Night Of Thoughts

Some students hurried out after finishing all their classes today. William stayed out late because he didn't want to mix with the crowd. From the third floor, where their classroom was, he walked slowly until he reached the school grounds. From where he stood, he saw a familiar figure of a man standing in front of the guard's house, as if that boy was waiting for someone. He just kept on walking until he got out of the school campus. Behind him, he heard the quick footsteps of a person running, and soon a man walked along beside him. He knew it was the man who had pulled him up earlier and had tugged him to run away after he was hit by a car, but he didn't pay attention to the other guy. He is still confused about his experience this morning and wonders how come he was not heavily injured and only felt a slight pain and saw tiny bruises on his elbows after the car collided with him.

The two continued to walk slowly without paying attention to each other. William is still in his conscious mind and the one next to him is just focusing on their way and sometimes staring at William. They were a block away from the Styles' house when William's walking companion suddenly turned right. William stopped walking when the young man spoke loudly, “I'm Lawrence, nice to meet you, William.”

Another puzzle for William is how the man found out his name even though they had never met before today. He looked at the road the young man had taken and saw that he was already quite far away. For no apparent reason, William followed him. Their distance was not too far, just enough to see the man in front of him, yet not too close for him to expose himself. What William didn't know was that the young man had noticed him earlier. He just smiled and let William tail him. When the young man reached the corner, he turned left. William immediately accelerated his walk, but the young man he was following was gone when he also turned to where the mysterious young man turned.

As he made his way back, he came across a boy who he thought was in his tens, wearing a blue shirt with the word “Lucky” printed on it. William immediately wondered if he was really lucky when the accident happened earlier. Two possibilities fought in his mind, and after he convinced himself that he was just really lucky, he felt better and his mind became calm. After taking a deep breath, he walked faster than he had a while ago so he could go home.

“I'm home!” William's lively utterances as he entered their house He knew that his parents were carrying a heavy load, so he didn't want to add to what they thought and decided to keep the accident that happened earlier to himself.

“How's your day, kid?” asked his daddy, sitting on the couch in the living room after pausing the video he was watching on his phone.

“Dad, I'm not a child anymore. It's still okay; nothing has changed. By the way, dad, where is mom? ” William replied and approached his dad to kiss his cheek.

“She's in the kitchen making your delicious dinner,” his father replied, before playing the wrestling video he had paused awhile ago.

“It just smells delicious,” said William when he reached their kitchen and saw his mother cooking for dinner.

“Because it's for you,” his mother smiled, and then added the question, "How's school today?"

William smiled before saying, “It's okay.”

His mother must have known everything, because she was not persuaded at all. She extinguished the fire of what she was cooking and approached the son and asked, “Is there something wrong?”

William responded, “Nothing, I'm just really tired today,” holding his mother's hand to reassure her.

His mother held him and slightly rubbed his face and said, “Go to your room and take a rest first. I'll just call you when everything is ready.”

William's mom resumed cooking when her son left for his room. Upon entering, he locked the door, then sat on the end of his bed and first took off his shoes and socks. He then took off his shirt, causing it to expose his porcelain-like complexion. He stood up from sitting, then unbuttoned and took off his jeans. He also took off his underwear, revealing his whole naked body to no one. He badly needs to take a shower to refresh his mind. He got up from his bed and sat across from his PC. He conducted research on the strange accidents that occurred, and this convinced him that there were other, more unbelievable events than what happened to him. He sighed in relief as he continued to browse the internet. A notification popped up when one of his schoolmates posted a link in the forum.
