로그인Ayla’s POV The moment the words left my lips, something feral unlocked in Kael. His glowing red eyes flashed with pure predatory hunger. The injured alpha was gone and in his place was the wolf who had waited too long for his mate. He flipped us so fast my back hit the mattress with a soft bounce, his massive body caging me in. The air between us crackled, thick and heavy, like it was feeding on our desire. “Careful what you wish for, little wolf,” he growled against my throat, voice so low it vibrated straight to my core. “Because I’m about to ruin you.” His mouth crashed back onto mine, no longer testing, it was claiming now. His tongue stroked deep, demanding, while one large hand shoved my shirt up and over my head in one rough motion. Cool air kissed my heated skin for only a second before his palm covered my breast, squeezing possessively. I arched into him with a whimper, the mate bond pulsing like liquid fire in my veins. But the old anger still burned beneath it all.
Ayla’s POV.I should have been terrified, but a strange, icy feeling had settled in me. “Time is fast in the Eidolon Realm of spirits. What do you seek?”The voice vibrated in my soul. I turned. A woman hovered in the center of the room, bathed in a light so blinding. She was glowing with an ethereal aura.I hope she’s one of the good spirits, like Kiara mentioned. “I—I need to awaken my powers,” I said. My voice sounded different here—clearer, vibrating with a strange frequency. “I need to save my mate.”“To take in Eidolon, you must give,” the figure echoed, “To wake the Sayer, you must surrender the Protector. Give yourself to the realm, little wolf, so she may guide you.”“Protector?” I snapped, the word tasting like steel in my mouth. “What is that? Besides, it doesn’t matter. He doesn’t even want me.”“Watch your tongue in Eidolon,” the spirit warned, her voice thundered. “The spirits do more than listen. You will not die here, little wolf. But to gain her favor, you must ser
I spun around, my hand flying to my chest as Kiara skidded into the room. She was disheveled, her breath coming in jagged, desperate hitches as if she’d run the entire length of the territory.“I found something—” she panted, clutching the doorframe to keep from collapsing.I stepped toward her, a frown deepening on my face. “Kiara, breathe. You’re shaking. What is going on?”“There’s a solution,” she rushed out, her eyes unnaturally bright despite the exhaustion shadowing them. “Something that could pull your powers and awaken the Sayer in you briefly.”I stepped back, the weight of the word Sayer hitting me like a physical blow. I shook my head immediately. “Kiara, no. We’ve talked about this.” “Wait.” Her gaze dropped, snagging on the packed bag gripped in my hand. Her face fell. “Are you leaving? Now?”I hesitated, the leather strap of the bag digging into my palm. I nodded slowly. “I’m sorry,” I said, my voice barely a whisper. “Since I arrived, it’s been nothing but trouble and
Ayla’s POV.It’s been two days, forty-eight hours of trying, failing, trying again. And still… nothing.I was stuck. I slide my palm against the bathroom mirror, wiping the fog that blurred my reflection. The girl staring back at me looked… breakable, tired, and pathetic. Was this really me? I was supposed to be something more. My vision blurred and before I could stop it, a tear slipped free.“I hate this,” I whispered. “I really hate feeling like this.” “Mother…” My voice cracked, barely more than a breathe. “I need you.” I was replied with silence, not even a feeling, talk more of a whisper.Just emptiness filling the void. I filled a porcelain bowl with water, the soft rush of it the only sound in the quiet room. My hands moved in tandem, dipping a cloth into it and wringing it out. Clutching the bowl and cloth, I stepped out into the hallway, my feet carrying me toward Kael’s room before I could second- guess myself. The door creaked softly as I pushed it open. It was dark
Ayla’s POVI barely make it into the bathroom before throwing up my guts into the sink. I grip the edges of the sink, sweat beaded at my temples as I try to stabilize my breathing. When it finally passes, I rest against the porcelain and lift my head, the girl staring at me barely looked herself. Dark circles had begun forming under my eyes, and the last thing I wanted was people sensing something is wrong with me. It’s been a week since I last saw Kael, a week since I said I hated him. He’s probably avoiding me because of that but he needs to do something about the bond. I wake up almost every night restless, I just want some peace in my life but it looks like that’s only something I can dream of.I rinsed my mouth and splashed cold water on my face. Then I grab on a leather jacket and head out of my room. Some fresh air would help me a lot right now.I stepped outside into the night, the sky was bright with stars—stars that reminded me of my father, he would say the brightest sta
Kael’s POV“Why isn’t she healing?” I asked, my voice sharper than I intended.Kiara didn’t look up from where her hands hovered over Ayla’s chest, sweat beaded at her temples.“She’s blocking me,” she said through clenched teeth. “I’m trying here Kael.”“Then try harder!” Her head snapped up, eyes blazing. “Whatever is happening to her isn’t normal. She’s draining my power more than it should”My jaw tightened, a pang of worry I couldn’t admit to twisted my chest.“Your wife will be fine,” Kiara added after a moment, “But hovering like this isn’t helping. Leave so I can concentrate.” “She’s not my wife,” I muttered, already turning towards the door. “Not yet.” The door shut behind me but the tension didn’t ease. Something about this attack didn’t sit right with me. Wolves within this pack don’t move like that without reason. Jealousy alone doesn’t explain their coordination and cruelty. And if they knew what Ayla was— or what she carried. Then this was no random act “Alpha Kael,
Ayla’s POVAll I could think about was him—my mate. Every rational thought, every attempt to control my wolf fell apart when he was near. My mind screamed for restraint, but my body had its own urgent need. I tried so hard to keep it in, but my restraint exploded the moment he got near me.Earlier
Kael’s POV. “Thank you for the words of wisdom, Elder. I’ll see you soon,” I murmured before rising to my feet. No one disobeyed the Elders. Their words had shaped the pack for generations. Even previous Alphas of this pack never defied them. Yet today, an elder’s words felt like chains tightene
