Forty Four

I was resting on his chest, my damp hair soaking his shirt. Tears dripped from my eyes. His story, how touching. I have loved ones by my side but I'm scared. Scared that something would go wrong and I won't be able to handle it.

“why are you crying Ms?” he asked stroking my hair gently.

“ I don't know.” I wiped off the tears. We were silent and I became conscious of where I was. I was leaning on him, I felt safe like I never wanted to leave.

“I've missed you so much Katrienair.”

He's never called me Katty and I love the way he calls "Katrienair" anyway.

“ you are not supposed to miss me that much.” I teased.

“but I do.” he smiled. “don't you?”

I miss you more than you can ever imagine but you don't deserve to know, right?

“i don't know.” I said.“we weren't close friends. You were just a part of my life on earth. One that can be easily forgotten.” I
