?"

Gregory read her mind right away, and he wasn't ashamed to answer, "15 minutes ago."

So, he'd been sitting on the bed and watching Anathea as she changed into the tennis outfit? Had he also witnessed the embarrassing moment when she got stuck while pulling on the tennis clothes?

"I had half a mind to go in there and help you when you got stuck pulling it on," Gregory pointed out.

Anathea went rigid, then let out a breath as she tried to keep her face neutral. "Thanks, but I don't need your help."

Anathea's eyes widened in shock, reflecting Gregory's face looming far too close for comfort. His sudden, aggressive kiss left her lips tingling. The usual crisp scent of cedar he wore now felt hot and overwhelming as it mingled with his breath. A faint blush crept into her cheeks.Clenching her teeth, Anathea tried to knee him again—but this time, Gregory was ready. He caught her knee effortlessly, deflecting her strength, and even had the nerve to nip at her already swollen lips. She hissed in pain.Only then did Gregory finally let her go. His fingers brushed gently over her now-swollen lips, as though he were touching a long-cherished treasure."Gregory, are you some kind of dog?" Anathea snapped, swatting his hand away with a loud smack. If he weren't, then why do you bite like one?Her hit wasn't gentle. A flush of red immediately bloomed on the back of his hand, but he didn't seem to mind. Instead, his eyes locked on her lips."Your lips are just too tempting, Annie," h

"You're not to be trusted," Anathea said calmly after catching her breath. He was the one who'd worn down her trust in him again and again, yet now he had the nerve to question why she didn't believe in him.Gregory lowered his gaze and said nothing. The room fell silent for a moment.Soon after, the attendant brought in a new tennis outfit. This one was more modest than the one Anathea was wearing, and the color was less flashy. She was somewhat satisfied and took the clothes into the bathroom to change. When she saw the frosted glass door facing Gregory, she stiffly said, "Turn around.""Don't you want me to help?" he asked. She rolled her eyes at him without hesitation. "No.""Alright then," he said obediently and turned his back like a proper gentleman.Only then did Anathea step into the bathroom. The clothes were tight. Putting them on was a struggle, and taking them off was even harder. Anathea struggled for nearly ten minutes trying to get the dress off but only ended

As expected, Anathea's gamble paid off. This time, she beat Shirley to swiping her card and ringing up the clothes before Shirley could react, then handed the bags to Dayanna.Naturally, Dayanna was open to putting in a good word for Anathea with Macon now that she'd accepted her gifts. "It so happens that I'm playing tennis with my husband, Macon, this afternoon. If you have the time, Ms. Jacobson, why don't you join us?""That sounds great." Anathea's eyes twinkled, and she sent Dominic a text, telling him to await her good news. Before long, Anathea arrived at the tennis club with Dayanna. The latter seemed to be in a good mood and even upgraded Anathea to a VIP Diamond member.Shirley tagged along, too, and kept finding ways to make small talk with Dayanna. She would occasionally and subtly sideline Anathea in her conversation, but Anathea was thick-skinned enough to pretend not to have heard her. When they reached their destination, the club attendant hurried forward to tak

Dayanna's expression shifted, and the retail assistants in the boutique went weak in the knees.Even Shirley was stumped as a look of warning filled her eyes. She never expected Anathea to put Dayanna down just to stop her from scoring a collaboration with the Presgraves."Please don't be mad, Mrs. Presgrave. You don't have to get worked up over a comment made by riff-raff like her," Shirley quickly interjected, diffusing the tension and casting blame on Anathea. They were both vying for a partnership with Presgrave Group, after all. They both had something to lose if Dayanna took offense at Anathea's comment and told Macon about it.Anathea was well aware of this, but her eyes twinkled even more, and this time with amusement, when she saw how flustered Shirley was. Funny how Shirley had been high and mighty a minute ago, only to cower with sycophancy now.Shirley's brows knitted closely together. She cursed Anathea for insulting Dayanna on purpose. Anathea was trying to drag Sh

The next second, a hand holding a black credit card reached past Anathea, followed by a woman's voice. "I'll pay for whatever Mrs. Presgrave likes."Anathea's gaze flicked to the side. She narrowed her eyes when she saw Shirley, who returned her look with a smug curl of her lips. Shirley turned to address Dayanna with a smile, "Mrs. Presgrave, it's been a while."Dayanna paused, but she didn't take long to recognize Shirley. "Goodness, if it isn't Shirley! What brings you here to see me?""I've missed you." Shirley nudged Anathea aside and stepped forward to link arms with Dayanna. "So, what do you make of the cosmetic procedure project I recommended to you last time?""It was rather decent. You must recommend more of these stellar projects to me!"Anathea listened to their conversation. She was admittedly surprised by how friendly Shirley seemed with Dayanna.A bad feeling came over Anathea when she saw the look on Shirley's face. Sure enough, the next second, Shirley said, "
