Chapter 3

Yin Xiaoxiao finally realized what was happening and pulled herself out of the man's grip. She looked at him warily and said, "Thanks, Uncle Zhang. You should head back to the party."

Yin Xiaoxiao was about to head into the private room to rest when Uncle Zhang, who had been a frequent visitor at the Yin family home recently, suddenly smiled. As he smiled, she could see the flesh of his chubby face jiggling and the sight of it made her stomach turn.

Manager Zhang looked at Yin Xiaoxiao and had to admit that the eldest daughter of the Yin family was a stunning beauty. Out of the four Yin siblings, Yin Xiaoxiao was the fairest of them all. Her features were softer and more charming than those of her siblings and she would have been considered the kind of beauty who could lead to the downfall of men in ancient times.

"Xiaoxiao, you should stop addressing me as Uncle Zhang. I'm not that much older than you, so why don't you address me as 'Brother'?" Manager Zhang marveled at her beauty as he attempted to pull her back into his arms. He refused to believe that he couldn't subdue her after dragging her into a private room!

"Let's go in and rest. We'll speak later!" he said.

Yin Xiaoxiao avoided his embrace and fear started to build up inside her. She couldn't help but glance at the corridor behind Manager Zhang and pray that someone would appear in time to stop him.

"Uncle Zhang, please behave yourself!"

Yin Xiaoxiao started to panic and tried her best to dodge his embrace, but despite her best efforts, he still managed to grab hold of her. She looked down and bit his arm hard in a moment of panic. Manager Zhang's grip on her immediately loosened and he let down his guard, so Yin Xiaoxiao seized the opportunity and escaped.

She ran as fast as she could because she was afraid that Manager Zhang would catch up with her. She ran straight into someone when she turned to check if he was running after her. His familiar scent immediately caused tears to spring to her eyes and a lump to form in her throat.

His voice and the familiar warmth of his hand made her feel like she was on the verge of a breakdown. "Xiaoxiao, what's wrong? Are you okay?" he asked.

Yin Xiaoxiao looked up at the man who had just refused to admit their relationship. What did he think he was doing? Why was he concerned about her wellbeing? Why was he still acting like they were intimate with each other?

Yin Xiaoxiao didn't respond but looked up stubbornly at him. Xiang Chen knew that Yin Xiaoxiao was extremely upset and wanted an explanation from him. After all, they had been dating for four years, so he would be lying if he said he couldn't read the look in her eyes.

"Xiaoxiao, why didn't you tell me that you're the eldest daughter of the Yin family? Didn't you know that my parents wanted me to marry someone from the Yin family? That was the reason I had no choice but to date Yin Ruoyun. If I had known you were the eldest daughter of the Yin family, I would never have dated Yin Ruoyun!" Xiang Chen's voice rose by a few decibels but he didn't dare to be too loud for fear of being overheard. He looked at her angrily and said, "Xiaoxiao, you're too reckless!"

Yin Xiaoxiao suddenly broke into a smile. The corners of her lips curved upward into perfect angles, revealing her pearly white teeth and the two tiny dimples at her cheeks. When she smiled, it seemed like a fresh flower was blooming in the dead of winter.

Xiang Chen froze in surprise because this smile was familiar and yet unfamiliar to him. He started to panic and it seemed like something had slipped away from him.

After she smiled, she looked at Yin Ruoyun, who had silently approached them, and asked stubbornly, "So now that you know the truth, are you going to call off the engagement to my sister and get engaged to me?"

Smack!

This time, Yin Ruoyun was the one who slapped her sister, and she used even more force than Li Meng had earlier. She slapped Yin Xiaoxiao so hard that Yin Xiaoxiao could even taste the metallic tang of blood in her mouth. In spite of that, Yin Xiaoxiao continued to ask, "What are you going to do? Are you going to break up with my sister to date me instead?"
