~Tate’s Point of View~

“She deserves the full truth while we’re at it,” I say, holding my mate as she sobs in my arms. Luc’s letter now sits on the floor, she’s unable to look at it or even hold it another second. She’d started to try and read it, but I had to finish it for her.

Harlow pulls back, and gapes me with her face drenched in tears.

“What the fuck else is there? Everyone just knows everything and thinks I don’t need to hear it,” she practically shouts, then closes her mouth as we all hold our breath. We still absolutely still, paying she didn’t wake Reha. After a beat, when it’s still quiet, she lets out a long exhale.

Colt tells me he can hear Reha’s little heartbeat and barely her breathing, but she’s still peacefully asleep.

“Luc is a Shadow. Works directly for our head vampire Godfrey,” I say, throwing protocol out the window. If he’s also her mate, if I’m about to be saddled with him for the rest of my days too… fuck it.

Her jaw falls, and she narrows her eyes at me.
