Ethan

When my guards tell me that Logan’s Luna wants to meet me in person, I’m skeptical.

That woman has zero idea what respect is, she’s already proven herself as difficult and the last thing I need after the disaster with Logan is to deal with more trouble.

However, after I send a guard back to tell her I’m unavailable, he returns with an update that she’s refusing to leave until I meet her.

With a loud groan, I drop everything I’m doing and follow the guard to where she’s waiting for me.

  • Wrong Bride, True Luna   CHAPTER 171

AmeliaAs we slip out of the dungeon, I follow Professor Michael closely. It’s well past midnight, but I hold my breath, terrified a stray patrol might cross our path and expose me. Luckily, we reach the hospital without incident. My breaths still come in heavy pants as Michael ushers me into a changing room and helps me out of the guard uniform. “Camn down,” he mutters, “you’re safe.”He stays by my side until my breathing normalizes and my heart doesn’t hammer against my ribcage as wildly anymore. “Go back to the ward and get some rest, I’ll take care of the uniform,” he says with a gentle smile.“Thanks, Professor,” I whisper, more grateful than I can put into words, especially since this was my idea.“Anytime, child,” he says with a chuckle. “Go, you need to rest after the stunt we just pulled.” I flash him a grateful smile and head back towards the ward. Relief washes over me as I get closer, thinking about the successful visit to the dungeon, but the feeling is short lived.

  • Wrong Bride, True Luna   CHAPTER 170

LoganAmelia’s breath catches, her eyes widen in disbelief. “He wouldn’t,” she shakes her head in denial. “Ethan is my friend, I get that you two have a history, but deep down, he’s not a monster,” Amelia insists. “I swear on everything I hold dear, I’m not trying to trick you,” I whisper hurriedly. “Just think about it, please. How else can we explain the sudden outbreak of plague in Deadfang? Why are only the Capital’s warriors sick, not anyone from the pack?”I watch the conflict tear at her. For months, Ethan has been her protector while I was the one who had failed her. Breaking that illusion feels like shattering her world, but if I don’t, it will be the death of her. Slowly, the denial in her eyes flickers and dies, replaced by a spark of realization. She seemed disappointed and hurt, but I can see that she finally believes me. “Ethan can’t know you came to the dungeon tonight. If he finds out you helped me…”I can’t finish the sentence. The image of his hands on her, turnin

  • Wrong Bride, True Luna   CHAPTER 169

Logan“You’ve lost your goddamn mind!” I scream at Ethan, thrashing against the chains that hold me locked down in the cell. My wolf desperately claws at the silver cuffs, desperate to break free and tear Ethan apart, but it’s to no avail. No matter how hard I try, I remain trapped, the silver remains unmoving and breaking free isn’t an option anymore. Ethan watches me struggle, a smug smile on his lips, then throws his head back and laughs at my misery. “Have fun,” he says eventually, voice low, mixed with a tinge of amusement before he turns around and leaves. The guard steps in, raises his hand and the next moment, burning pain spreads across my skin as the whip connects with my body. Almost as fast as the first lash, I feel the presence of the toxin entering my system. I don’t know how long the guard takes lashing me, but a while later, I realize I’m alone again, on my knees, breathing heavily as sweat breaks out on my forehead. “Logan,” my wolf’s weak voice echoes in my m

  • Wrong Bride, True Luna   CHAPTER 168

EthanMy office feels a little colder than usual as Joey slips inside, stone-faced, and stops before me, nodding in a greeting. I wave my hand dismissively, urging him to report the situation rather than waste more of my time. “All the packs have been infected, Alpha,” Joey announces. “Those suffering are starting to panic, the leaders are pleading the Alpha king for his aid.” A smirk pulls at my lips as I imagine the proud Alphas, running to Derrick with their tails tucked between their legs, begging and pleading. The image in my mind is too pleasant to focus on anything, until I start wondering what Michael is planning when he contacted me earlier. I don’t hear a word Joey says until he calls my name repeatedly. When I look at him, Joey clears his throat. “Should we intervene, Alpha?” I consider his question, then shake my head. “No, act according to the plan and keep spreading the toxin.” Joey listens and arches an eyebrow, clearly having noticed how distracted I am. “Alpha?

  • Wrong Bride, True Luna   CHAPTER 167

AmeliaHope blooms in my chest as Michael’s words echo against the walls of his office. Simultaneously, Sophia and I turn to look at him.“Professor Michael, whatever you’re thinking, it could be too dangerous,” she whispers. “What’s the plan?” I ask. Sophia glances at me, but once she sees the determined look on my face, she sighs and nods. “Yes, what’s the plan?” Michael walks around his desk and closer to us, then stops and lowers his voice. “First, I’ll contact Alpha Ethan.” I nod so he knows I’m listening and hold my breath, ready to know more details. “I’ll tell him the antidote is close to the end stages of the development, so it requires some tests on the infected warriors in the dungeon.”“To make sure it works,” I whisper. Michael nods. “Exactly. Alpha Ethan will agree since he wants it urgently.” “And how will that get Amelia into the dungeon?” Sophia asks, clearly sceptical. “She will disguise herself as a guard and enter the dungeon with me. I’ll claim I need hel

  • Wrong Bride, True Luna   CHAPTER 166

AmeliaSophia’s words still echo in my mind, but I can’t bring myself to believe that Derrick would really do this to Logan. “It just doesn’t make any sense.” I whisper under my breath while Sophia watches me intently.“Alpha Logan is the king’s cousin,” I add quietly, processing the details. Derrick, better than anyone, knows how intense the hatred between Ethan and Logan is. And now, with that in mind, he sent Logan to Deadfang so Ethan can punish him? “I just don’t understand how everything changed so fast,” I breathe out.Sophia places a hand on my shoulder and keeps her voice calm, even though I can hear the urgency. “Don’t overthink this, Amelia. You need to stay calm.”I look at her, about to ask how anyone could be calm in such a situation, but Sophia shakes her head. “You’re too close to giving birth to be under so much stress.” “I understand, but-” “No,” she cuts me off. “Listen carefully,” Sophia leans closer and lowers her voice. “Even if Alpha Ethan ordered to impri
