Ali knocked on the door for the second time but there was no answer from inside. So she pushed the door wide open and entered the room. 

After keeping the tray on the table she checked around the room and saw Sofiya standing at the edge of the balcony lost in thought.

She walked to Sofiya calling her out, “Miss, I brought you your meal.”

Sofiya didn’t reply, neither did she turn towards her hearing her voice. She again called her out but still, there was no answer. She got close to her and patted her shoulder. Sofiya flinched and hastily wiped her tears.

She then turned towards Ali. “Oh! When did you get here? I didn’t notice you coming.”

Ali was surprised by hearing Sofiya. She was calling her since she entered the room and now she was telling that she didn’t hear her. She seems to be lost in very deep thought.
