Chapter 4

Author: Fork Your Eyes
My eyes lit up, feeling hopeful as I struggled to lift my hand toward her.

"G-Give it to me."

Just as my fingertips were about to touch the pen, Olivia flicked her wrist and nimbly pulled it away from my reach. She curled her lips into a cruel smirk and shot a knowing look at the bleach-blonde guy standing nearby, Ethan Biles.

Ethan immediately caught on and took the pen from her hand, eyeing me with a sleazy, predatory gaze.

"I don't buy that she's some innocent little girl," he said.

Then, like he was teasing a dog, he dangled the pen in front of me and waved it around.

"You want it? Crawl over here and beg me for it."

My mind was already starting to fog over, and my legs were too weak to stand. Out of pure instinct, I crawled forward.

"Oh my gosh! She's actually crawling!"

"Quick, quick, get this on video! This is wild!"

As the sounds of their excited jeering and phone cameras clicking filled my ears, humiliation washed over me completely. I could even sense Dallas' expression darkening further.

He probably thought I was making him look like a complete fool right now. Yet, I could not care less. My body was at its absolute limit, and if I did not get insulin soon, I would go into shock or even die.

I crawled to Ethan's feet and looked up at him, begging pathetically. "Please! Give it to me. I'm begging you!"

Ethan's smile grew even more disgusting as he continued waving the pen around, refusing to hand it over. Instead, Olivia gasped dramatically and covered her mouth in mock shock.

"Oh my, Sabrina! You look like you've done this before."

She turned to Dallas, whose face went completely dark, and asked with feigned innocence, "Dallas, you don't think she's the type to sneak around behind your back playing kinky dominance games with other guys, do you?"

That single comment ignited all the rage Dallas was bottling up. "You slt!"

With a furious roar, he kicked me viciously in the side. The brutal force sent my entire body flying through the air before I slammed hard into a nearby tree trunk. The excruciating pain made my vision go black, and I nearly passed out completely.

Dallas's face twisted with rage as he approached me step by step. He stopped right in front of my face, and he growled, "Tell me! Who the hell is he?!"

I was barely conscious from the pain, and even breathing became difficult. All I could do was weakly shake my head.

However, he interpreted this as defiance.

"Still won't talk?!" he roared, then kicked me square in the chest.

I heard the distinct sound of my own rib snapping, and a metallic taste surged up from my throat as blood mixed with saliva spilled from the corner of my mouth. The combination of searing pain and lack of oxygen sent my body into violent spasms, and I felt myself slipping away.

Just as I was about to lose consciousness completely, a furious shout rang out from behind the crowd.

"Stop! Lay one more hand on my daughter, and you'll never walk out of these woods again!"

On the day I was discharged, I cut off the long hair I had kept for years and changed into a sharp, professional outfit. The woman in the mirror had clear, steady eyes.I started learning how to run the company under Dad's guidance, beginning at the very bottom with small project work.Dad clearly intended to train me, because he gave me full authority yet pushed me through the toughest challenges. I absorbed everything like a sponge and never felt tired, because I knew the only way to protect myself and the people I loved was to become stronger.A year later, I secured my position in the company after leading a major overseas acquisition. No one dared dismiss me because of my age or gender again. I became the decisive and capable CEO everyone talked about.Occasionally, I still heard updates about Dallas and Olivia from Clint. Rumor had it they were miserable in prison, and their former friendship completely collapsed as they fought constantly and kept ending up in solitary confin

The door opened, and all four of them came scrambling in on their hands and knees. The moment they saw me, they dropped to their knees beside my hospital bed.Dallas' mother, Lucy Ackley, was crying the hardest as she crawled toward me. She tried to grab my hand, but I coldly pulled away."Sabrina, please, I'm begging you. Talk to Mr. Tanner and ask him to spare Dallas! He's your boyfriend! You two were together for three years!"I let out a cold laugh. "Boyfriend? The boyfriend who swapped out my life-saving medication when I was dying from a diabetic emergency and then beat me senseless?"Lucy was struck speechless.Dallas' father, James Clarke, was known to be a ruthless businessman. Yet, he was now openly weeping as he repeatedly begged me."It was our fault. We failed as parents! Ms. Tanner, if you can forgive him, the Clarke family is willing to give up everything we own as compensation!"Dad snorted coldly from the side. "The Clarke family's assets don't even amount to a

Dallas shouted, "Olivia, you bitch! You were the one constantly whispering in my ear, saying Sabrina was spoiled and materialistic, saying she'd dump me eventually! You were jealous of her, so you came up with this sick plan!"His slap was brutal, and blood trickled from the corner of Sarina's mouth. She completely lost it, lunging at Dallas to claw at his face."Me, jealous? Have you forgotten what you told me in bed? You said Sabrina was boring and that you had nothing in common with her! You told me you only felt relaxed and excited when you were with me!"The two of them wrestled on the ground, exposing every filthy detail of their affair right out in the open.Dad and I watched this pathetic display with cold indifference, and neither of us felt the slightest ripple of emotion. Finally, Dad waved at his assistant, Clint Miller."Gag them. They're too loud."The security team roughly slapped duct tape over Dallas' and Olivia's mouths, and the world finally went quiet.Soon,

The group that was laughing suddenly went silent, and everyone turned around in shock. On the mountain trail not far away, a group of people appeared seemingly out of nowhere. Leading them was a middle-aged man in a tailored suit.It was Dad!Behind him followed over a dozen highly trained security personnel, and the pressure in the woods shifted instantly, turning heavy and dangerous.Suddenly, the thunderous roar of helicopter blades echoed across the sky. A medical evacuation helicopter marked with "The Tanner Group" hovered above the clearing.Several paramedics in white coats were rapidly rappelling down, heading straight toward me. The medical team worked methodically to stabilize me, slowly pushing medication into my veins, and the overwhelming suffocation eased enough for me to breathe again.Dad's warm, large hand gently stroked my hair. His voice was trembling uncontrollably as he said, "Nana, don't be afraid. I'm here."I forced my eyes open. The moment I saw his red,

The way Dallas was protecting Olivia made them look like the actual couple.I suddenly remembered what happened three days ago. We were at another group hangout when Dallas and Olivia left the private room for a long time. Feeling uneasy, I went looking for them and finally found them outside the restroom. The hallway lighting was dim, and Olivia had both hands positioned between Dallas's waist and abdomen, their bodies pressed intimately close in a way that made my stomach turn. When I furiously rushed over, she was just finishing zipping up his pants. She looked at me with those eyes that always carried a mocking gleam. She said, "Sabrina, don't get the wrong idea. Dallas's zipper got stuck, so I was just helping him out."Meanwhile, Dallas was completely unbothered. He was even slightly annoyed that I interrupted them."Baby, don't read too much into it. Olivia and I are just friends! Besides, she's basically one of the guys. Olivia's basically one of us. She always says she'
