Chapter 3

Hector couldn't stop thinking of her since she stormed out of the palace yesterday, he could recall her screaming down the hall as she head towards her chamber. Her hair was perfectly curled with strands of gold. her lips tick and inviting. He was intrigued by her audacity, no one would dare work into the palace uninvited but she did, not minding if she would be torn apart by wolfs. His wolf howled in excitement as she mentioned she needed him he had no idea why. Her presence weakens him no woman had that effect on him even his deceased mother. He fear what Kyle said was through... she weakens him and that was not good, especially for an alpha.

Adina took the next turn heading towards Sophia's chamber. filling guilt for lagging in her duty, Her days since her arrival on wolfclan were overwhelming, it felt more like home with her kind. female warriors who were dangerous as the next male warrior, strong and fierce in battle. they didn't give her the look of disdain that she constantly got from her people. They were rumors of her not being a full woman, whispers of her generation caused because of her strength in battle, warriors who had balls to tell her no man wanted a warrior for a wife, though they didn't survive the light of day, it still hurt. Knowing those she fought to protect despised her, those her generation live for couldn't accept her for who she was...a female warrior.

"I would love to meet the lady," Adina said to yulu who was assigned to clean Sophia's front lorn.

"Who should I say seeks her presence?" yulu asked while trying to recall who Adina was.

"Am Adina her guard, "Adina replied trying not to get angry by the questions thrown at her she wouldn't fault her though she was rarely seen with the lady.

Startled by her reply yulu apologized. Adina walked into Sophia's chamber nervous she had no idea what awaited her.

she sighted Sophia from the front door, she was seated facing the window, the Rays of sun penetrating the reddish material used for cover, she couldn't see her face so her emotions were impossible to read.

"You look astonishing today your grace."Adina complemented trying to lighten the mood.

"Seat," Sophia commanded gesturing towards the seat beside her.

"Am sorry my lady, I lost track...."Adina trying to apologize before things get any worst.

"Help me escape, "Sophia said interrupting Adina.

"What!!!" Adina exclaimed she couldn't believe what Sophia was suggesting.

"Are you trying to get us killed or what? it's suicidal trying to escape from wolfclan and I couldn't even if I decide to help you, also I recall  someone saying I couldn't take on a whole pack of wolves." Adina snorted.

"You have to help me escape am losing my mind." Her plea to Adina was interrupted by yulu who came in unnoticed.

"The Lord is here to see you." the room froze the minute yulu said those words, Sophia's heartbeat increasing at another pace, her legs shaking like a dog in heat, her bosom full like a virgin about to be defiled by the one she loved. She fears he has that effect on her. The one she sought to avoid, The one who took her from her home kicking and screaming, she couldn't let him off that easy, she couldn't break her promise to her mother, She was no slave to sensation.

"The king came to see me....?" she asked now facing yulu, directing her question to her.

"Am afraid not my lady. The Lord kyle, chief guard of the wolfclan seek your presence." She explained

He came bearing a gift."  she added noticing the change in her countenance.

"Send him in," she ordered while adjusting the Hem of her dress.

A few seconds later Kyle stepped into her chamber. He was a six feet tall light-skinned man, averagely built with eyes like that of Hector. His dark brown hair reaching the top of his butt was not like that of Hector but he had the physique of a God.

"The Lord sent me to you," Kyle said seconds after his arrival, his eyes scrutinizing her. "This was the human girl who made Hector uncomfortable, she was indeed beautiful."

"Why do you seek audience with me?" she asked her eyes going towards the parcel in his hands.

"The Lord requests your presence tonight at the hunger games ceremony and he expects you to wear what's in the parcel." Kyle took two steps back having heard from the guards the wrath of Sophia. She was the first to live in the palace hall with her head intact having not been invited by the alpha.

The word hunger struck a cord on Sophia's brain. Many ideas ran through her head she imagined herself being chewed down by hungry wolfs with her defenseless against them. As fast as lightning she threw the parcel at him swearing at the same time.

"What kind of sick fuck is he." she caused. " Your Lord couldn't bare to eat me in rags so he decide to send me a parting gift." she snorted, picking the make-up box beside her table to fling at him. Lucky for Kyle he was a wolf, the impact of the makeup box would have sent him to oblivion.

"leave!!!." she screamed at Kyle who stood there perplexed trying to understand the reason for her anger.

It's been a few hours since Kyle visited. Sophia paced from one end of her room to another, she needed to leave wolfclan. She needed to speak with Adina who took her to leave immediately after Kyle walked in. Adina would never have left her with a wolf, especially one who took no oat to not harm her. She fear Adina was falling for their charm and it wouldn't be long before they strike.

"My lady." yulu called out from the back of the door where she hid to avoid her head coming in contact with a make-up box.

"Not now yulu," Sophia warned.

Adina walked into Sophia's chamber with a parcel in hand, she was called upon while Kyle spoke to Sophia. She was invited by the king to the hunger games and was given a dress to put on.

"Why is your room in a mess?" Adina questioned immediately as she walked into Sophia's room trying to avoid stepping on the remains of a supposed makeup box.

"We have to leave wolfclan this...." her words trailed off. "What the hell are you holding in your hands?" Sophia questioned noticing the parcel in Adina's possession.

"I was invited to the hunger games just like you and was asked to put on the dress contained in the parcel," Adina replied still standing a few feet from the door.

"We are not honoring the invite right!!?" Sophia inquired with her hopes held high hoping Adina would not dash them to the ground.

"Of course, we will honor them." She replied taking a few steps back with the parcel still in hand. "It would be considered rude declining an invite by your host, most of all the king of the wolf clan."

"It doesn't seem rude when you're life is at stake." she fired at Adina who stood feet away with one hand akimbo and the parcel in another with frustration written all over her face. "Not that I expect you to understand. Since you hang out more often with them." Sophia fired at her again this time attacking her ego and loyalty.

" I won't stand here and watch you insult me." Adina fired back. "I and my ancestors have served the king and his ancestors way before you were born. I refuse to watch you question my  loyalty to your family." Adina shouted angrily as she walked towards the door infuriated by Sophia, who should be the last person to speak I'll of her even when faced with unbeatable evidence.

"Yulu packs my things am living tonight," Sophia said to yulu, who stood now outside eavesdropping on Sophia's conversation with Adina.

Adina may be convinced to go to the party but there was no way in hell she was going there, being dismembered by wolfs wasn't on her list of one thousand ways to die.

Adina walked hastily towards her chamber in anger. No one has ever questioned her loyalty not even Sophia's father. She was blinded by anger that she had no idea Kyle was coming her way until she crashed into him.

"Am sorry my lord." she apologized, trying not to show any atom of anger.

"What bothers you?" he asked, noticing how hard she tried to hide her emotion.

"Nothing bothers me, my lord," she replied this time looking at him directly. She was struck by his beauty he had the face of an angel his hair smooth as silk, it was packed in a ponytail no wonder she couldn't recognize him as the one who came to give Sophia her invitation.

"I wished to be left alone," she said this time Hasting her step towards her chamber.
