Chapter 355

Author: Hello Spring
“It’s not your place to decide whose fault it is,” Mrs. Smith Sr. said sharply. “If you hadn’t gone to Liz’s law firm this morning to cause a scene, I wouldn’t have asked Mandy to leave Smith Corporation. You brought this on yourself.”

Kimberly’s expression turned dark. She let out a cold laugh. “Don’t think I don’t see what’s going on. Ever since you found out Mandy isn’t your biological granddaughter, you’ve treated her differently. You’ve just been waiting for an excuse to push her out.”

Mrs. Smith Sr. nodded without hesitation. “You’re right. Why would I hand over Smith Corporation to someone who isn’t part of this family? You may be blind to that, but not everyone else is.”

“Fine,” Kimberly snapped. “I’ll remember your words. I’ll prove to everyone that even if Mandy isn’t your blood, she’s still better than Liz in every way.”

She grabbed Mandy’s hand and stormed out.

Mrs. Smith Sr. turned to Michael, her eyes filled with disappointment. “You can go too. Look at the kind of w

This incident with Kimberly had actually given Mrs. Smith Sr. the perfect excuse to remove Mandy from the company.Liz nodded. “Grandma, don’t be angry. They’re not worth it.”“I know. I was only putting on a show just now,” Mrs. Smith Sr. said. “But Kimberly actually dared to hit you. I’m not letting that go easily.”She meant it. She would make sure Kimberly learned her lesson.Seeing how fiercely Mrs. Smith Sr. protected her, Liz felt safer than she had in a long time.“Grandma, I’m really lucky to have you,” she said softly.Mrs. Smith Sr. smiled warmly, her tone gentle but firm. “I can’t be with you forever, Liz. There will always be people like your mother. When someone hurts you, don’t ever be softhearted.”“I understand,” Liz replied.“I’m tired now. You should head home,” Mrs. Smith Sr. said, waving her hand before standing up and walking slowly toward her bedroom with her cane.Liz watched Mrs. Smith Sr. disappear down the hall, then quietly left the estate.*Mean

Mandy’s face turned pale, and a cold sweat broke out along her back. She hadn’t expected Kimberly to be so reckless and say something like that right in front of Mrs. Smith Sr. She was done for now.“Stole?” Mrs. Smith Sr.’s sharp eyes locked on Kimberly. Her voice was icy and deliberate. “Is that what Mandy told you?”Mandy’s face went white. She opened her mouth to explain. “Grandma, I didn’t—”“Be quiet! I didn’t ask you to speak.”Mrs. Smith Sr. had never spoken to her that harshly before. The authority in Mrs. Smith Sr.’s voice made Mandy’s stomach tighten. She couldn’t bring herself to look Mrs. Smith Sr. in the eye.Seeing Mandy shrink under pressure, Kimberly’s temper flared. “Mom, you don’t need to talk to Mandy like that. I was the one who heard Liz stole her deal. If you want to blame someone, blame me!”Mrs. Smith Sr. turned her gaze to Michael. “The deal between Liz and Henderson’s headquarters is something Michael was going to announce to the board today. So tell me

Kimberly let out a cold laugh. “Your grandmother has always favored you. What’s the point of going to her? She’ll take your side no matter what.”Liz nodded calmly. “Alright then. I’ll just call your husband instead—Michael Smith, the CEO of Smith Corporation.”Before Kimberly could react, Liz had already dialed his number.“Mr. Smith, your wife just showed up at my firm and slapped me across the face,” Liz said evenly. “She’s claiming I stole a project from Mandy. We’re on our way to the estate to have Grandma decide who’s in the right. I think you should come too.”Michael, who was about to start a meeting, froze. His face darkened instantly. “What did you just say? Put your mom on the phone!”But all he heard next was the steady beeping of a disconnected call.Jaw tightening, he immediately called Kimberly. It took her a while to answer.“Kimberly,” Michael snapped, “did you not hear a single word I said last night? Have you completely lost your mind?”Kimberly’s voice rose,

Just as Kimberly’s hand was about to strike again, someone caught her wrist midair.Startled, she turned to see an unfamiliar man. Her expression darkened. “Let go! I’m disciplining my daughter. Who do you think you are to interfere?”Hunter’s lips curved faintly, though his eyes were cold. “I’ve never seen a mother slap her own daughter in public and still act so self-righteous about it.”“What business is it of yours? If you don’t let me go right now, I’ll call the police!”“Go ahead,” Hunter said calmly. “Would you like me to dial 911 for you?”Kimberly hadn’t expected him to take her threat seriously. Her face flushed with anger. “Let me go!”Hunter didn’t budge. His grip on her wrist was firm as steel, no matter how she struggled.Liz looked at him and said quietly, “Hunter, let her go. Go back upstairs and get to work. I can handle this.”He frowned. “You sure?”Liz nodded, about to reply when Kimberly let out a cold laugh. “Liz, just how many men are you involved with?

When William got home, he washed the dishes and set them on the rack to dry. Just as he finished drying his hands and stepped out of the kitchen, his phone buzzed with a message from Hunter.“Uncle William, are you and Liz together now?”William narrowed his eyes and typed back, “Call her Aunt Liz.”Hunter was rendered speechless.A few moments later, another message appeared.“I heard from my mom that Grandma already knows about Liz. You should be careful. Knowing Grandma, she might show up in Stanley City herself.”Hunter’s mom, Joanne, had barely heard from Riley that he had taken an interest in a woman in Stanley City before she was already on a plane just to see what Liz looked like. And knowing how much Mrs. Sanders Sr. doted on William, there was no way she would be able to hold herself back either. Just thinking about his grandmother’s temperament gave Hunter a headache. If Liz ever had to face her, she’d definitely be at a disadvantage.“Got it. You can’t even manage
