I was getting frustrated as the man in front of me kept yapping about his successful business. The meeting took longer than I expected. It was just a private meeting to discuss our partnership, and he was already getting on my nerves just by being talkative.
My phone rang, and I pulled the phone from my pocket, I checked the caller's name that appeared on my screen. I frowned upon seeing the caller's name. Why on earth was he calling me? Without even excusing myself, I immediately picked the call in front of my client, who seemed not bothered by my rudeness with how I cut him off. I guess he was used to it.
"Yes, Daniel?" I said with the phone in my ear. The call continued for 12 minutes before it ended.
I finally looked at the man in front of me. "Mr Arnold, the partnership with us is going well, with our project being a success." I said ready to leave the meeting room.
Mr. Arnold smiled cunningly. "So why don't we go and celebrate it then?"
I knew quite well what he was thinking. I hated celebrations, even though they had meanings. He was definitely getting back at me, I concluded.
I looked at him with a narrowed gaze, and just when I was about to reject, my assistant shifted to my side to whisper something in my ear.
Sighing in defeat, "sure we can do that," I said annoyingly.
My assistant chose the place of the venue and we arrived there. Stepping out from my car, I looked to my side and saw another car parked at the last roll of cars. Mr. Arnold's driver rushed to open the door for him to step out. He gave me a nod and I nodded back before turning my gaze back to the entrance of the nightclub.
The biggest nightclub ever. I walked into the nightclub I owned. It was one of my many properties that I haven't seen or stepped foot in and today was my first time, all thanks to Mr. Arnold.
I went to the VIP room and my assistant took the privilege of deciding on a drink.
Mr. Arnold seemed to be enjoying my uneasiness. I just felt like this was a complete waste of time. I was that kind of person that anyone would call punctual because I love keeping to time and I hated anything that would make me feel bored because I was always busy with business.
And the beat at the background felt like noise in my ears, plus the girls there were less enticing. Actually, I can't remember the last time I found any lady enticing.
I'm still cursing Mr. Arnold in my head, I heard someone calling my name. I turned my head to the left and saw two of my clients walking towards me.
They came closer, and we exchanged pleasantries since we weren't that stable in terms of communication. They sat close to me and discussed business. I was glad that I could finally pay attention to something in order other than the strippers.
"You finally entered your club," Mike smirked at me. He was more of a playboy, getting the other gender's attention with just a smile. His brown hair and brown eyes made him look approachable, but his business partners knew how devilish he was.
He was a drug dealer and I did most of my deals with him. And beside him was Luka, his best friend. They were no different from each other in terms of businesses but Luka was the opposite of him when it comes to his playboy personality.
"Come on, Derek, we didn't come all the way here from Japan just for business, we came to have fun!" Mike groaned and waved for a stripper to come over.
The server brought another drink to the table and I took a glass my assistant poured. I drank it with a sharp look at the stage where ladies danced half naked.
I heard a shriek and turned to look only to get a splash of a drink on my face. This was surprising, I was already annoyed and this increased it. Everybody was quiet, and my assistant was quick to give me a handkerchief.
Someone pulled the server away while I wiped the drink off.
"I'm so sorry, boss," the manager begged me repeatedly, and I was already getting a headache. She beckoned for a stripper and whispered in her ears.
"Sir please. I'll do whatever you want me to do. Katrina, here would be at your service too."
"Get lost," I growled.
"Boss?" She asked to confirm if she heard correctly.
"I said get lost!" I said with a low but dangerous tone, and she immediately rushed outside.
I looked back at my clients, and they looked in shock, especially Mike. I wondered why he looked more shocked than the others.
Nevermind, I'll make sure to make that wretch that dare splash that drink on me. I never imagined getting a drink splashed on my face on the first day in my club, by my worker, and in front of my client. I felt humiliated, and I promised to make that server feel the same.
Later, after calming myself, I decided to stay, not because I was enjoying the company of the girl the manager sent to entertain me but more because my gaze was stuck on a mysterious girl who walked to the pole and earned applause from the VIPs. The room dimmed, and her clothes glowed in the dark.
Mike looked excited, and I couldn't tell why until she started moving to the beat slowly and sensually. Her provocative dress didn't help the tension her dance was creating, and I found myself staring and wondering, just who was she?
This was the first time I got curious about the other gender, however the lady in this case seemed to deserve my curiosity. Later, more dancers came and started dancing seductively, though she outshone them with just a move of her hips.
I turned and whispered to my assistant. "Find out who she is quickly," I said.
Everybody gasped when someone pushed her off the stage in a painful way. The dance ended, and the light became dim enough to make it hard to see what happened next. A new set came in to distract everyone.
Rachael's POVHe zeroed his eyes at me, watching me intensely in silence. He suddenly took a step closer. “Can I know your reason for asking?” He asked, staring at me with his brow creasing into a hard knot.“I'm just curious. So tell me, have you ever felt anything for her?” I rephrased, hoping he would finally give an answer. He heaved a sigh, clenching his jaw as he lowered his gaze, staring at my necklace. Was he not going to give me any reply? Was he angry? It was difficult to read his expression or tell what was on his mind. A few minutes ago, I was able to feel his emotions. It was so visible in his eyes that he wanted me, but why was it difficult to read his expression now?“You want to know the truth, baby girl?” He held my chin, tipping my head up. He leaned in closer and my breath hitched. “Yes,” I whispered breathlessly. His face hardened even more. He was obviously angry, but I could sense that his anger wasn't directed at me. “Yes, but I was only curious at first,” he
Rachael's POV“W-what are you talking about, Adriana?” I stuttered, taking a step away from her dreadfully. There was that unfathomable glint in her eyes. She tilted her head to the side. “What do you think? You know, I was the one who got badly hurt. I was angry when the manager had to terminate my contract and when I asked her why, she felt guilty and revealed that the boss himself had ordered it,” she took a few steps closer.“I wondered who the boss could be. I would do anything for him to take me back? Anything. Even if it might be unspeakable and unforgivable. I would do whatever it takes because I seriously couldn't go back on the street. This job was my life. I was desperate, but she asked me to give up the idea of finding him. However, she left me with a hint,” she eyed me with a sly smile hanging on the corners of her lips. “What hint?” I forced myself to ask. “The man with ice-gray eyes. He was the most handsome that night so of course I noticed him even from afar. But i
Rachael's POVHe started undressing me even before I could respond. “You have no idea how badly I wanted to rip this beautiful dress off your body,” he pulled the dress over my head and tossed it to the corner without care. His eyes roamed over my body and lingered on my bra. I could see the desperation in his eyes to remove every piece of obstacle in his way. He pulled down the straps of the bra and I arched my back to provide him with access to unhook the bra. His eyes showed an extreme hunger for me the moment my chest became exposed for him. My nipples came in contact with the cold air and they hardened. He planted soft kisses on my neck.“Which do you prefer? Mouth, hand, or my cock?” He asked, and my lips parted like a fish out of water. I drew a lungful of air, but the sound of my pounding heart filled my ears. What should I choose? “Y-your mouth--” I almost groaned in frustration when he pulled his hand away. “What are you doing?” “Fulfilling your request, babe,” he replied
Rachael's POVThe scenery looked like something out of a fairy tale book. It was a lush oasis of greenery and colorful flowers, overlooking the city skyline. There was a table in the middle with rose petals on it. The twinkling stars above, the soft glow illuminating the flowers that bloomed like tiny jewels in the darkness. It looked like a sanctuary for lovers, a place where romance bloomed like the flowers that adorned the garden.“Do you like it?” He asked as he led me to the table, and we sat opposite each other. “You must be starving,” he said, taking off the cloche and revealing the delicacy. My mouth water when the sweet aroma hit my nostrils. He dished out the food on an empty plate for me. “Enjoy,” he smiled as he noticed how eager I was. I reached for the cutlery and wasted no time in digging in.“You should slow down,” he looked genuinely worried as he poured water into my glass. “You should pick something simple to cook next time if you know you can't wait for long,” he
Third POV “You want to cover up for the singer? That's great news! I'll inform him right away, I just need to get his attention,” the waiter sounded excited. “How do you intend to get his attention? I'd suggest that you carry on with the previous plans since you have a singer now,” Derek drawled. Rachael swallowed the lump in her throat. All these felt overwhelming, but she had already made up her mind to help the man who was in dire need. “Sure, I'll do that. Thank you for the suggestion. Ma'am, if you don't mind, I'd like to have a word with you and possibly introduce you to the rest of the crew,” he told Rachael, and she stood up, staring at Derek to read his expression. He gave her a slight nod as a sign of reassurance. He could sense that she was nervous and uncertain, but he wanted her to know that she could do it. She sometimes needed to come out of her shell, especially if this was something she wanted to do. Getting the reassurance she required, Rachael followed the wait
Third POV The server immediately took care of broken pieces, while Derek calmly passed her his glass of water instead. He had a look of amusement in his eyes as he watched her empty the glass of water while glaring at him furiously.“Are you okay now?” He sounded genuine, but Rachael knew better than to fall for that trick of his. She could tell that he was definitely laughing at her in his head. She hissed in frustration, this man just loved using her as a form of entertainment. Furthermore, she wanted to curse at him loudly, but had to be mindful of her surroundings. She couldn't grab any more attention because she could still feel their gazes on her. She averted her gaze from his perfect handsome face to the window and her frown deepened. Derek followed her line of sight and noticed she was staring at the window. He could sense that she wanted to sit there, but he had reserved this table fully aware that many people wanted a beautiful view of the city. Unfortunately, he couldn't
