Wolfe Ranch Part 3, Chapter 2- Colorado Springs
Jasper Our weekend in Estes Park went by quickly, so we found some quick temporary work for the week in the area before moving on to the next rodeo. It was important to stay busy while making a little money. We arrived in Colorado Springs this morning for the Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo. Corbin signed up for the bronc event and I signed up for the bull riding event again. We were handed our numbers and pulled slips of paper to find out the names of our rides. We left the sign-up office and Corbin looked at the slip of paper in his hand. He started laughing and I looked at him like he was nuts. “My bronc's name is Spicy Lance,” Corbin told me. I started laughing along with him. Who the hell named that horse? “It sounds like something someone would name their dick,” he said as he kept laughing. I laughed even harder before I asked, “How do you think it’s going to sound on the loudspeaker? Corbin Martinez riding on Spicy Lance.” “Oh fuck! I’m gonna sound gay!”
Wolfe Ranch Part 3, Chapter 3- New Mexico
Jasper We were on our way to Santa Fe, New Mexico and I was looking at all the messages on my phone from family and friends back home. A lot has happened back home in the past couple of weeks. Both Ivy and Jacob found their mates and claimed them. There were cattle thieves on the loose, but they were taken care of. My dad killed the neighboring pack’s Alpha and so his son was finally able to take over. Talk about an interesting month for my family. I’m kind of sad that I missed all the fun. I felt bad that I was being so reclusive, but I just didn’t need a lecture from my parents right now about what I was choosing to do with my life. This was my life and I needed to explore what was out there. I needed to find the things that made me happy and fill my soul with meaning and purpose. Wolfe Ranch Part 3, Chapter 4- Happy Birthday
Briar I was in the dining room of the packhouse eating my breakfast on my own as I scrolled through the news on my phone. I could have made myself breakfast at home but I didn’t feel like it this morning. Besides, now I was right next to my office so I could get to work early. There was nothing in the news that held much importance to me; the ranch or the pack. Nothing big has happened recently since we handled the cattle thieves. Our area was calming down and going quiet once more. That’s the way I liked it; nice and quiet. I finished my meal of eggs, bacon, and a large muffin before I got up from my seat to head to my workspace. I walked through the doorway to the office while looking down at my phone. Suddenly, there was a loud pop in my right ear and confetti swarmed me. I jumped in shock and dropped my phone on the ground before looking up at who was fucking with me. “Happy Birthday!” Lacy, my older cousin, and Gamma yelled happily at me. I sighed in frustra

Lacy I left the packhouse after annoying Briar as much as I possibly could with the confetti cannon. Those things were the best possible prank tool. I’m so glad that I bought a pack of twenty. I had only used a few of them, so I had plenty to keep getting people with. Being a bubbly pain in the ass was my favorite thing when it came to all of my cousins and my younger brother. Everyone needed to lighten up a little bit and live. My mom found it hilarious, while my dad found it worrisome. He was a pretty serious guy most of the time. I already had the spreadsheets that the South Sand Pack needed in my Jeep, so I just jumped in and started it up. I left the pack territory and started my drive to Bowman, North Dakota. I would stop there and get a second cup of coffee along with something to eat. I drove fifty minutes and stopped on the main highway in Bowman at a small coffee shop. Briar After my impromptu day off, I spent the next day looking over what Lacy brought me from the South Sand Pack. I also spent the morning listening to her gush about her mate. She was absolutely smitten with the woman she was fated to be with. I was happy for her, but I was also getting a little jealous of all the love going around and skipping over me. I was ready to have someone at my side even if I was only nineteen. This morning I was in my office as usual as I looked at the sales numbers on my computer. I needed to drive sales a little more with the company and the best way to do that was with a good marketing team. Marketing was the only way to get anything out there to the masses, plus the right platform outlet would help tremendously. Social media seemed to be the only way to get people's attention anymore. Briar I made sure to call each pack in the area and tell them about the issue at hand. They were all taking the appropriate measures to make sure their livestock and pack members were protected as well. None of us were willing to go through the same thing twice. When we started to dive into research about Alpha Kevin, we learned that knowledge was limited because I had no idea what his last name was. We needed Uncle Easton and Lacy’s help to get into the database to pull up information on packs and their Alphas. Every five years, the pack information and Alpha information had to be updated from all over the world, so he had to be in there. When Uncle Easton and Lacy dove into the database, we finally got somewhere. All we learned was that Kevin Williams was an Alpha with no heir and he ran a small pack that had been dwindling over the years. That worried me on all accounts. What was going on there? Was he just a bad Alpha? Or were there other issues we needed to uncover?

Jasper I just got off the phone with Briar. He found his mate and that meant that mine was right around the corner. I had dreamed of this moment for the past year and that was the whole reason I was out here. No one knew that other than Thief. I wanted to keep it that way for a while. I had my reasons. I got back in my truck at the gas station that I pulled into so I could talk to Briar in private. Corbin was in the passenger seat texting on his phone, so he wasn’t paying too much attention to me. I knew that any conversation with my family right now needed to be private because of werewolf business. This would be our last rodeo together, and it was a little bittersweet. I liked the guy a lot. Jasper After getting our money from the manager's office, we went back to the truck and loaded the horses. We got in the vehicle and I drove to a fast food place to get something to eat. All three of us sat in my truck in an empty grocery store parking lot to eat our burgers and fries while talking. “Why did your dad grab you like that?” I asked Lianna. “Because I didn't perform the way he wanted me to in order to get first place.” That's horrible. My dad never treated any of us like that. He was the most patient man I had ever been around.
