Amelia

After leaving the house, I didn’t bother to look back. This pack has nothing to offer me and giving them one last glance would be giving the respect no one around here deserves.

By the time I reach the border area, I’m clutching the straps of the bag Katherine threw at me so hard, my knuckles turn white.

For some reason, the pack border patrol started locking down the borders. In any other situation, I’d probably freak out because then, I’d be locked in the same as others.

However, since I have a backup plan, I just hang out close by the border and wait for Professor Michael. When he pulls up with his car, I get inside and hide under a blanket between the back of the driver’s seat and the passenger seat.

Luckily for me, Professor Michael used to be a close friend of my father, so all the pack members know him pretty well and the guards don’t bother to inspect his vehicle carefully enough to find me.

For once, their arrogance pays to my advantage - they’re too confident that

KatherineBefore I can fully register the news, Doctor Morris clears her throat. “Luna Katherine, I’m very glad you came here today. The last checkup, according to my data, was when you were three months pregnant.” “Three?” I manage to choke out and somehow sound unbothered, even though the thoughts that run through my head couldn’t be called anything short of wild. “Yes, three,” the Doctor hums and reaches into the drawer for a file, then flips it open. “Okay,” I mutter while my thoughts keep racing. “Luna,” the Doctor’s voice pulls me out of my thoughts. “I was thinking of reaching out to you since you didn’t come to the hospital. I planned to notify you about the necessity of a prenatal visit once you reach four full months, but since you’re already here, how about we do it today?” Even the blood in my veins freezes at the words. First of all, there’s no way I have any type of checkup with this doctor, I’m not pregnant. Second, the more she speaks, the deeper the realization

  • Wrong Bride, True Luna   CHAPTER 45

KatherineLogan cuts off the mind-link again and this time, I’ve had enough. I grab the first object at my gasp—a crystal vase and throw it against the wall, shattering it to pieces. “Luna Katherine!” One of the maids gasps near me. Anger surges through me, my chest is heaving heavily with the breaths, but the small pieces scattering across the floor do nothing to calm my rage. I feel hands on me as the maid tries to stop me, frantically urging me to stop. “Get your hands off me!” I snarl at her and start throwing more things—everything at my reach, all of them shattering against the wall. By the time I’m done, the anger is still there, but I’m too tired to lift another thing. “Luna Katherine, what’s wrong?” The maid speaks softly, but I only glare at her. There’s no chance in hell I’ll ever tell her what’s going on. No servant in this pack will ever find out how rocky the relationship between Logan and I is. So, I glare at her again and snarl, “get out of here! You can clean u

  • Wrong Bride, True Luna   CHAPTER 44

LoganTo say that I’m surprised by Ethan’s sudden announcement is an understatement. Instead of arguing or blowing up, I force a smile, pull my hand out of his hold and leave the meeting room without another word. Holding the signed agreement like it’s the only thing that’s keeping me above the water, I return to the temporary house I’ve been staying in. The moment I close the door behind me, my wolf growls in my mind, “Logan, you’re not leaving without our mate, are you?”“Of course I’m not,” I scoff and roll my eyes although he can’t really see it. “I have no intention of leaving anytime soon, let alone tomorrow morning.” “Good,” he growls. “It’s not a good time to leave, especially since she’s been more accepting and talkative today.” I agree with a low hum and walk to the living room to find Marcel sitting on the couch, waiting for me. He turns to look at me and stands up. “Alpha, how did the meeting go?” “Fine,” I say and toss the agreement onto the coffee table. “We reach

  • Wrong Bride, True Luna   CHAPTER 43

AmeliaDuring the day, I reach out to Logan and agree to meet up later to talk. As soon as I finish up and close the door behind the last patient, I get dressed and leave, heading to the park near the hospital to meet up with him. “Hey,” he greets me as I step closer, smiling wider than I’ve seen him smile and scratches the back of his neck. If I wouldn’t know better, I’d assume Logan is nervous. “I’m glad you decided to reach out. Honestly, I was thinking about doing that anyway, but I’m still glad you did.” “Well, I’m glad you agreed to meet up,” I tell him and decide to rip off the bandaid. “I wanted to talk about the peace negotiations you’ve been stalling.” The smile fades from his face and a deep scowl replaces it. Logan doesn’t look pleased, almost as if he thought I reached out to talk about something completely different. “So that’s what you wanted to talk about?” He scoffs, crosses his arms in front of his chest and looks away. I want to roll my eyes at his attitude, b

AmeliaThe next day, I wake up in a relatively good mood. There’s still some lingering thoughts about the day before and Logan, but I push them aside and focus on heading to work. As soon as I arrive at the hospital and step into my office, the door opens after me and Ethan walks inside, followed by Sophia. “Amelia,” he breathes out my name like he’s relieved to see me. “I heard what happened to your ankle. How are you feeling? Are you sure you should be working today?” He asks, voice laced with worry. The genuine concern makes me feel warmer than ever before. Ethan’s being so caring and careful around me that it’s hard not to smile and feel a little silly. Sophia quickly stands in front of me and starts checking on me frantically. “Oh, Goddess, Amelia I’m so sorry for leaving early yesterday. I had no clue, I feel so guilty for not being near you when you needed me,” she rambles off frantically. I gently take her hands to stop her from panicking. “I’m okay,” I tell her softly, t

  • Wrong Bride, True Luna   CHAPTER 41

EthanA loud, animalistic roar tears out of my throat as I grab the vase off my desk and throw it against the wall. My chest heaves as I watch the glass scatter across the floor. “Ethan, calm down,” Joey mutters to my right, raising his hands as he tries to placate me. “Calm down?” I snarl and turn my head to look at him. “You want me to calm down after the news you just brought? The massive rogue force we sent to attack Derrick failed?” My eyes follow his every movement as Joey runs a hand through his hair and releases a frustrated breath, “listen, we underestimated Derrick and Logan.”“Damn it,” I hiss and aggressively wipe my desk clean, gripping the edges until my knuckles turn white. “He really did think two steps ahead, didn’t he? Sending troops to protect Derrick before he arrived at our pack,” I snarl bitterly. “Not to anger you even more, but there’s a reason why Logan is one of the most powerful Alphas out there,” Joey mutters, literally doing that one thing he claims he
