Andrea’s Point Of View

As I head inside I already feel like I've made a mistake.

Not because Haley is staying with her father. I know she's going to have a wonderful time with him, and honestly, she deserves it. But watching them drive away leaves a strange ache in my chest that I can't quite explain.

Maybe it's because I'm not used to being away from my daughter.

Or maybe it's because, for a brief moment, I got to hold Rafael again, and now I'm left wondering whether he felt the same

  • Winning Back My Rejected Mate   Chapter 77

Andrea’s Point of View After a full day of spending time together, we finally make our way down to the dining hall. Haley is walking between Rafael and me, holding both our hands and swinging her little arms as she chats excitedly about everything we've done today. “Daddy?” She suddenly asks and he looks down at her. “Yes, princess?” “Is Grandma going to be at dinner?” She asks and Rafael frowns slightly. “I don't know, sweetheart. Maybe. Why do you ask?” Haley shrugs, looking down at her feet. “Just wondering. I missed her today.” There's a little sadness in her voice, and I notice Rafael hears it too. He stops walking and bends down to her level, gently pulling her into a hug. “I'll tell you what. If she's not at dinner, we can go find her before bedtime and say goodnight. How does that sound?” He suggests and Haley nods against his shoulder. “Yes, please.” “Then that's what we'll do.” He says with a smile before he kisses the top of her head. He stra

  • Winning Back My Rejected Mate   Chapter 76

Andrea’s Point of View By the time I finish my last bit of work, I’m actually feeling all giddy and more than ready to close my laptop and get on the road to the airport. Even though I am not entirely sure I’m ready for what comes next. I stand in my room, checking that I haven’t forgotten anything before reaching for my handbag. I’m going back to Rafael’s pack. Just for a few days. That’s what I keep reminding myself. A few days with Rafael and Haley. A chance to spend time together without making any promises about what happens afterwards. Still, the thought of returning to his territory makes my stomach flutter. What if things feel awkward? What if I don’t know how to act around him when we are back there? What if being back there brings up memories I’m not ready to deal with? I shake my head. I can't spend the entire journey worrying about things that haven't happened yet. I grab my suitcase and head downstairs where my taxi is waiting. ------------------- The flight

  • Winning Back My Rejected Mate   Chapter 75

Andrea’s Point of View I take another sip of my coffee before looking at Rafael, who is just quietly watching me from his chair, his hands wrapped around his mug as he waits me to continue. "So... Where do we go from here? I know we want to try... But what does that look like for you?" I ask. He places his mug down and folds his hand on the table in front of him. "Well, I've been thinking about that. Actually, I've been thinking about it for a while." He takes a moment before he continues. "Andy, I want you and Hayley to come to my pack. Not just for a visit. Not just for a weekend or a few days. I want you both to come and live with me. Permanently." He says and my fingers tighten around my coffee mug. "Rafael..." "Let me finish, baby."He gently cuts me off. I nod my head, and he takes a breath before he continues. "I know we've only just started trying again, and I know there is still a lot we need to work through. I'm not expecting you to suddenly forget eve

  • Winning Back My Rejected Mate   Chapter 74

Andrea’s Point of View "Can we go bowling again next Sunday?" I look up from my plate to find Hayley staring at Rafael with her big, hopeful eyes. He pauses halfway through cutting his food and looks at her. "You really want to go gain, princess?" He asks and she enthusiastically nods her head. "Yes! And putt-putt! And ice cream!"She says excitedly. I laugh, reaching for my glass of water. "Seems like someone has already planned our next family outing."I say teasingly and she quickly nods her head. "Of course!" Hayley says as if it's the most obvious thing in the world. "It was fun!" She says and Rafael grins at her. "Well, I don't see why we can't make it a family tradition. Every Sunday, when we're back home, we can find something fun to do together." He says and Hayley's eyes light up. "Every Sunday?"She asks and he nods his head. "Yes... Every Sunday we can manage it." He promises. "Sometimes we might have other things to do, but we'll always tr

  • Winning Back My Rejected Mate   Chapter 73

Andrea's Point of View "Come on! Ice cream!" Haley impatiently calls out to us and Rafael laughs as we follow her. His hand tightens around mine and my heart flutters but I push it down and try to focus on their conversation. "Do you know what ice-cream you want?" Rafael asks and Haley immediately nods her head. "Chocolate!"She says without hesitation as she points excitedly at the ice cream display in front of us. I crouch down next her. "Chocolate again? Are you sure? You had chocolate last time." I check and she firmly nods her head. "Yes. I'm sure. Chocolate is my favourite. It's the best." She says matter of factly and Rafael, who is standing next to us with his hands in his pockets chuckles. "She's got you there, baby." He says and I look up at him. "You're supposed to help me convince her to try different things." I say and he shakes his head. "Nope. I am not getting between a little girl and her favourite ice cream." He says and I shake my h

  • Winning Back My Rejected Mate   Chapter 72

Andrea's Point of View By the time we finish bowling, Hayley has decided that she is the best player in the building. She has also decided that she deserves a prize for that exact reason. "Daddy, can I have a teddy bear?" She asks sweetly and Rafael looks towards the little counter where several toys are displayed that she is pointing at. "Didn't you get a sticker for bowling?"He asks with an arched brow. Hayley holds up the sticker on her shirt. "Yes, but I want a teddy too." I press my lips together, trying not to laugh. Rafael looks at me for help and I shrug. "Sorry, handsome. You're on your own." He narrows his eyes at me. "You're supposed to be my partner." "I am. I'm just enjoying the show." Hayley tugs on his hand. "Please, Daddy?" She asks, pouting up at him and he sighs dramatically. "How am I supposed to say no to that face? Fine you can have one."He says, shaking his head and Haley grins widely up at him. I laugh as he walks towards
