The sound of bone cracking filled Zeda’s ears as the Werewolves began shifting into their animal form, but not all of them made it before Adrian and Rylan attacked.

Adrian sent a gush of wind in the form of a small tornado down the corridor that instantly swept them off their feet, sending them flying and crashing hard against the far wall.

Rylan, moving with the smooth, terrifying speed characteristic of Vampires, attacked them quickly in their vulnerable, half-changed state. With his silver dagger, he cleanly decapitated the heads of four Werewolves.

Zeda watched in awe, which curdled into horror when two of the heads rolled toward her. She felt bile rise in her throat but forced herself not to throw up or scream.

Carrie emerged from the fourth room, guiding two terrified young girls, barely past their teenage years, to stay put close to the elevator. She left the sobbing girls to head back and rescue others.
