Hi guys. I am in the process of wrapping this book up, so get ready. I dedicate this chapter to JO VI Lyn and Liana. Thank you so much for supporting this story.
NINA MEYERS I was seated in the living room, watching an opera, when Alejandro came into the house. The little fucker had a key for himself. Unmoving, I watched him enter the house until he was right in front of me, obstructing my view of the TV. I lowered my gaze to the black suitcase in his hand and then to his face. He stared at me for a solid eight seconds without as much as a word. “Are you going to just stand there and not talk? What’s in the bag?” Evil wasn’t just in his eyes, but in the smile that curled back like a predator ready to snap. “A gun.” “A gun?” “Why, I believe I just said so.” He sat down on the coffee table. “I got it for you.” “Why would I need a gun?” “I didn’t bring you here to watch movies and eat. I brought you here because you have a lot of things to do for me. One of which includes killing Levi Del Campa.” I opened my mouth to speak, but he put out his index finger, asking me to be quiet. “And before you complain and say, ‘but he is the f
ZESA RUSSO A hard knot constricted my throat when I heard Sophia’s scream. Something was wrong. I curled my fingers around the cold metal doorknob and twisted it, praying to God that Nina hadn’t done something to Sophia. The girl was annoying as hell, but I didn’t want any harm to come her way. Who would I show off to if something bad was to happen to her?“Sophia.” I pounded my fist on the door when I realized it was locked. “Sophia!”Something was definitely wrong.“Help!” I shouted, glancing around. “Somebody, please help!” Two men who’d probably accompanied someone to the hospital came to help as well as a nurse. “Something has happened to Sophia. We need to get to her.”“Step aside.” One man said, moving backward. We obeyed, and I watched in fascination as he ran to the door. In one kick, he brought the door down. Was the door not strong enough, or was he really strong? Either way, he impressed me. I ran into Sophia’s office and went behind her desk. The sight of her b
ALEJANDRO ORTEGADISCLAIMER: Acts of abuse. A bit kinky, but yeah… just in case it makes you uncomfortable, please skip. I apologize in advance if this brings back any negative memory. Useless! Absolutely useless!I paced the apartment I’d gotten Nina, impatiently waiting for her to arrive. What was so hard about luring one man to a secluded place and getting rid of him? Absolutely nothing! But Nina fucking Meyers had to mess it up. Not only did she ruin everything. She got Sophia shot when she should have buried a bullet deep into the skull of that prick. As I waited for her, I busied myself with the bottle of whiskey I found in the kitchen. It delivered the needed burn to my throat and chest. On my third glass, the doorknob twisted and the little bitch came in, her hoodie covering her head. She froze when she saw my shoes in the doorway. Slowly, she lifted her head from my shoes to meet my heated glare. She swallowed thickly. “Alejandro,”I studied her with unforgiving ju
ALEJANDRO ORTEGA ‘19 Java Boulevard Street.’ The address of the place Levi and his son were kept hostage was sent to me about two hours after my call with Enzo. My eyes closed in restrained elation at the text. Quick and effective. Enzo was just amazing. I went over to Nina, who was now aware of her surroundings and shivering from the cold. I lifted her chin. “I have your darling Levi where I want him.” Her teeth chattered when she tried to speak. It didn’t stop her, though. “I’m c-c-cold.” “It’s your punishment.” I let go. “Try not to catch a cold.” Without a care in the world, I exited the apartment, making sure to lock the door. The drive to the abandoned house was a good forty-five minutes’ drive, but since it was past 5a.m, there wasn’t traffic. I parked in front of the house and got down. I rubbed my arms when the frosty morning air kissed my skin like a lover would. The house before must have been a home with kids in it. What could have once been a lovely rose
ZESA RUSSO By the time Finn and Malena arrived at the hospital, I was almost sure I’d lost my mind. Whenever I thought of the condition Jaylen could be in, my heart felt as though tiny needles pricked my heart. I considered calling the police and demanding they arrest Alejandro, but Finn stopped me time and time again. Just like he was now.“You’ll only make things worse.” He reasoned, taking my phone from me.I slid down the wall until my buttocks came into contact with the floor. My hands went into my hair and I gripped them. “What am I to do then? What am I to do as a mother? How am I supposed to just sit still and wait for something bad to happen to my son?”“Technically…” he kept mute when he saw Malena’s deathly glare. “What I’m trying to say is you shouldn’t call the police. Considering how much he hates Levi, he could easily kill him.”“What about Nina?” Malena questioned, drawing my attention to her. “Is she aware they took her son from the hospital?”At this point
NINA MEYERS The biting cold filled my lungs with every breath of air that filled the apartment. Did he turn off the heater? I took in a breath as I braced for fresh shards of ice to stab my throat and burn my lungs. Thankfully, the warm exhale was more palatable. I wriggled around, trying to free myself but the belt made it hard to move. After minutes of wriggling I felt as though I’d gotten enough space to move around and me being able to get up with the chair confirmed it. I waddled to the kitchen, ignoring the stinging pain in my back from the beatings I’d gotten from that asshole. I grabbed a knife with which I was able to cut off the belt with it. The chair fell to the floor, and I groaned when one leg brushed against my thigh. Fucking piece of shit! I crawled up the stairs until I had gotten to my room. I painfully put on clean panties, skipping the bra since my back was bloodied. Just a loose shirt and hoodie would do. I did not need something digging into my wounds—the rem
LEVI DEL CAMPA They say there’s a first time for everything, but getting abducted was not something I was looking forward to. The house made me want to retch. Jaylen’s cries made my heart ache as I could do nothing for him. And most of all, Alejandro’s maniacal laughter whenever he hit me made it a lot worse than it would have been if someone else had kidnapped me.He’d told me it had been over six hours since he had the contract sent to Zesa. No matter what, I wanted Jaylen to be with her. He needed treatment. He needed to leave here more than I did. It wasn’t as if I did not want my freedom—I craved it—but the life of the child I’d come to see as mine came first. Even if it meant my death. The child was innocent. He had done nothing wrong. Thankfully, what I wanted would happen soon. I was told someone had gone to get the contract Zesa signed. I hated she was signing a contract agreeing to be his, but it was that or losing Jaylen. That she’d signed it only meant she under
ZESA RUSSO The police were taking too long to arrive. I was losing my patience. Whilst I waited in the car for them to arrive, Alejandro drove past me. Why now of all times? Why would he come in now? I glanced around the house’s surrounding. There was no sign of Nina. She was long gone into the house, though. If she was dead, I did not know. I got down from my car after watching Alejandro go in. There was not enough time to wait. If he were to get his hands on the contract, he would not hesitate to kill Levi. I couldn’t have that. The least I could do was stall. With my heart beating loudly in my ears, I got closer to the house. Thankfully, he’d left the gate open, so I did not have to draw attention to myself by touching the metal. I lifted my leg to take another step when I heard a blood-curdling scream. I halted in my steps when I realized that the voice belonged to Nina. Something had happened. I looked down at my hands to see that they were quivering with fear with eac
