Chapter 1

“What’s taking you guys so long to get a car? Huh? It’s a woman’s?”

Thanks to the heavy cover of the night, Sean Jackson only managed to get a closer look by moving closer. He frowned.

“We’ve got no choice. We ran into her. What do we do with the chick, Sean?” Tiger Holt asked.

Sean Jackson lowered his head and wrapped his bleeding hand with a bandage, then quietly glanced at the trembling woman who was cowering next to the car tire. After a moment of silence, he replied, “Make it clean. Don’t leave any room for future trouble.”

His purposefully lowered voice was melodious as he had a distinct and slightly deep tone. However, it held a faintly discernible chill.

“Then, watch carefully!” Tiger replied, picking up a metal rod that was more than a foot long before he approached the woman.

The metal rod was a rebar that was about as thick as a thumb. Vivian Carraway had picked it up from a construction site and put it in a toolbox in front of her co-driver’s seat. She had intended to use it for self-defense when she put it there. How could she have imagined that it would end up in the hands of a gangster and be turned into a weapon that would threaten her own life?

‘Stay alive. No matter what, I must stay alive!’

Vivian was shaking all over, yet a voice was screaming inside her. Her parents were still around and they had always been mild-mannered and kind. They would not be able to accept her tragic death in the countryside. Furthermore, she had Liam Fairdew who was waiting to meet up with her.

She really should not have driven past this rural road all on her own. She should not have believed that she would be safe just because she was driving a car. Most of all, she should not have been kind enough to pull the brakes when she spotted someone on the side of the road. She really should have hit the accelerator and run them over!

However, this was no time for regret and self-blame. After all, she was on the verge of death.

“I beg you…Don’t kill me. The car…money…I’ll give it all to you! I won’t tell the police either. Just please, don’t kill me!” She sobbed timidly, crouching as she crawled towards the man with hard-lined features who was sitting on the side of the road. “Sir...please, don’t kill me. Spare me on account of the fact that I stopped the car and sincerely wanted to save them. Please, let me go, okay? I won’t say a single word. I never saw anything tonight, and I never ran into anything. Really, really!”

This woman was pretty intelligent. Sean could not help lifting his gaze and glancing at her. Tears and snot were streaming down her face. She had nice, delicate features, but they were distorted by terror. Her eyes were filled with tears, shining with desperation. However, this was not enough to make him forget his current situation.

He was unmoved by the woman’s sobbing pleas. He lowered his head again and continued bandaging the wound on his hand. He had sustained this injury when he jumped from a substantial height during his escape. His palm had landed on a sharp rock on the side of the road and was nearly split into two.

The woman was still kowtowing, sobbing, and pleading by his feet. His brows furrowed more and more as he grew increasingly annoyed. Furthermore, bandaging with one arm was highly inconvenient, so he had to extend his hand over to Slim Monkee who was next to him.

“What are you waiting for?” he asked Tiger in a curt voice.

Tiger walked to her and pulled her up as if he were lifting a small chick. Then, he dragged her towards the underbrush on the side of the road.

Vivian struggled with all of her might, but she was too afraid of screaming. No one would come for her in this godforsaken wilderness, and doing so would only quicken her death, so she continued begging and sobbing.

“Tiger, wait!” It was Slim Monkee who was bandaging Sean. His heart had softened, so he called out to Tiger, and then cautiously appealed to Sean, “Sean, let’s spare the woman. What could she possibly do to us?”

Sean frowned and silently pursed his lips. Tiger, however, could not help teasing his buddy, “Are you aroused, kid?”

Slim chuckled openly and asked Tiger, “So what if I am? I haven’t touched a woman in more than a month. Are you telling me that you don’t want to?”

Under the glow of the moonlight, Tiger lowered his head and examined the woman in his grasp. He could not help feeling aroused either.

Both men were slightly aroused, so they looked at Sean who swept his cold and hardened gaze across the already frightened Vivian’s body. His reply was icy cold and merciless. “We are running for our lives. If you want a woman, you can do whatever you want when we’re safe.
