Chapter 2

Vivian shivered uncontrollably. She tried her best to stay conscious and turned her pleading gaze towards the man who actually resembled a skinny monkey, clutching onto her last straw of survival. “Mister, I’ll do anything if you don’t kill me. My parents are waiting for me back home, and I’m their only daughter.”

Slim was very moved. He summoned his courage again and jovially appealed to Sean, “Sean, we won’t be wasting that much time if we do it now.”

Tiger chuckled before Sean could reply and barked, “Look at your small bit of profit!”

Despite scolding her, he did not continue dragging her away. Instead, he and Slim stared at Sean hopefully.

These two were the only men he had on his escape, so Sean lifted his gaze and stared at them. Then, he casually picked up a straw of grass by the side of the road and held it in his mouth. Something other than cold difference appeared on his well-defined features for the first time. Finally, he shook his head and said, “Now isn’t the time. I’ll give you both ten women each when we’re safe!”

“But now…” Slim could not accept this. He was about to object when he felt Tiger tugging on his sleeve, so he tactfully shut his mouth.

“Alright, we’ll listen to you, Sean.” Tiger smiled in reply, then gestured at Slim to take her away.

Slim turned directly towards Vivian, lifted her up, and left. Meanwhile, Tiger smiled at Sean apologetically. “I’ll go help Slim out. Why don’t you take a nap in the car?”

“No thanks. The space in the car’s too confined. I won’t be able to immediately detect anything odd.” Sean walked to the side of the road, leaned against a tree and shut his eyes. “Make it quick.”

“Right!” Tiger replied and ran after Slim.

Vivian did not struggle when Slim carried her away. She complied with Slim but continued begging him, “Please, sir, don’t kill me. I beg you, don’t kill me. I won’t say a word, I promise!”

“No, no, I won’t kill you…as long as you listen to me like a good girl!” Slim replied, glancing around. Tiger had not caught up to them yet. He was increasingly losing control over the expression on his face. He did a quick survey of his surroundings, then clumsily pulled her into the underbrush.

Vivian quickly understood that Slim was going to act on her behind their backs. This could be a good opportunity to escape. She shifted her gaze nervously.

“The car, let’s do it in the car.” Her voice was as fine as the sound of a mosquito, yet it seemed rather moving.

Tiger, who had managed to catch up with them, saw this and sniggered. The lecherous expression on his face grew even more pronounced.

Slim was momentarily indecisive, afraid of startling Sean, so Vivian quickly explained stammeringly, “It…it’s more comfortable in the b-back of the car…less cumbersome.”

Slim and Tiger’s minds were now muddled with lust. They hesitated for a while, then dragged her towards the car in the middle of the road. Quickly, they opened the car door and pushed her in.

The car was a white SUV that had a big and spacious body. Tiger leaned against it, then quietly teased Slim from the half-opened glass car window, “Think you can do it, kid?”

Slim cursed at him, “Bastard!”

Tiger growled a soft curse, got up, and took two steps away from the car. Then, he turned around and reminded the person in the car, “Take it easy, monkey!”

“This woman’s got an awesome body!” Slim Monkee exclaimed with surprise and glee. He cried out excitedly, “I’ve hit the jackpot today!”

Tiger was taken aback. He spat onto the ground and turned towards Sean who had closed eyes to rest not too far away, “Hurry up. Don’t make Sean wait!”

Slim was getting busy and completely ignored him.

In the car, Vivian bit her lip and forced herself to bear with it. She took a deep breath and hooked one arm around the man’s neck, then pulled him towards her, showing no sign of suspicion. Meanwhile, her other hand secretly fumbled for the pocket at the back of her co-driver’s seat.

There was a knife there. It was a small but very sharp fruit knife. Liam had driven this car to take her on a spring excursion once. On their way back, she had gone to the back seat and slept on a whim of laziness. When she woke up, she had used this knife to cut some fruits for him. Back then, she had sat in the back seat, cutting apples into small pieces, then popping them into Liam Fairdew’s mouth. He had suddenly sucked on her fingers and would not let go no matter how much she groaned at his mischief.

‘I must survive,’ Vivian repeated to herself internally, ‘Mom, Dad, and Liam...they’re all waiting for me. I can’t die here. I cannot die in this humiliating, insulting state.’
