Ruth looked down. “Anyways, our company lacks manpower. There’s no reason for us to turn him down when he took the initiative to join us.”

Luna was also attending a gathering at Kinsale Clubhouse. It was the birthday of a friend from her circle. She purposely brought Caelus over and introduced him to everyone with an intention to show off.

Because of Ruth, her relationship with Caelus was very low profile in the past.

Since they finally laid bare about their relationship, she could not wait to make it public.

When the two of them arrived at the door of the private room, Luna saw a familiar figure. When she stopped walking, it attracted Caelus’ attention. “What’s wrong?”

Luna frowned and answered with puzzlement in her voice. “I think I saw Ruth.”

Caelus found it amusing. “Is there something wrong with your sight? She’s now busy with cleaning up the mess at Lockton Entertainment. How could she be in the mood to come here?”

Luna could not answer.

She also felt that his words made sense, so she chased those thoughts away.

Cunning flashed in her eyes. She looked at the tall and handsome man and spoke to him in a soft voice. “Caelus, are you really not going to help Ruth? She was just worked up that day. Don’t be mad at her!”

Caelus pinched her cheek and answered in a voice full of doting affection. “You’re such a kind girl! She treated you in that way, yet you’re still defending her?”

“She’s my sister, after all. I can’t leave her alone!”

“Don’t worry, she still has the photos of us. If there’s no way out, she will come and negotiate the terms with me!”

When Luna heard his words, her heart settled.

The photo from that night was like a hanging knife that could fall down anytime.

Her career was on the rise. If Ruth really went insane and released the photo, her future would be ruined.

She purposely went to Purple Cane Apartment to look for Ruth in the morning, but she could not find her. Besides, the password of the apartment had been changed. A bodyguard rushed out and questioned her the moment she keyed it in three times wrongly.

Not only was she unable to meet Ruth, but also got to feel a lot of anger.

She was still thinking about how to indirectly tell her father about it so he would think of a way to solve this problem, but, unexpectedly, Caelus had already done it.

“Caelus, thank you for being so considerate of me.” Luna felt touched and acted cutely.

“You’re my girlfriend. Of course I should be considerate of you!”

The two of them walked into the private room affectionately.

Caelus’ appearance totally satisfied Luna’s vanity. Everyone was envious of her having a good boyfriend, and they asked when they would get engaged.

Luna shyly smiled. “My sister hasn’t held her wedding yet. We have to wait for them to hold the wedding first.”

Someone suddenly said, “Speaking of your sister, what’s her relationship with Apollo Blakewell? The afternoon incident has spread among the circle. Ruth is so dignified!”

Luna’s smile turned stiff. “What happened?”

Another woman spoke in surprise. “Don’t you know it? Lockton Entertainment recruited Apollo! They are having a welcoming party for him in the biggest VIP private room next door!”

Luna was stunned.

She could not hear anything else. Her thoughts were consumed by Apollo and Ruth.

Apollo!

Ruth just came back. How did she become acquainted with him?

Since she had support now, did it not mean that she would never come to beg them for help?

When Luna thought of it, she nervously glanced at Caelus. He was also frowning slightly, but she did not know what he was thinking about.

She moved her lips, but Caelus spoke before she could say anything, “Luna, I suddenly remembered that I have some work to do, so I’ll go back first. Have fun!”

Luna looked at his back, and her gaze became slightly lost.

Was he so preoccupied just now that he did not hear what the others said?

This was fine. She could take this opportunity to meet Ruth and see what she was up to next door.

Because of Apollo’s popularity, Lockton Entertainment had booked the most luxurious private room. It had various entertainment facilities, and the place was very noisy and lively.

The lights in the private room were dazzling. Apollo and Ruth sat at the center, and everyone took turns to come and toast them.

Naturally, they all wanted to toast the famous Apollo.

Ruth, the boss, was only the background behind him.

Ruth sat lazily in her seat with a glass of red wine in her hand, and her gorgeous face looked slightly unreal under the lights. Although she was just a foil, she could not be ignored.

As soon as Luna came in, she took in the situation, and jealousy shone in her eyes.

She took in a deep breath and slowly walked inside. She stopped in front of her elder sister. “Ruth, I saw you when I passed by the entrance, but I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me! I didn’t expect that you’d really be here!”

She did not wait for Ruth to reply, but looked at Apollo and spoke to him in a cheery manner. “Apollo, it’s been a while since we last met!”

Apollo narrowed his eyes slightly and sized up the woman who claimed she was acquainted with him. Did they know each other?

He cast an inquiring gaze at Ruth.

But Ruth did not move at all. She did not want to introduce them.

Therefore, Apollo also chose to ignore Luna. He got a glass of warm water for Ruth. “Please drink less wine.”

Ruth could not drink much as she would become tipsy after a few glasses, but it was inappropriate to not drink the wine that she was holding. She did not expect Apollo to be so sophisticated.

“Thank you.”

It was only after she put down the wine glass and took the glass of water that she looked at Luna. “What is it?”

Luna was totally ignored, so her expression darkened slightly, and her voice also became cold and tough. “I want to talk to you. In private.”

Ruth was slightly dizzy. She leaned against the couch and did not want to move.

“If you have something to say, just say it. No one here is an outsider.”

Although Ruth said that, Apollo was very polite. He consciously moved a seat away.

The music was extremely loud, so he would not be able to hear their conversation.

Luna bent down and lowered her voice slightly. “Is he your newlywed husband? How dare you! Do you believe that once I expose you, Apollo’s fans won’t drown you in criticism?”
