MasukMy fiance called me to post bail after he was arrested. When I arrived, however, I was informed that he was caught in a compromising position. "I came to protect Lily because I was worried for her safety," my fiance retorted, putting an arm around her shoulder. "But her boyfriend didn't believe me. Or is it the same for you too? Go post bail already." Nonetheless, I spied the lacy underwear poking out ever so slightly over his belt. In the past, I would have made a scene as I demanded an explanation. But now, I was as cool as a cucumber. When the cops asked what our relationship was, I paused in thought for a moment, before saying quietly, "His employer." Once I signed the papers, I texted my brother: [I'll go on that blind date. Schedule it for three days later.]

"You have to get married to Alpha Victor of the Bloodfang Pack. A peace treaty has been signed already and you have to go there for us to prevent the war that will come if you don't, " Alpha Caleb ordered, my eyes widening in surprise on hearing him talk.
"A marriage? " I asked him. When he called me to come to his office, I thought it was because he had work for me to do, but marriage wasn't what I was expecting at all. "I'm sorry Alpha, I can't accept your order, "I dared to say, knowing full well the implications that my refusal would bring, not to the pack, but to me as an Omega who rejected Alpha's order.
"And why can't you do that? " He asked, disgust laced in his voice. I was pretty sure that he was having a hard time having me in the same room as he was, let alone speaking with me.
"I am just seventeen, Alpha, I'm not yet fit to get married. Besides, you want me to get married to Alpha Victor, it's like sending me to my death, " I explained, praying silently that my reasons were enough to convince him.
It was no news to anyone that Alpha Victor was a monster, the young cold-hearted Lycan Alpha of the Bloodfang Pack who had brought up his pack to the highest it could reach, ranking it the biggest and most feared pack among all werewolf's pack. As for me, I couldn't get married to someone like that, it wasn't the type of marriage I had planned out for myself.
" Then, die, " Alpha Caleb said suddenly and I raised my head to look at him, my brows creased in confusion. Is he telling me to die? " If you have to die to keep the pack safe, then die. We're in the middle of a war and I am preoccupied with so much. You don't expect me to care if you're not comfortable with your marriage when you're trying to save us all, do you? " He snapped at me and as much as I tried not to, my eyes became teary.
What was I expecting? That he would give a fuck about me? It was so obvious, he needed a scapegoat and I was the only one available for use. All the other Omegas were either too old or ugly. I appreciated my beauty as I thought it was the only thing I had, but now it was more of a curse than a blessing to me.
" Alpha….., " I tried to say, but he was quick to shut me up, banging the table as his eye colour changed.
" You will do as I've ordered, " his voice boomed in the room, making me bow my head, baring my neck in submission. I guess I'm getting married. " You're to get married to Alpha Victor on the next full moon. A wedding won't be necessary. Just take your things and move in with him, " he said, this time more calmly as he managed to control his wolf. He dismissed me with a wave and I knew I no longer had a say in it.
Walking out of his office, I went outside the packhouse, into the woods I observed my surroundings. I took a seat on a log of wood, heaving out a sigh as I thought of so many things.
I never knew my parents, I heard that they died when I was five and I have no memories of them, but still blame them for my misfortune. I heard they were very comfortable, as my dad worked as a pack warrior and my mum was a nurse. When they died, Alpha Caleb took the house they built, coveting it to himself.
Ever since then, I became an Omega, having nothing to my name. I had to tend to the higher-ups who didn't give a shit about me and treated me like a slave. Now, they're selling me to the Bloodfang Pack just to save their asses, I felt used. All my efforts were for nothing and at last, I was to be thrown away.
The most annoying fact was that the next full moon was tomorrow, or should I say in less than twelve hours?
" What are you doing, sitting here alone? " Julia, my best friend and the only person who I felt cared about me came, looking at the sky as she sat beside me. I turned to look at her, smiling softly as an idea popped into my head.
" Julia, should we run away? " I asked all of a sudden without thinking, causing her to look at me, furrowing her brows.
" Huh? ".
" I mean, let's run away. Let's leave everything behind, leave the pack without anyone knowing and run away from everything, " I elaborated and she snorted, shaking her head and she looked back at the sky.
" And go where? Do you have a destination in mind? Or do you plan on becoming a rogue? That would bring us to our death more quickly than we think, " she stated, and as much as I would love to argue further, she was right. We were Omegas, we had no money, no connections, and the only thing we could do was to become rogues. But, I still believed that the unreasonable marriage would lead to my death more quickly than anything.
" But, why did you suddenly think of that? " She asked, turning to look at me again and I shrugged, unsure if I should tell her or not.
" I'm getting married tomorrow or should I say I'm going to be sold to the Bloodfang Pack in exchange for a peace treaty? " I answered. She was going to find out anyway there was no point in hiding it from her. She shot up from her seat suddenly, as if her buttocks were on fire.
" What? " She yelled, her eyes widened as she began pacing to and fro, making me dizzy as I had to watch her. I was the one in this situation, but she was taking it more seriously. " Was this Alpha Caleb's order? " I nodded and she sighed. I could understand her, no one could go against his orders, especially the Omegas.
" What's your plan? " She asked again, sitting down a few minutes later and I bit my lower lips, tilting my head. To be honest, I hadn't even thought of that. I just wanted to get away from everything. I shook my head in response, causing her to scowl at me.
" Hey, what are you two doing there? " We heard Beta Justin yell and we looked at each other before running away, as fast as we could to avoid being caught.

" Please, forgive me, " I pleaded on my knees, tears rolling down from my eyes as I rubbed my palms together. I had woken up a little too late today, missing preparing breakfast for the higher-ups.
That had gotten Luna Barbara very furious to the extent that she sent me to the dungeon as my punishment, even though I was getting married today.
A silver chain was used to bind my hands together, burning my flesh. I couldn't move as my legs had been chained to the floor with a silver chain too. I didn't have a wolf yet, so I had no power to ease the pain. The more I stayed there, the more my energy got drained and the weaker I became.
The cell gate opened and Alpha Caleb came inside the tiny, dirty cell that reeked of urine and blood, holding a whip as he smirked evilly at me. Tears rolled down my eyes as I imagined what he was going to do with me, not knowing if I could take it. My energy was getting weak each passing day without my wolf and I didn't know how much longer I could last.
The first whip came and a yelp left my lips as my back stung. Without any care, another came and another and another until I couldn't take it anymore.
Not caring about the burning sensation I felt in my legs and wrist from the effect of the silver, I got on my knees, rubbing my palms together as I pleaded for freedom.
That made him more furious as he stretched out his hands and fire shot out from it, coming in my direction. I screamed out in pain and agony as the fire came in contact with my sides, burning a portion of it.
Tears continued to fall from my eyes, blood was dripping from my back, my sides were stinging from the fire and my legs and hands were burning. There was only one thing left for me to do and I did that without any hesitation.
"Take her to her room and tell Julia to clean her up. The Bloodfang's people will be here in two hours, at least, I have made her very prepared as Alpha Caleb instructed "this was the last thing I heard before giving in to darkness.
Nonetheless, Paul appeared out of nowhere in the second Lily's dagger was about to reach me.Lily tried to withdraw, but it was too late—her dagger cut his arm, drawing blood. He did not seem to realize that, however, and was watching me worriedly, "Are you hurt?"I didn't answer, merely glancing at Lily behind him. "Your parents' death was their own doing."Lily's pale cheek appeared even paler then, and she tried to push her way to me to strangle me, but Paul pushed her to the floor. "You knew that Paul was an illegitimate child all along, no?"I continued anyway. "You only took care of him so that you could get a handsome reward from his father. That's why I'm sure you're the one who sent his father that DNA report too—wasn't this what you've been waiting for? Isn't that the real reason you clung to him for so long?"Lily could only shake her head, glaring at me viciously so that I might shut up.On the other hand, Paul's jaw dropped when he heard me. "Is that… the truth?"
Things went well for myself and Tim—we were soon discussing marriage, a fulfilling end to a blind date that had been postponed for five years. While I used to dream of wearing a gown I designed myself to walk down the aisle, I had to give up before as Paul called it plain and forbade me from using it at all. Now, I was marrying someone else instead, so I resumed the design that was left half done. When I went out to buy the many adornments that were needed, Tim was insistent on coming with me as he said, "Getting married is a matter for two. How could I leave everything to you?"It was certainly a stark contrast to Paul's apathetic attitude before, and Tim's words left me feeling warm and fuzzy inside.Still, I was conservative and dislike trying new things, so I stuck with the outlets that I frequented. The retailer was especially enthusiastic today as well, insisting on promoting new products even when I tried to leave.I didn't think much of it, and bought more stuff as I tho
Paul's mom used to be my maid, and the first maid I hired since I ran away from home. She was very good to me, taking care of me tirelessly, nagging like a mother that I should take good care of my diet. There was a warm homeliness in the bleak house then, and that was when I met Paul.He never attended university and was a delinquent.I would rather have nothing to do with his type, until his mother caught a terminal illness.I paid her medical fees and took care of her when she was bedridden day and night, until the day of her death. And on that day, she was holding my hand and begging, "Ms. Adams…. Can you please take care of Paul for me from now on? I'm begging you, in exchange for my service…"She was ready to prostrate herself before me, and I quickly stopped her, agreeing to it as she looked upon me expectantly. And I kept that promise for five years.Though I fulfilled that last wish, I ended up sacrificing myself…-"Jessica… Jessica?" Back at the present, Neil in
Neil had a pained look as he watched me from the rearview mirror.Still, the blind date was held in a rush, and I didn't bring much luggage with me.However, Neil had me sent to a makeup artist and other salons to make a good impression. When it was done, I stared at my pretty reflection in the mirror, spacing out.I had no idea when I became so obsessed with Paul in heart and mind, that I became a fishwife who hollered just like him, and became a servant at his beck and call.My youth would have been a golden period in my life, but I had lived just like a hag.Neil's tears welled up in his eyes, but he forced a smile and teased me, "Ah, my sister's so beautiful. Mr. Jones would fall head over heels for you!"Then, clapping me on the shoulder, he assured me, "I've checked. He's a good kid."I nodded, my eyes could well be dead—it didn't matter now.And no matter how bad Tim might be, he wouldn't be all that bad.-Tim was different from how I had remembered him when he arriv
Lily Thompson's boyfriend was still hollering as we left the precinct, while my boyfriend Paul Gibson had an arm around Lily's shoulder, as if asserting dominance. In a matter of minutes—with Lily siding with Paul too, her boyfriend bellowed, "I'm done! I'm breaking up with you!"As he stormed off
Paul froze in shock, and it took a while for him to stammer, "It's all just a misunderstanding. It's just photos from Lily's birthday.""You know that she doesn't have a family—I was just taking photos with her as her brother."As he spoke, he was afraid to look me in the eye.It left me snickeri
I waited by the road for thirty minutes, before finally hailing a cab to leave.Perhaps feeling guilty, Paul actually came home that night, but entered to find me packing a suitcase."Running away again?!" He promptly bellowed.I never stopped, replying nonchalantly, "Just packing some clothes."
In reality, we hadn't celebrated our anniversaries for four years, but I suddenly felt like it this year.I decorated the house as I used to envision, the balloons taking me an entire afternoon to inflace.I kept the time with precision down to the second, and everything was perfect.Once we were
