Damien’s POV

Enzo leans back in the chair across from my desk with his arms folded, eyes narrowed at the digital map projected onto the wall.

“We already know the general location that he's in but Felix won’t stay anywhere obvious,” he says. “If he’s smart, he’ll circle places that already have a lot of noise. Ports. Industrial zones.”

I tap a location on the screen. “What about the old east docks?”

Enzo shrugs. “It's possible. But he knows you associate that area with—”

A knock interrupts him.

“Come in,” I say, already slightly annoyed.

My assistant, Jonah, walks in with his arms full—folders, tablets, printed reports stacked.

He drops them carefully onto my desk.

“These are the financial audits you asked for,” he says. “And the security breach summaries. And the legal team flagged three contracts they think you should—”

I exhale hard, leaning back in my chair.

Jonah pauses, reading my expression. “Sir… respectfully, you have a lot of shit to do.”

I sigh and nod tersely. “I'll handl

  • Winning Heaven's Heart   CHAPTER FORTY-NINE: THE NEXT TARGET

Heaven’s POVSydney stretches, cracking her neck as she checks the time. “Okay, I officially can’t see straight anymore. Go home. Before I start designing with caffeine-induced confidence.”I laugh, gathering my stuff into my bag. “Sure.”She walks me to the door, then pulls me into a quick hug. “Seriously, thank you. Today would’ve been a disaster without you.”I smile. “Anytime.”As I step into the hallway, she calls after me, “Tell your billionaire husband I love him!”I wave without turning. “I will not.”*...*...*...*...*...*The elevator ride down is quiet. By the time I reach the lobby, my shoulders finally relax. The day was long, but good. Productive.Matteo and Luca, my security detail, are already waiting.“Mrs. Wiles,” Matteo says, opening the door.I smile politely and step outside, the evening air brushing against my skin. I nod to both of them before sliding into the back seat. The door shuts with a solid thump.I buckle in, exhaling as the car pulls away from the curb,

  • Winning Heaven's Heart   CHAPTER FORTY-EIGHT: THE ENEMY OF MY ENEMY

Lilian's POVGosh, I don't know why my useless maid won't stop bothering me. Mira has been going on and on about this food for hours.“Miss Lilian, please,” she says again, holding the tray pleadingly. “You need to eat something.”I can't even be bothered to look at her. I’m sitting in the vanity, staring at my own reflection, tracing the perfect lines of my face with my eyes. How could anyone resist this? How could he resist this? What the fuck happened to us?One moment, Damien was head over heels in love with me—obsessed, really. He didn't give a damn about his vows or his useless wife. Now, all of a sudden… he's what? In love with her??My stomach suddenly rumbles but I ignore it knowing my perfect figure has been curated from years of discipline.“Miss Lilian, please…” Mira begs again, her voice grating on my last nerve. And even though she probably means well, she's getting on my fucking nerves.“I said I'm not hungry!! Get out,” I snap, finally whipping my head around to glare

  • Winning Heaven's Heart   CHAPTER FORTY-SEVEN: A SEAT AT THE TABLE

Damien’s POVThe city peels past my windshield as I drive. My hands are steady on the wheel revealing my barely contained fury.I'm trying not to lose it. Really, I am.My father used to say a man’s worth could be measured by how well he could command a room and control his emotions. As I turn onto the private building, I park at the side, cut the engine, and sit for a beat longer than necessary.I laugh self deprecatingly at the situation I'm faced with. I didn’t expect it.I never would have expected it from him. And that, more than anything, irritates me.I step out of the car, taking a deep breath to appear calm. Cold. Inside, the floor is polished stone. The building's design is truly immaculate. The men stationed near the entrance nod respectfully as I enter. There was a time I thought I’d choose differently.Back then, the business was something I wanted nothing to do with. A family legacy that I had detested. But the world has a way of reminding you where you belong. When

  • Winning Heaven's Heart   CHAPTER FORTY-SIX: I'M A PROFESSIONAL, I PROMISE

Heaven’s POVThe moment my legs start functioning again, I beeline straight for the bathroom before anyone can get a good look at me.I grip the sink and wince at my reflection. My hair looks like I tried to wrestle someone... and lost. My cheeks are still pink, and my neck—Dear God. Did he have to mark me too?I splash cold water on my face, trying to cool the heat still rolling through me. I dab at my lipstick, reapply, blot, reapply again because it’s still not looking right. I grab my comb and attempt to smooth my hair back into something resembling “I am a professional adult” instead of “my billionaire husband just pleasured me in the car.”I exhale shakily.“Okay. Okay. You’re fine. Everything is totally normal.”My reflection raises a very judgmental eyebrow but I can't do anything about it so I groan and step out of the restroom. My phone buzzes.Damien: Have a good day at work, babe.Me: I can’t even walk straight.Damien: Not my fault you’re easy for me, baby.My knees thr

  • Winning Heaven's Heart   CHAPTER FORTY-FIVE: OUR KIND OF NORMAL

Damien’s POV She’s still curled in my lap, warm and soft, her cheek pressed over my heart like she’s listening to it beat just for her.My fingers trace idle patterns along her spine, through the thin silk of the little slip she slept in.The room smells faintly of sex and her vanilla-and-jasmine scent, and for the first time in hours, my head is blissfully quiet.I press my lips to her temple and feel her smile against my shirt.“You going into the office today, baby?” I ask, my voice still rough from what she did to me against the door. Her head jerks up, eyes widening. “Oh—that’s right.” She sits up straighter, hands gripping my shirt lightly. “I actually wanted to tell you something.”My brows lift. “What is it, baby?”Her cheeks flush that perfect shade of pink I’ll never get tired of. She swats my chest lightly. “Well, Sydney’s major investor for the new line just pulled out. Like, completely bailed. She’s panicking because they’re supposed to show at Paris Fashion Week in eigh
