Chapter Nineteen

“Isn’t it amazing how being made love to by someone who you love with all your heart can wash away the pain of being violated?” Kendra said as she lay satiated on the earthen floor in her husband’s arms. “In the books that I’ve read the woman is always scarred for life.  I don’t feel scarred or damaged.  I’m angry… very angry… but, not damaged.”

“You are a marvel,” Rex cooed while he lightly brushed a bit of stray hair from her face. “You’re a better person than I am.  It’s amazing how you are able to release the bad that’s happened and focus only on the good.”

She shrugged. “Maybe I’m wrong.  Maybe I should be dwelling on it more or trying to deal with it or something, but I refuse to let it get me down.  Life is too short and too precious to dwell on the bad. When it pops into my head as a memory or a dream, I tell myself
