Chapter 3

Finally, she found the sharp weapon, and the villain was still on top of her. However, she had never felt so calm. Her hand slid down his back, trying to determine the exact spot of his heart. However, she could not be sure, so she was afraid that the blade would be too short and might not pierce through his heart and kill him instantly.

Vivian knew that she had no time to hesitate. She grabbed the back of his head, lifted her chin, and forcefully pressed against his lips. The man was blissfully ignorant of her plot. In fact, her actions excited him.

In that instant, Vivian lodged the knife in her hands into the back of his neck without hesitation.

That was a spot for instant death. The man’s skinny body immediately stiffened. He tried to lift his head and widened his eyes as if he wanted to get a good look at the woman underneath him. Unfortunately, he would not have the chance. Vivian coiled her legs tightly around the man’s body, pressing the back of his head firmly down as she gripped the knife in her hand tightly. Then, she stabbed downwards with all of her might, piercing every possible life-threatening area on his body.

This sharp weapon was simply too important. Her efforts of bringing it back from a foreign country had not been wasted.

She could not resist extending her arm to cover her eyes. Her vision seemed completely blurred out by blood. The man on top of her finally stopped struggling, and his warm body merely twitched faintly.

However, Vivian was too afraid of letting him go so easily. She sneakily glanced outside the car. The tall and fierce man was standing a short distance away from the car, and that Sean character was still by the side of the road.

The car engine was still running because she had not switched it off when she got down to investigate. She could not afford to startle them, so she had to quickly climb to the front seat, lock the car doors, hit the accelerator, and run.

This was her only chance at survival.

Vivian took a deep breath and gently shoved the skinny man off her.

Sean was resting his eyes and thinking of his next move at the same time. They had been running for more than a thousand kilometers. Golden South City was not too far away, but the road ahead was still a blur. He would wait for those two to return, then head to Golden South City as soon as possible.

It was getting increasingly quiet. He had become slightly absent-minded, and his usually tense nerves were now relaxed. He was so relaxed that his alarm bells would not go off immediately. The car lights, which had been turned off out of fear that it might attract someone’s attention, suddenly lit up. He lifted his head in astonishment, then quickly ran to the road, only to find the white SUV charging madly towards him.

The bright lights momentarily caught him off guard. However, he only needed a single glance to see the driver’s face—it was the weeping and pleading woman. Half of her face was now covered in blood, and the other half was as pale as a ghost’s. Only her eyes were just as black as ever, no longer concealed by her tears but filled with a maddened hatred and shining brilliantly.

“Sean!” Tiger cried out in alarm, and threw himself against him without hesitation, pushing him aside. Sean had no time to react, so his body rolled automatically to the side of the road. The car tires brushed past his shoulders. However, Tiger was sent flying into the air, landing onto the ground some ten meters away, groaning.

The woman was not done yet. She ran over Tiger’s legs, then turned and left abruptly.

Vivian gripped tightly onto the steering wheel. All she could think of was stepping on the accelerator. The car dashed madly along the countryside road until it reached the bright streets of the city. Then, it stopped. Her entire body was shivering uncontrollably. Her trembling was so bad that she could not even hold her phone, let alone dial Liam Fairdew’s number.

“Arrghhhh!” She growled softly like a wild animal, opening her mouth and biting her wrist until the pain from it stopped her tremors. Only then was she able to dial Liam’s number. “C-call the police...Liam. Call the police! Some…something’s happened to me,” she choked with petrified sobs.

She had driven the car, all on her own in the dead of the night, to the city he was in. It was supposed to be a surprise.
