Chapter 2: The Unknown Job

“Hey Hannah”

I looked at him straight, and my eyes couldn’t believe it. Did Sam do this to me? Why? She knows that I hate him. Still she got me this job in his company. And why the hell did I trust her blindly?

“R-Ryan…” I whispered and took a step back. I can’t stand with him being here. I can’t be with him. It makes me… suffocated. He did what he did and I can not forget it. 

“Don’t leave” he stood up and had worry in his eyes. 

“Huh?”

He came to me. “I said, don’t go”

“Why?”

“Because you have a job here”

“Well, I will not work under someone who I hate” I looked at him and scoffed.

“Hate? You love me, Hannah”

“Well you are really in some great misunderstanding if you think so”

Love? Seriously?

No way.

“Keep saying that, Hannah but you love me”

I scoffed. What’s wrong with him? 

“You are so out of your senses”

“Oh so you think you hate me?” he smirked.

“Of course. I know”

He came closer and I looked at him. Okay, don’t cry and don’t break down. Be strong and tell him straight on his face that you hate him.

He looked in my eyes aftercoming close.I noticed his eyes were as beautiful as ever--

Shut up.

“You hate me?”

I took a deep breath. “Yes”

“Why?”

“Why? You blamed me for everything at every fucking chance you got!” I almost yelled. I needed to control my feelings. But I couldn’t. I just had to let it out sometime and I thought this was the time but I knew I should keep quiet.

“Look, Hannah…” he sighed. “I was younger… high schooler… we make mistakes--”

“Like I made, right? To even like you!”

“No. Everything we do when we are small isn’t wrong”

“I don’t care, you did wrong and very wrong. You… You said I was lying, I did everything on purpose and what not, Ryan?”

“Can we leave the past behind?” he sighed.

I scoffed. “No”

“Look Hannah, mistakes happen!”

“Yes! Like our relationship!”

“No. I am telling you again, it was not a mistake”

“I don’t know why I even remember you. High school crushes come and go. I should have forgotten about you long ago!”

“Because you love me”

I sighed in frustration. “You have lost your senses, I guess”

“And you liked me for 9 years. And you never liked anyone else at that time. It means it was love and--”

“I liked Ivan,” I interrupted. 

“But it didn’t work out because you love me!”

I sighed. “I think you have become self-obsessed”

He sighed and went back to his seat and stood near it. “You will believe it soon enough”

I scoffed. “Never”

“Okay, we’ll see”

I nodded and started going out. “Where are you going?” he asked.

I looked at him. “Out, from this building and your life”

He smirked. I looked at him more suspiciously. “You can’t”

“And why?”

“You signed the contract”

“I didn’t sign any contract” I scoffed.

“Oh really?”

“Yes”

“Where? Do you have it? The contract which I supposedly ‘signed’?”

He chuckled. “Of course”

He took out some documents from the drawer of his desk and kept them on the table. I went there and opened it.

I was terrified as I saw my signatures.

“What? How the hell is it possible! I never signed--”

“Trust me, samantha did”

“What?” I scoffed. “No, you are lying. She can’t. She will never take advantage of knowing everything about me”

“Well, she did. Ask her”

“But… but this is wrong! Even if she did… I didn’t!”

“Well, how can we know who did?”

“What?” 

“For me, you signed those papers asking you to give at least one year to this job”

“But-- but I didn’t sign and you know that!”

“I don’t. Who knows what I know, darling?”

I scoffed again. This was insane. “First of all, don’t you dare call me that and secondly, what? So--so you are gonna play dumb? Why the hell?”

“Because” he smirked. “You love me”

“Shut up with your bullshit, I fucking hate you, and you should really stop all this crap”

“Well, nothing is crap here” he smirked. “There are legal documents with your legal signatures”

“I-- I will go to the Police!”

“Oh, and then? Complain about your best friend?”

“Uh, there must be another way…” I whispered.

“No. The only way is either you complain about your best friend and get her in jail or maybe just work here. Are you sure you're gonna take this to the Police when you know that you are having a big loss on both sides?”

I sighed. “I… why the hell did Samantha do this? Did you force her!?”

“I don’t force anyone!”

“She wouldn't do this otherwise! You must have forced her!”

“I don’t force you otherwise I would have forced you for a long time…” his voice trailed off.

“What? Forced me to love you?”

“No! You already do love me. But yeah, force you to understand and accept it! You are acting completely oblivious of the fact that you are head over heels for me!”

“There is nothing like that, Ryan and I hope that shit gets out of your head” I looked into his eyes straight away. “I hate you, remember that”

“Well, bear with it after all you are gonna work here”

“Only after I make sure that you didn’t force her into this”

He smirked and Ieft. I wanted to know, so I messaged her.

“Hello?” I messaged.

“Hey!”

“One question: Did you sign the contracts by my name?”
