Jennifer retrieved the scarf she had knitted for him from the wardrobe. "It's going to be cold tomorrow. Here, this is for you."

Maxwell glanced at the thick dark gray scarf. If it had been before, he would have been happy by her initiative. But now, he couldn't help but feel that all her obedience and thoughtfulness toward him were merely to help Zion. Or perhaps, for some other purpose?
