Chapter 4: Alexander

I swallow slowly rising to my feet and crossing my hands over myself feeling exposed and vulnerable.

"Of course sir, Please wait out front, my boss doesn't like people in the kitchen except for staff..." I sniff and give him a polite smile and he frowns at me in confusion.

"You telling me to leave the kitchen?" He asks carefully almost amused

"Yes, Unless you want to meet John's wrath. Once Patty trudged in mud after training and John made him clean the floor with a toothbrush." I chuckle in amusement and I see the man tilt his head with a ghost of a smile playing on his lips.

"I don't have mud..." he counters with a smirk making my smile broaden

"True but Goddess knows where you been," I say back with an amused expression looking at his rumpled suit pants to his tight and lightly soiled suit jacket that looked darker on one side than the other meaning one side was wet and did absolutely nothing to soften his look.

He followed my eyes as I looked him over and stood up straighter filling up the doorway even more than before, looking back at me with a neutral expression. "Make it Fast. I have business elsewhere to take care of," he said in a clipped uninterested tone making me frown as he backed away.

I walk to the sink washing my hands and face. I quickly dabbed it dry and walked to the storage room to get some coffee beans, and sugar that we packed away every night. I picked up some full cream milk from the fridge and headed to the front.

I walked to the front noticing the stranger's tense posture as he looked at the front entrance with his back to me. I eyed him and then the clock that read half two in the morning. My eyes widened and inwardly groaned knowing I was going to be in so much trouble if I stayed until three am.

I quickly placed the ingredients on the counter with a loud clatter and switched on the coffee maker and turned back to the stranger who was already looking at me with a curious glance, I choose to ignore him and opened the coffee tin and inhale deeply knowing it will clear my scent and I will be able to decode the creature in front of me.

"What would you like?" I ask him politely and he arches his brow as he shifted uncomfortably in the space.

"Coffee," he says simply

"What type of coffee?" I ask and he gave me a blank look and I could smell his irritation at having to answer me.

"I'll surprise you, I guess..." I mumble taking a deep breath and about to sigh when I get his multiple scents.

I close my eyes isolating the scents and sighed in pleasure getting the first scent of roasted hazelnut coffee, which was a natural scent, which meant he was half-werewolf, the next scent was midnight orchid but had a touch of ice smell, which meant he was half-vampire. I was about to open my eyes when I got a whiff of a third scent an underlining scent of burning coal or wood, the scent of a demon that he was trying to suppress but it clung to the other scents like one form.

I opened my eyes and looked at him in fascination, this stranger was no ordinary being, he was the stuff of legends he was a Tribrid and from the scowl, he gave me he wasn't happy with me at present.

I quickly got to work on his coffee and rushed back into the kitchen to get some hazelnut and cinnamon powder in a tall mug and rushed back to the front and made him a coffee according to his very alluring werewolf scent.

I was very aware that being three beings meant he could pick up my scent change, especially attraction, so kept Noah in my mind and that dimmed my mood and effectively my scent which meant he would pick up nothing, a trick Alpha Ian taught me.

I turned back to the uncomfortable stranger while I waited for the coffee machine to do its thing while I took in the stranger who stood tall with his hands stuffed in his pockets looking at the ceiling absent-mindedly.

"Why are you trying to hide your demon?" I ask bluntly and I see him physically stiffen as he slowly dragged his dark brown eyes back to mine. I watch as they narrowed dangerously but I wasn't scared. I was more fascinated than scared and realised he was even more handsome in the light.

I fully took him in from his rectangular face, defined jaw, thick brown hair, dark brown eyes, strong straight nose, tanned skin to his medium pink lips and lets not get started on his long neck and imposing adams apple that bobbed as he swallowed, by Goddess he was magnificent.

I move my curious eyes back to his dangerous ones and continue my curious inquisition, "Why suppress him and push your werewolf and vampire scent more out, wouldn't you rather push your demon out than your other two beings? Unless you trying to hide it because your Alpha will think you trying to challenge him. That makes sense, but Collen said his Alpha is protective of his people." I ramble in thought tilting my head at the stranger who blinked at me in bewilderment.

"What?" I ask as the coffee begins to pour behind me and he looks at me with a confused scowl but from he scent he was nervous. Why on earth was he nervous? Unless he thought I was going to tell someone.

He steps forward and braced his huge muscular arms on the counter infront of him. He looked ominous staring at me as he blocked the overhead light. I could hear the jacket seams stretch and snapped under his massive bulging muscular form, but I wasn't intimidated. I fascinated and confused on how he kept him hidden and kept something so powerful at bay.

"How the fu-" he starts but I cut him off waving my hand dismissively realising that his nervousness probably stemmed from a deep insecurity of not being accepted and being shunned and I couldn't help sympathic feeling towards him, towards Beasty.

"No need to cuss Beasty. I can smell your nervousness, There's no need to be nervous, I get what's it like to be different and have people not understand. I can smell the strong barbarian pack member scent, and I have no intention to reveal your secret. I'll finish your coffee Beasty, and you can be on your way."

"Beasty?" he asks with a slight furrowed brow but a smile playing on his lips and I chuckle turning my back to him so I can finish his coffee

"Well I don't know your name, and considering you a Tribrid, Beasty seems appropriate. Still to go?" I answer and ask looking over my shoulder at him as he eyes me carefully still unsure about my intentions. I send him a small reassuring smile and eye the diner stool in front of him, he follows my eyes and looks back up almost surprised understanding the question.

"To Go, Beasty?" I ask again with a smile an arched brow and he smirks shaking his head  lowering on the stool clearing is throat "No.. the Mug is fine." he says in that deep husky voice as I put the finishes touches on the coffee when he spoke again.

"Alexander... My Name.. My Name is Alexander..."
