~lily~

“Now let’s begin, shall we?” he said with a smirk as he dragged me away from the wrecked van.

I kicked and struggled, trying to fight him off, but it was useless. My wrists were still tied behind my back, and every movement sent pain shooting through my body.

He jerked me upright by my hair.

“Now tell me,” he growled, shoving me against the side of the van. “Where’s the information you stole?”

I glared at him.

I wasn’t giving him a damn thing.

His fist slammed into my ribs.

The air explo

~lily~Nick continued kissing his way down my body, every touch sending shivers racing through me.“You’re still as beautiful as ever,” he murmured between kisses. His hands slipped beneath the waistband of my pants, his touch slow and confident. I drew in a soft breath, my body responding instinctively to the familiar warmth of his fingertips.“You’re already so wet,” he whispered, his voice low.“Always for you,” I breathed. He pulled his hand back, his gaze never leaving mine as he slowly brought his fingers to his lips. A satisfied smile curved across his face.“You taste incredible.”The sound of my zipper made my heart skip.“Lift that pretty little ass for me,” he said gruffly.I obeyed, raising my hips just enough for him to slide my pants and panties down my legs. Cool air brushed against my skin, but the heat in Nick’s eyes kept every inch of me warm.“Your turn,” I said, watching him intently. “Lose the clothes.”A crooked smile spread across his face as he unfastened his j

~lily~After two long weeks in the hospital, I was finally being released.I never thought I’d be so happy to leave a place, but being stuck in that bed without my laptop had been torture. I hated not knowing what Lightfoot was planning, hated feeling like I was sitting on the sidelines while everyone else fought.Still, after everything that happened, I had to admit the break had been necessary.Lightning had made sure there were always club members nearby, just in case someone tried something again. It was annoying at times, but I understood why.Stepping out of my hospital room, I stretched my stiff muscles and took a deep breath.Freedom.Then I heard a familiar voice.“Well, good morning, sleeping beauty.”I turned to see Snake leaning against the wall with a grin.“How are you feeling?” he asked as he pushed away from the wall.“I’m good,” I said, smiling. “A little sore, but I’ll survive.”My eyes scanned the hallway.“Where’s Nick?”The second I asked, Snake’s expression chang

~nick~“So how long have you been selling us out?”My voice echoed through the clubhouse.Every man in the room stared at Slick. He swallowed hard, his confidence from earlier completely gone.“I… I don’t know what you’re talking about,” he stammered.A cold laugh escaped me.Then I grabbed the beer bottle in my hand and smashed it against the floor. The sharp crack made him flinch.“Oh, you don’t know what I’m talking about?”I stepped toward him.“Let me refresh your memory.”The brothers moved aside, creating a path.Slick looked around the room, searching for someone to step in.Nobody did.Because everyone knew the truth. He was alone.I grabbed the front of his shirt and pulled him close.“You remember Lily, right?”His face changed.“The woman we just left at the hospital?”His eyes widened.“No… she’s probably mistaken,” he rushed out. “Yeah, that’s it. The meds probably messed with her memory.”I stared at him.“She’s mistaken?”My grip tightened.“You really expect me to bel

~nick~“I fucking knew it,” I muttered as Death and I stepped out of Lily’s hospital room.My fists clenched at my sides.“That whole story was bullshit. I felt it the second he started talking.”Death followed beside me, silent for a moment before stopping me.“So what?”I turned toward him.“What?”“You want me to handle him?”I stared at him.I could see the anger burning behind his eyes. The same anger I felt.Slick didn’t just betray Lily.He betrayed all of us.And in this club, betrayal wasn’t something we brushed aside. But I knew Death.I knew what happened when he let that darkness take over.“No.”The word came out firm.Death raised an eyebrow.“I’ll handle him.”A part of me wanted to let Death loose. I wanted Slick to feel every ounce of pain he had caused Lily. But I also knew my sister would never forgive me if I pushed Death back into that place again. Not for this. Not even for someone like Slick.I started walking toward the waiting room.“When I’m done with that mo

~nick~“Tell me exactly what happened,” I demanded, keeping my eyes locked on Slick. He met my stare without flinching. Despite being one of the younger members, there was something about him that was hard to read.“I recognized the van from the security footage,” he began. “I tailed it to see where it was going. After a while, the driver realized I was following him and opened fire.”I motioned for him to continue.“The driver lost control after a few shots. The van swerved off the road and crashed. I called Death over the radio because I wasn’t about to walk into an unknown situation alone.”I studied him carefully.“And Lily?”“I found her in the back of the van,” he answered, his expression hardening. “She’d already been beaten pretty badly. I got her out and stayed with her until the guys showed up.”He shook his head.“It was bad, Prez.”My jaw clenched.I wanted to believe him.Everything he said lined up with what we’d found, but something still didn’t sit right with me.There
