Grace grabbed Clara’s hand. “Clara, let’s go.”

They headed for the door, but William reached out and caught Grace’s wrist. His fingers wrapped tightly around her soft skin, and the touch sent a jolt of electricity through both of them. In an instant, they were pulled back to that night on Whitestone Hill, when he had pinned her against the wall…

Grace yanked her hand back.

William’s gaze was icy as he looked at her gentle face. His voice was calm. “Grace, something like this will never happen again.”

“Good. And you’d better figure out a way to explain our relationship to Grandma, so we can get divorced right away. I’m giving the title of Mrs. Donovan back to Camila.”

With that, Grace pulled Clara along and walked out. William’s eyes followed her retreating figure, his perfectly shaped brows tightening ever so slightly.

“Why don’t you just sign the divorce papers already?” Riley suddenly called out. “Then you two can be done with this mess!”

William shot him a glare cold enough to kill

Because Barbara had called, Grace had no choice but to return to Donovan Hall. But the moment she stepped into the living room, her eyes locked on a figure she could never forget. Frank.Years ago, Melanie had sent her to the countryside, to Frank’s house. He had later become her foster father. Now, on that luxurious sofa, Barbara sat laughing sweetly with Frank. “Grace grew up in the countryside. Thanks to you, she was able to get a good education. Now she’s the young Mrs. Donovan, and I adore her.”Frank, broad-shouldered with a blind left eye, chuckled with pride. He used to be a drunk who beat his wife. Now, sinking into a soft leather sofa, his one good eye roamed over every corner of Donovan Hall. The lavish décor and priceless antiques lit a greedy spark in him.In front of Barbara, he played the part of a decent man. “Barbara, you’re giving me too much credit. Grace hasn’t caused any real trouble since joining the Donovan family, has she?”Barbara laughed again. “Of course not

“Grace…” William glanced around the room, but it was empty. She was gone.Did she leave? Didn’t he tell her she couldn’t go anywhere? He pulled out his phone and immediately dialed her number. It rang a few times before she finally picked up.“Where are you?” His tone was sharp.“Cab,” Grace answered curtly.“Where are you going?”“None of your business, Will.” Her voice was deliberately irritating.“You’re going to see Theo, aren’t you? I’m still your husband, Grace. Don’t start cheap gossip and ruin my reputation by going out with another man.”From the other end, Grace let out a low chuckle. “Do yourself a favor—find a mirror and say that to your own reflection. Not many people know who Donovan’s real wife is. And the one they think is his wife sure as hell isn’t Camila. So if there’s any cheap gossip, it’s coming from your affair with her.”William went silent for a moment. When he spoke again, his voice was softer. “Didn’t I tell you to stay in the room?”“That room disgusts me,”

The moment William heard that Camila had arrived, he froze. His sanity, which had slipped just moments ago, came rushing back. He lowered his head, hiding the despair clouding his eyes. What the hell had he just done? He’d grabbed Grace… forced himself to touch her? Grace felt his grip loosen. William let her go. “You stay here. Don’t come out,” he ordered firmly. Without another word, he turned and strode out of the room. He was going to see Camila. The man who, just moments ago, had been driven by pure desire could so easily walk away from her the second Camila’s name was mentioned. The flush in Grace’s cheeks slowly faded, replaced by a bitter smile. Why did she feel like she was the other woman? Like she was the one sneaking around with William, while Camila was the real wife? How ironic. What was William planning to do with Camila? Of course—finish whatever they hadn’t yet finished. Grace crouched down, picked up her phone, and tucked it back into her bag. Moments la

Camila had been looking for William everywhere, but he was nowhere to be found. Patrick was still outside, seeing off the guests with a smile that looked more like a grimace. He walked Aaron and Tessier to their car, saying, “Mr. Aaron, Mr. Tessier, I hope our future cooperation will be smooth.” Aaron glanced at Patrick’s face, amused by the scars marring it. “Mr. Whitmore, you should see a doctor. Your face looks terrible,” he said. “Although… I guess we can’t really call you Whitmore, can we? That’s not your name.” The two directors got in their car and left. Patrick went back into the living room with a dark expression. He strode straight to Melanie. “So this was your plan? To humiliate me?!” The one who couldn’t accept the truth was Melanie herself. She still couldn’t figure out why everything had fallen apart when she had prepared everything so carefully. Melanie grabbed Patrick’s arm. “Baby, I can explain—” He shook her off roughly, grabbed his jacket, and headed for the

“William, did you breathe in that stuff too?” Grace’s voice shook, panic creeping in. He must’ve inhaled the drugged smoke from that incense. William pressed his lips into a hard line, his expression cold as ice. He’d already sensed something was off with his body. They were hiding behind a curtain, Grace’s tiny body pressed against his, her hand clamped over his mouth. But all he could feel was heat crawling over his skin, and his mind was starting to blur. Yeah. Something was definitely in his system. Without a word, William grabbed Grace’s arm and dragged her out of their hiding spot. Outside, chaos had erupted. The two families were at each other’s throats in the middle of the ballroom. Shouts and the sound of shattering glass filled the air, but nobody noticed the two of them slipping away. William hauled Grace out of the villa without giving her a chance to speak. When they reached the car parked by the front steps, he yanked the door open and practically shoved her inside
