CHAPTER NINE

~ Gina ~

Three weeks later...

"Seriously? How is that my fault?” I asked

He wanted to answer me when my stomach grumbled again and he had no choice than to drop the topic.

"Eat something first, then we will make babies” he smirked and my mouth hung open, not believing my ears.

"Babies? How can I make babies when I’m still a baby?" I asked him as he walked back towards the gas cooker

"Well, it doesn’t matter, as long as I’ll be here to take care of you both. So you have nothing to worry about. The only thing you need to do is to spread your legs and enjoy the moment, besides you are no longer a baby” he grinned widely 

"How can you be so sure sir?” I blushed looking down

"Hmm…. because babies are not seductive”

"Is that so?” I chuckled

"Yes, young lady” he nodded with so much pride. I don't blame him anyway, he knows me too well. Not withstanding, I pushed further 

"Do you mind explaining how I sedu...” I didn’t get to finish my statement because he stuffed my mouth with pancake

"Trust me honey, you know” he answered seeming to know my question even without me completing it.

"Wow, that’s strange” I said after swallowing what I had in my mouth

"What is strange?” he asked facing me

"You’re so sure that I seduced you but I don’t even know when and how” I asked, amazed by his conviction.

"Most of the time, it was unintentional though. You just have a way of making me lose my composure” he shrugged

"Now I’m so proud of myself” I smirked

"No, don’t do that. Don’t get all cocky” he tried hard to hide the smile that crept up on his face.

"There’s nothing wrong with being cocky especially since I’m the only one that has that much effect on you” I sneaked up behind him and spanked him real hard and ran way

"Ouch, what was that for?” Xander cried out and chased after me

"Nothing, just wanted to do that” I winked at him and laughed while running and dodging him

"If you know what is good for you, you’d better stop running” he shouted playfully

"Hell no” I shouted but unfortunately he caught up with me and threw me over his shoulder and began walking up the stairs

"Why are we going upstairs when we’ve not eaten? Besides the meal will get cold bro?” I hit his shoulder repeatedly but it had no effect on him because he chuckled

A hard slap landed on my ass cheek and I screamed because it was painful

"Why did you do that?” I queried as I landed on our bed and Xander pinned my hands to the bed while lying on me, not completely resting her weight on me so as not to crush me.

"Bro? seriously? Listen to me babe, you do not call me bro because I am not your brother, I am your man, so you’ll address me as your husband, your lover, your baby. Do you hear me?” he groaned 

"Let me remind you that we are not yet married, bro" I scoffed

This time, the frustratuon is evident in his eyes and without another word, he smashed his lips on mine, kissing me with urgency like I am about to disappear.

I’m sure ya’ll know how that went.

This is the fifth week since I moved in with the love of my life and it has been filled with happiness and love. Today is Wednesday and Xander is currently at the office. I plan on surprising him with his favorite meal. 

Ria, the maid helped me get some stuffs from the supermarket yesterday and I told her not to come in today so she could rest.

At first I opposed the idea of hiring a maid. However, Xander insisted because according to him I needed a lot of rest and he also said that he doesn’t want his woman stressing herself.

I entered the kitchen and started prepping the things I need. At first I planned on making Cherry-Bourbon chicken wings but changed my mind when I remembered he had that some days ago, so I decided to go with grilled steak with potato skewers and peach cobbler trifle.

Few minutes after I was done cooking, my phone rang and a smile crept onto my face as I saw who the caller is. Quickly, I dried my hands with a clean napkin and picked up my phone.

"What’s up babe?” I 

"Nothing much just starving”

"Oh dear, I just finished preparing your favorite meal. Do you want me to bring it over to your office or you will come back home during lunch break to eat?”

"I would have loved to do the latter but I have a lot of work to do”

"So I guess we would go with the former then”

"Not really. Reid is coming home to pick up the file I forgot in the morning. So when he comes just give the meal to him”

"Alright no problem, but who is Reid?” I asked out of curiosity

"Oh, he’s my younger brother”

"W...what? your brother? Does he know about us? Is it safe? Will he tell your family?” I blabbered

Calm down babe, yes he knows about us and yes it is safe and no he won’t tell my family” he laughed

"Oh, oh alright then” soon the doorbell rang and I walked towards the door.

"I think he’s here”

"Okay babe, see you soon, I love you and thanks for the meal" 

"I love you too” with that I hung up

The doorbell rang again and I shouted ‘coming’ even though the person won’t hear me since the house is sound proof.

Quickly I opened the door and a younger version of Xander was standing at the door. As soon as he saw me smiled brightly, displaying his pearl like teeth.

Before opening the door, I wondered the kind of person he would be. Thousands of thoughts filled my head.

Would he be kind to me? Would he be snobbish? I was really tensed but I’m very grateful that he smiled because it kind of calmed my nerves.

"Hello sister in-law” he squealed like he has known me for a long time.

"Huh? Sis….” I stuttered, shocked at the new title 

"Take a chill pill Gina, didn’t mean to startle you” he laughed out loudly

"You didn’t, I was just.. just...” I hid my face trying to hide how embarrassed I am.

"Yeah I understand. You weren’t but go take a look at the mirror you are all red” he laughed really hard

"I’m not, that’s just my complexion” I quickly said and walked back inside as he followed along shutting the door behind him, still laughing.

"Really? Didn’t know such complexion exists though” he chuckled

"Oh, help me God” I covered my face again 

"Hmmm, what smells so good in here?” he asked as he walked towards the kitchen

"Well I just finished cooking. Right, I’m going to need a little bit of help from you” giving him a puppy face

"That’s okay but first I need to eat” he pleaded with his eyes too, climbing onto a kitchen stool.

"Of course” I took out a dish and served him

"Wow, this looks yummy” he ate a spoonful of the meal and hummed in satisfaction. You might be asking that how am I so sure, well I can proudly say I cook far better than a lot of professional chefs and cooks, so yeah I know anyone will enjoy my cooking.

"This tastes so damn good” he gave me a thumbs up

"Thank you Reid” I smiled and turned back to finish packing Xander’s meal after which I went up to Xander’s home office to take the file he forgot at home.

Few minutes later, I was back in the kitchen, and was surprised to see that he had cleared his plate.

"That was fast” I thought

"Yeah, I was fast” he chuckled as if he heard my thought

"I laughed while nodding my head.

"Please help me deliver these to Xander” I handed the lunch box and file to him.

"Anything for you, my lady” he bowed with a smile

"Thank you Mr. Reid” I smiled brightly 

"You are welcome sister in-law. I would have loved to stay longer so we could chat but I’m kind of in a hurry” he smiled and started heading outside

"For the record you’re a very good cook. Do you mind if I come by some time?” he asked

"Thank you for the compliment and you are free to come by anytime you want” I smiled

"Cheers to more free delicious food” he yelled as he entered his car and drove off

I smiled wholeheartedly because I just realized that maybe I’ve been worried for nothing.

Xander’s family might be actually easy to get along with. I thought…
