Chapter 6: 00. Forgive Me

When Edward Priestley and Sylvia Congreve were being viciously attacked by netizens, Samantha Huntington was still sound asleep. She slept through the entire day, only waking up in the afternoon of the next day. Oliver Donald had come back once during this time, even kindly preparing some food for her, but she had no appetite at all.

The linked forum posts had pictures and details, even revealing the hotel where they had stayed. While Samantha Huntington was surprised that Oliver Donald had actually helped her, she couldn't tell if she felt relieved or angry; her emotions were mixed.

Murphy Maurice was still talking, but she wasn't listening. It wasn't until his voice stopped and he tugged on her sleeve twice that she snapped out of it. “Baobao… am I seeing things?” Murphy Maurice rubbed his eyes, looking in the direction of the elevator. “Is that Edward Priestley and Sylvia Congreve?”

Following his gaze, Samantha Huntington saw the two approaching her. They must have come because of those photos, she thought. After all, if Murphy Maurice knew it was her, they must have figured it out too.

Were they here to confront her?

Samantha Huntington had no intention of dealing with them and grabbed Murphy Maurice's arm, heading toward the cubicles. But before they could take two steps, Edward Priestley called out to her in a familiar tone. “Baobao!”

A warm feeling washed over Samantha Huntington. “Don't worry, I won't let them bully me here.”

But these two, showing up unannounced at her workplace, were really annoying! They were at the center of a media storm, and coming here in person was likely to cause trouble for Entertainment News. And calling her "Baobao" so affectionately—who gave them the right?!

The more she thought about it, the more annoyed she became. Walking up to them, she didn't even look at them and pushed open the door to the meeting room. “Speak quickly, I have other things to do.”

Hearing her cold and harsh words, Sylvia Congreve was seething with anger. But for the sake of her future, she had to swallow her pride.
