Chapter 44

Beverly watched as Evan not only maintained his composure but even smiled happily because she was feeding him something. He parted his lips and took the pill into his mouth without even batting an eye.

He swallowed the pill and poured out another one, holding it up to her lips. She stared at his fingertips, which were slightly white as he held the pill. Suddenly, she didn't want to take it at all.

She swept the bottle from his hand, making the pills inside scatter across the floor.

Evan bent over to pick up the bottle, not angered in the slightest. "I'll have a maid come in to clean up the mess."

She stared at his back as he left, suddenly remembering that she'd bought the vitamins herself. She'd been taking them since before she'd even met him.

On their wedding day, Evan had included her name on all the assets he owned. And when she'd had Harold, he'd transferred all of his shares in Gray Corporation to her.
