James POV.

The very first thing I did when I woke up was to roll over my bed and search for my phone and dial Calla's digits. I rubbed my eyes gently and forced them to stay open and awake. l haven't spoken to her all day. The time difference has become harder to keep up with and I keep thinking of how horrible it might even become when she begins work and I get busy here too.

I didn't want to burden my mind with draining thoughts of doubt. We were already doing well so far and I was willing to keep being intentional about it.

Her voice was able to send harmonious frequency to change the whole energetic field across space and time. It was whatever physics couldn't understand. Maybe,I was exaggerating but it always brought me a whole sense of relief and calmness knowing that I still exist in her world as brightly as she did in mine.

The apartment was empty and only the sound was her voice floating through the phone so delicately. If Gus was home right now ,he would have made fun of how

Calla's POV The next few weeks since Asher and Ginny's birthday party had been very busy for me. It was the lunch of our first Halloween line and even though we weren't officially open here in New York,we were still creating lines before the official opening. Our autumn and Halloween line were ready before our official lunch by New Year's.After work,I went back home. I almost had an heart attack as a figure jumped in front of me the moment I stepped inside my apartment. I tried to catch my breath when Ginny removed the head of the chicken costume she was dressed in."Oh my God!" I screamed as I tried to recover from the shock I was experiencing."Happy Halloween!" She yelled with a big and fulfilled smile on her face."Ginny,I gave you an emergency key ,not a give-me-a-heart-attack-key."Her laughter got louder as she ran around me making a chicken noise. I chuckled and walked further into my apartment. I dropped my bag on the couch."woah, you're really having fun with this?" I sai

James' POV "Welcome back James." My therapist said. I was back on the large sofa covered in pillows in the small room that looked like nature's paradise. I took a quick glance at the large frame of bird behind her ears and then, back at her."Hi." I said awkwardly. "I'm really sorry about storming off the other day." She smiled generously. "It's okay, most first interactions are with a little bit of... resistance."I sighed and picked up one of the pillows and held it in my hands. It was knitted with soft yarn and I felt a calming sensation as I held it. I couldn't put it down,it reminded of the kittened sweaters grandma use to gift us during the holidays."So let's start. Are you ready?" The asked. Her glasses rested low on her nose as she bent her head and looked at me thoroughly from above her lens. She had a dark brown eyes with gray spots that looked like little maps in her eyes. "Yeah...yes." I said. She smiles at me like she always does and opens her notepad. She crossed her

Calla's POV"Happy birthday!" I yelled as Ginny opened the door of her apartment. September ended like a blink of an eye and I realized I had spent a month in New York. Soon,it was October and somewhere, someone was already getting ready to pull up their Christmas decorations. The 8th of October was different,in the Jonas House, because it was the twins birthday. From the moment I woke up,the bumming sound of music from apartment 4D vibrated in my apartment. Mostly, because it was directly underneath it. While Ginny had marked the entire first week of October to be her birth week, I haven't seen Asher anywhere.I walked into the apartment with the cake and a big smile on my face. She pretends to wipe tears from her eyes before she collected it from me. "Aww...thank's Calla!""You're welcome." I said as I walked in.She placed the box of cake on the kitchen counter top and opened it. She used her index finger to take a scoop of the frosting into her mouth and smiled brightly at me,it

James' POV "Hello James." A middle age woman with a thick framed glasses sat opposite me with a notepad in her hands.I smiled and adjusted my back in order to be comfortable on the chair. "Hello."I finally decided to give a call to the number on the therapist card Gus gave me. I booked an appointment and it was my first session. The room was very nature themed. It had wooden decorations, plants and fresh flowers displayed around. There were pictures of birds. So many birds. Different types, painted, printed and some were hand sketched. They were all framed and hung in the wall. The women had a very distinct smile,it wasn't too wide because it will feel forced but it also wasn't narrow. It was a perfect measure of warmth that a smile can produce. "Are you comfortable?" She asked.I nodded."Why don't you go ahead and tell me about yourself?" She smiled. She had a perfectly done veneer and her glass rested on the tip of her nose. She a thick locks for hair and her skin was brown like le

James' POVI sat by the cliff side with my legs hanging on the air, searching for a reason. Ever since I was a little boy I'd get this feeling like I was being strangled and in that moment my soul would leave my body,I'd see myself gasping for air, suffocating, dying. And I'd be stay still-- watching , without trying to stop it. I wanted it to end-- for me to end.Growing up with an abusive father whose affluence held the world in a mist that he was a good man was hard. But I didn't realize how my suffering had been a series of loops by my enabling mother over some stupid summer fling she couldn't get over. I wanted more than anything to stop feeling shitty. To hide my strips as good as Vinora does. I was more fragile and it broke me. More than I ever thought was possible.Earlier today,I had promised Gus I was going to get help. Right after our first day at work, I jogged down to the local bar in a part of town where life was more real, and more slow paced. I sat there,on my second bo
