Chapter 4 I'm Not In Love With You

Olivia settled in the headquarters of her large company, she would only be there for two months, long enough to finish her unfinished business, it was almost time to leave, when the door of her office rang.

She wasn't expecting any visitors, so intrigued she opened the door, her eyes widened in surprise, when she realized who was on the other side of the door.

"What are you doing here?" He asked Harrison

"Good afternoon, Olivia, I've come to talk to you. The woman was reluctant to listen to him, but her ex-husband's weak gaze made her agree.

Harrison entered Olivia's office with the caution of someone treading uncharted territory. The air was filled with the accumulated tension of years of disagreements and open wounds. Olivia, though intrigued, maintained an unflappable expression, ready to listen to what he had to say.

"I didn't think I'd ever see you again in my life, least of all here at my company," Olivia said, crossing her arms.

Harrison looked away, a gesture that reflected some discomfort.

"Olivia, I needed to talk to you. I've been reflecting on everything that's happened between us," Harrison began in a voice full of sincerity

Olivia listened to him in silence, showing no signs of emotion.

"I know I made mistakes, that I hurt you in ways I can't even fully comprehend. But I've also realized what you meant to me, and... Harrison hesitated for a moment before continuing. And I realized that I never stopped loving you.

Olivia raised an eyebrow, expressing disbelief at Harrison's words.

"After everything that's happened, now you decide to show up and declare your love?" Olivia replied with a tone of disdain.

Harrison sighed, acknowledging the validity of the question.

"I know it's hard to believe, Olivia, but I've made mistakes. I've lost the most valuable thing I had, and now I realize I can't live without you.

Harrison's words echoed through the silence of the office, creating a tense pause as Olivia processed the revelation

"Well, Harrison, what do you expect me to do with everything you're telling me?" Olivia asked defiantly.

"Olivia, I want you to forgive me, I want you to give me a chance so we can talk about the two of you again, and why not?" Achieving Your Forgiveness

Olivia laughed ironically, looked Harrison up and down, and began to surround him with her footsteps.

"Do you think I'm stupid or what?" I've always known that you never loved me. Where did this sudden love for me come from?

"I don't know what you mean Olivia, I think it was a mistake to come here," Harrison shook his head and disappointed wanted to leave, but she stopped him.

"It wasn't a mistake Harrison, everything you're telling me is a mistake, but if you want me to be honest, it's clear that I don't believe in you, I'm completely sure that your interests are different, I know that your company is bankrupt and will soon go out of business, and you've come to me, because you need a lifeline.

Olivia's words left Harrison shocked. How did he know? She was a cunning woman, not the naïve one she always thought. However, he denied everything.

"Olivia, of course you don't, I'm talking to you from the heart, but I understand that you don't want to talk to me and that you think like that, I cause you too much pain.

"Harrison, so you can see that I am a kind woman, I will help you.

Harrison raised his head in confusion, looked at her suggestively, and waited for her words.

"I can help you, as long as you give me your company.

"I'm not understanding anything, Olivia, what do you mean?"

"As you heard, I just want your company to work for me, I want you to work for me, I'll pay you a salary as CEO, one that you can live comfortably with while your company flourishes again.

Olivia's words were a hard dagger piercing Harrison's chest, he never expected that the woman who once swore so much love to him, and was once at his feet, would be talking to him like that.

"I'll never do that, Olivia!" You're humiliating me," Harrison rebutted hurt

"I didn't humiliate you, you were the one who humiliated yourself, believing that you could come and tell me a lot of lies, thinking that I was going to fall at your feet.

Olivia looked at him contemptuously, as she fiddled with her fingers, slipping away and putting back on a beautiful diamond ring.

"Olivia, tell me, look me in the eye," Harrison slowly approached her, "Look me in the eye and tell me you don't feel anything for me anymore."

She remained silent, while appreciating those gray eyes for which she sighed so much at the time, she wanted to throw herself into the arms of that man, kiss him to the last of the centimeters, but she could not allow that, he hurt her, he hurt her and now he was looking for her, not because there was a real love, but because he discovered her true identity.

"Harrison, you must understand that I am no longer in love with you, now please leave, if you decide to accept my proposal, you are welcome, otherwise, do not touch the floors of my company again, because I swear I will call security."

Harrison felt how his ego was trampled on about a thousand times, the woman humiliated him in such a way, that he decided not to knock on the doors of his company again, or so he thought at the time, because he had no idea that the building of his company was about to be auctioned off by the bank.

Possibly he would return to his knees to beg his wife for a second chance, because she had everything for a man like him to surrender to her charms.

On the other hand, Olivia was loaded with a lot of pain in her heart and the infinite desires to take revenge on her ex-husband were exposed to the surface, she just wanted him to feel a little of the pain that she caused him, and humiliate him as the Martens family did with her, she always had the power, but after her divorce she came back stronger than ever,  With a multimillion-dollar inheritance in tow, which would set the world on fire.
